Iran attacked US targets in Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan and Syria, and President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran was now waging a full-scale war with the United States.
In particular, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reported that its forces struck American air defense, communications, and drone sites in Kuwait, according to the semi-official Iranian news agency Tasnim. According to Tasnim, an early warning radar, a missile defense radar system, a telecommunications center, a satellite communications system, and a Patriot anti-aircraft missile system at the Ahmed Al-Jaber base were hit. In addition, the IRGC claims to have destroyed a hangar for American MQ-9 reconnaissance and attack drones at the Ali al-Salem airbase.
The US military has launched a new round of strikes against Iran aimed at further degrading its ability to attack shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
The string of strikes, the tenth night in a row, lasted five hours and followed US President Donald Trump's announcement that he intended to punish Iran for the deaths of American soldiers over the weekend, for which Trump threatened Tehran would "pay many times over." "Every time Iran kills an American soldier, they will pay for it many times over!" Trump wrote on his social media account, Truth Social. "US forces targeted Iranian military command centers, maritime facilities, missile and drone launch sites, and air defense systems to degrade Iran's ability to continue to attack commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. US forces remain alert and prepared to hold Iran accountable for its unjustified aggression against civilian mariners seeking free and open passage through the Strait," the US Central Command said in a statement.
