AI GeneratedThe New England Patriots are seeing significant buzz around second-year wide receiver Kyle Williams. With physical improvements, high praise from teammates and insiders, and impressive efficiency metrics from his rookie season, Williams is positioned for a potential breakout year as a primary deep-threat option for the team in the 2026 season.
The New England Patriots have found their next star as with multiple reports coming out
about a wide receiver that is getting praise across the board we have to break down why is
he going to be wide receiver three by the end of the year and why is a breakout year coming for
Kyle Williams to be arguably one of the biggest pieces of the Patriots team here in the 2026 NFL
season especially if a caisson booty trade commences welcome to Patriots Digest everybody
I'm Jason Andrews and I hope you're having a great day wherever you guys might be
this is a very interesting topic that I feel like we've kind of lost a little bit of the
intrigue on for a little bit and I want to go back and discuss the concept with Kyle Williams
because a lot of people are not really monitoring him in fact articles like this Patriots have
rising star everyone keeps mentioning but I don't know if people are going to be really
I feel like they are going to be more shocked with what he's going to put out there than what
people are talking about so let's start with the baseline of all this and kind of the thought
first of all we all got the report about him putting on some weight he bulked up this off
season and it's currently 193 pounds the goal was to be somewhere near 200 by the start of the season
and he said quote play strength was definitely something that I wanted to emphasize on and I
knew that I needed to get my lower half stronger and bulk up a little bit coming across the middle
getting off a press and all that type of stuff that was one of my biggest emphasis mobility and
just putting a little weight last year he was around 180 to 185 pounds during his rookie season
so put on 10 pounds already and like I said goal to put on even more throughout the start of the
training camp area in the preseason and you know be close to 200 potentially by the start
of the regular season now before I go into AJ Brown's comments about Kyle Williams and why
he expects a big year we'll let you know this video is brought to you by prize picks prize
picks is America's number one sports picks app and it's the best way to get in on the action on
all of your favorite sports it's the perfect time to do so the NFL just about to ramp up
World Cup finale on a Sunday we've got the MLB ramping back up for the second half technically
tonight one game tonight and you've got some tomorrow a bunch of games starting tomorrow
actually and then WNBA PGA Esports UFC tons of stuff to choose from tons of stuff on price but
you can use the link of the description use code digest when signing up for an account that way
when you play five dollars you're gonna get fifty dollars instantly in your lineup now as for the
New England Patriots and for Mr. Kyle Williams like I said a lot of people are starting to mention
his name well AJ Brown was one of those guys in fact he was talking about it at a charity
basketball event saying you know join the Patriots I'm excited it's amazing I'm just ready to ball
and he also said that he seemed to be impressed with Kyle Williams early on saying Kdub is cold
bro Kdub cold which this just follows suit because when AJ Brown participated in Christian Gonzalez
concert Christian Gonzalez charity basketball rather a charity softball game a couple weeks
probably a month back he also talked about Kyle Williams there and emphasized how he thinks it's
a breakout year for the second year wide receiver out of Washington State and how Williams Williams
is really underrated especially with his speed and given you've got people to watch with Romeo
Dobbs and AJ Brown you might not put as much of an eye on Williams and he can race right by you
now again all this stuff is just he says she says but the numerical stats also start to back this
up and that's kind of where the interesting part about it comes now Albert Breer kind of started
this all by talking about Kyle Williams and kind of saying that you know he is the guy who could
break out saying players know who can play and it feels to me like Kyle Williams has been over the
last six seven eight months a guide that players have brought up as like this guy is going to be
pretty good so already some praise from an insider right there but again the statistical things that
people want to talk about and want to go to well we got that too because Danny Gillette of Yahoo
Sports saying when you look at his metrics they certainly lend to the idea that he is a big play
receiver especially when you consider how little he was targeted last year that certainly puts more
value into his big play stats now he averaged 20.9 yards per reception on 21 total targets he had a
19.05 average depth of a target on a 4.4 target share these numbers also include a 48 percent
catch rate according to data from Sumner Summer Sports so all this points to him like you said
being that big play wide receiver and the deep ball threat that he possesses so that's where
the intriguing part of how the Patriots set up this wide receiver room is going to be you know
a big point of discussion because you're going to have A.J. Brown you're going to have Dobbs out
there and then you've got what I would call deep ball receivers with Pop Douglas and with Matt
Collins but Kyle Williams can also be that deep ball receiver so or rather Pop Douglas more slot
I meant my Collins Kyle Williams but I think there's something to be said that you know maybe
there's a way where Dobbs plays more in the slot than we initially thought and Williams could
potentially be out there plus you know when you put four wide that's going to open up the playbook
as well either way though people are very excited about Kyle Williams and I don't think we've talked
about him enough for what he was able to do last year on such a short amount of stats and heck on
PFF he didn't even qualify for the greats so that was one thing to notice and you look at all the
statistics that he was able to put up on really not a lot of snaps I mean 191 pass snaps is not a
lot and had 21 targets had 10 receptions on those again 48 cash rate catch rate three touchdowns
two on the 10 receptions like he was efficient 20.9 on the yards per reception 7.8 yards after
catch and 122.8 pass rating when target he is a guy who's going to be that deep ball threat he's
going to be somebody who you can watch for throughout the entirety of a game as somebody
to say hey we need a big play we can look toward Kyle and that's kind of where it goes to Tony
Brown actually a former Patriots wide receiver also talked about Williams and spoke to the
progression that he has seen saying speedster he can run by anyone in a thick room and that's a
good asset to have and he can track down the ball track the ball downfield he put that on film last
year when I'm in the game you have to protect the deep part of the field but if he wants to be on
the field more he has to be able to run intermediate routes and create separation the way that way on
a consistent basis so again it's more about creating separation and using that speed to
his advantage now part of that is the routes that he is running another part is him just making sure
that he can get that agility and that first step on the right foot so how can we see that in
preseason well in a lot of ways it's going to be what we saw last year in a certain games you
remember back to the playoff games we saw a couple of good catches but the ones that stick out
specific plays definitely have to think about the play with the Ravens obviously getting downfield
and making a fantastic catch that's something that you know we see more of that in preseason
and on to right wing season he's going to get more opportunities we also have to talk about
the potential there of him you know making the catches against the Buccaneers a big play down
film that one if you can see those big plays early on it's going to push for a positive start for
this team and overall for the New England Patriots as a whole because you think about the way that
this wide receiver room is set up not to say they're looking for a deep threat because they
can do that with Brown or Dobbs but if they want a speedster boy do they have one right here with
Romeo Dobbs speaking of stuff that you have you can also go out there and get some money on prize
picks I've got some mores for the World Cup finale versus our Argentina versus Spain taking the more
on the GOAT Messi to score a goal final World Cup game for him I'm saying he's going to score
Enzo Fernandez going to take the more on his half a shot on target so just got to get one and I'm
and his shot on target that baby photo by the way it's crazy if you know you know and on top of
which these are demons and goblins so goblin down there on the bottom with them with the
means probably going to hit demons are a little harder to hit but they're going to get you more
money so $20 and this will win you $185 back highly recommend you go check it out again use
link in the description and use code digest when signing up for an account that way when you play
$5 you're going to get $50 instantly in your lineup as for Kyle Williams I want you to ask
the question to yourself will Kyle Williams be the wide receiver three by the end of the year
will he jump Matt Collins will he be the guy that we're looking toward with a third most receptions
again this is all probably assuming that Keyshawn Booty is ended up traded but if he is then type
why for yes if you think he does not get that far but you see a jump then type in for no and if you
think that you know maybe this is all smoke then you can also type in but let me know what you
think down in the comment section and obviously we'll be keeping an eye on everybody for now
though guys we appreciate you watching we'll see you next time peace out
