AI GeneratedFollowing a disappointing loss to the Royals, the host of Padres Digest argues that the team is \"washed\" and should pivot to a full \"sell\" strategy. He expresses deep frustration with the roster's performance, particularly the pitching and batting, concluding that the team is unlikely to recover or make a meaningful playoff push.
It is finally clear this needs to happen as the Padres drop another game to a bad Royals team.
What is going on? Who's to blame? Are we screwed? Let's talk about it. Hi,
welcome back to another episode of Padres Digest with your host, Andrew.
Guess what? We're miserable. Welcome to Padres 2026 season, where we have to test our mental
strength and stability and our health because, wow, this team sucks. This team sucks.

But let's just jump directly into it. Today sucked. And you know what? I think it's finally
time to admit it's sale time. Sale time. Sale time! Woo! Time to throw in the towel.
Time to sell, sell, sell. I think we're finally... I would say for the first time in this channel's
history, but we only had one year of history. But I think we're finally going to drop the trade
stuff and go full into sale talk. Who can we sell? What can we get out of it? Because I don't think
this team has it. Like, if we can't even win a King start, who is our best starter, which he's
not even that great right now, but he's still our best starter. If we can't even win that,
we're screwed. Like, canning sucked. Waldron wasn't great. Like, even if we get rid of canning,
who are we going to replace him with? Waldron? Brito? They suck. And no trade. If we get Joe
Ryan, guess what? We still have four other scrubs in our rotation who also can't pitch.
So why even try? Why even bother? So that's why I'm saying it's clear. Sell, sell, sell.
We are washed. It is over. It is Jover. The pain is not going away, y'all. The pain's not going to
go away. It is here to stay. So who do you guys want to sell? You let me know in the comments
down below, but let's just take a look at the game real, real quick. Not what I wanted. This
is what I wanted. Padre's losing two straight out of the break against a dog crap Royals team is
the biggest sell everything sign there has ever been. No fluke run post all-star break. Team is
awful. If divine gospel says it, it must be true. Shout out to you, DSG. But let's just look at what
happened because I don't even know anymore. I don't even know anymore. Okay. One to six.
We basically got shut out if it wasn't thanks to Tatis for his home run. It'd be so, it'd be the
most Padre's thing ever if Tatis went on like the hottest streak humanly possible, hit like 40 home
runs second half and wins MVP and we missed the playoffs. That'll probably happen. So expect that.
Uh, but yeah, series over Kansas city closes out early backing dope, dope knack. I don't know how to say his
name and the bullpen with home runs from Thomas and Perez, a rough start out of the all-star break
for a team looking to gain ground in the West. Yeah, we're not gaining ground isn't our problem.
Our problem is at least getting above 500 right now. We're back to the old Padre problem of getting
above 500. So yeah, if tomorrow's was all, I mean, if we win, cool, but I don't think it even matters.
Honestly, maybe even losing, I know this sounds like a, like a baby complaining, whining thingy.
And I know I definitely am, but even if we lose tomorrow, like that, maybe that's a good thing
because maybe it'll make it more clear to AJ Preller who might get fired now and salmon and
basically everybody, but maybe Ruben Nebla, uh, that we got to sell, sell, sell, sell, sell what
we can, sell what we got, sell the team at this point. Cause we're washed, uh, top performers.
Who cares? We suck batting. Guess what? We suck. Merrill sucks. Bogart's sucks. Machado sucks.
Sheets sucks a lot, but also can be good. France. ChronoRef actually did good. Unduhar sucked.
Fedmin has always sucked. Tatis, my goat, but one for nine with runners scoring position.
And we had like what? Three double plays today. So not going to win a lot of games doing that.
Uh, well, on the other hand, their team, the Royals could actually hit home runs and score.
So how to lose baseball 101. Griffin Canning is washed. Third straight tough turn for him.
Five hits, four runs, four runs, two walks, four strikeouts in the home run, obviously.
667ERA aka he is. What, what, what, what, what, what, what washed? Four in runs on five hits.
Like we said, four same guy hit hard all night. 818 expected Woba against or expected weighted
on base average. Location was the story. 35.4% zone rate overall is horrible. And the cutter
found a strike zone just 8.3% of the time. The stuff missed bats when it did find the zone.
22.6% whiff rate is respectable, but the command just wasn't there overall.
Sweeper was untouchable. Zero expected Woba against and 113 TJ stuff plus, but it was
thrown just three times. So his best pitch by far was thrown just three times. Everything else got
a hit or missed the zone. I mean, cutter got whiffs. Changeup got whiffs. Cool. Like he did
have four strikeouts, but when you miss the zone that much, you're not going to have much success,
right? Matt Waldron. I mean, I don't know what I expect from Matt Waldron, but not a lot. I mean,
Maranaccio and Brito. Cool. I don't know why we just put Maranaccio off for two innings and then
have Brito start or not start, but, uh, backup head of Mon Marquez tomorrow. I mean, I guess
he still can start. He only had what? 11 pitches. Uh, but yeah, this is the team we are currently
stuck with. Like, I don't think offense, like, yeah, if we had Laureano, we'd be,
we might be better, but like, I don't think offense is going to be any better. I don't even
think Samantha Taylor coming back is going to change anything. Uh, so at this point, why do we
even have Adam? Well, Adam's injured, but I guess we can't trade Adam, can we? So he's not coming
back to like end of the year. Uh, but trade more home for sure. Trade France, trade on Duhar,
trade anyone on a one-year deal. I saw something too that, uh, I put it on, uh, Instagram and all
that. So follow us on Instagram. But, uh, if Nick Pavetta doesn't come back by August 22nd,
it voids the rest of his contract. So we can be done with him. And honestly, like I like Pavetta,
but why not? Why not get rid of them? You know what I mean? Save as much money as possible.
When the new owners come, sign Tariq Scooball, sell the prospects that we're, we got from selling
our players and get Yoron Alvarez. I don't know. All I know is that this year sucks and I'm over
it and it's not going to get any better. So sell, sell, sell, sell everything, sell everybody.
There's even videos. I think Chris Jones is going to make a video on it. I don't know if he will,
uh, talking about if we sell Miller in order to get rid of Bogarts. So trade Bogarts and Miller
just to get rid of Bogarts, which I think is stupid, but people want it. So we'll talk about
it, but yeah, we're washed. We suck. Time to sell. That's the moral of the story. Thank you guys so
much for watching. Before we end the video though, I promised you guys some prize picks, picks.
So this is from today. Jude Bellingham did have a goal. Great. He also had exactly two shots. So I
don't know if that counts as more or less, but I did anyways. And then Killian Mbappe did have two
goals. So great on that front. Uh, so that's those picks. Now for tomorrow, I got Enzo Fernandez with
a shot on target because he is definitely going to be aggressive like he always is. Lionel Messi,
I found this on prize picks. Uh, if he attempts more than one pass or attempts a pass,
I'm going to hit on that pick. So absolutely try that out. I think that promotion lasts for like
the next 20 hours. So jump on that. And then Simone, he is going to have a lot of work cut
out for him. So if he can make three saves, I think we're good. And I think he will because
there's going to be a lot of traffic coming his way, I think. So using your World Cup knowledge
and other knowledge, check out prize picks. Make your World Cup picks. You got one more game left
to do it. So do it. So thank you so much prize picks for sponsoring us. And thank you guys so
much for watching. What do you guys think? Do you agree with me on selling or do you think I'm being
pessimistic? Do you think we still got it? Let me know how you feel. And yeah, thank you for watching.
Please subscribe as always. Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, Padres Digest. Thank you to our channel
members. Please join if you would like. Uh, and yeah, is that it? I forget. Whatever. Goodbye.
I don't care if you want to lose anymore Padres. You can't hurt me. I'm over it. Bye.
