In this video we have four things to talk about. First up we have a new 100% transfer bonus on
transfers of Chase points to a certain hotel chain. Then we have your last chance for the
100,000 point bonus on the Chase Sapphire Preferred. We'll tell you when that is ending.
We also have a new partnership between Marriott and Japan Airlines where you can transfer points
between them, you can earn Japan Airlines miles on Marriott stays and vice versa,
and also status match. And then lastly we have a new 70,000 point welcome bonus
on a certain hotel credit card. Hey credit warriors welcome to the show my name is Ben
Hedges aka The Credit Shifu and on this channel I cover US credit cards, personal finance and
luxury travel. If you like the sound of that please subscribe but let's get into it. And
this video is brought to you by The Built Dining Program, one of my favorite programs for super
charging your credit card earning extra points on your dining spend. Okay so first up we have
this transfer bonus to IHG hotels and this is one of those ones that Chase has been doing recently
where if you transfer now you get a higher percentage bonus and if you wait a few weeks
it goes down to a smaller bonus and then eventually it goes back to normal. Check it out.
Early birds get more points. Get 100% bonus IHG1 rewards points when you transfer ultimate rewards
2026 and 11 59 p.m eastern time on July 30th. So that's a two-week window. When the early bird
offer ends get a 70% bonus IHG1 rewards points when you transfer ultimate rewards points between
12 a.m eastern time on July 31st and 11 59 p.m eastern time on August 31st. So that second
section is a whole month, the whole month of August. And you can see on the screen here it
shows 1,000 to 1,000 so that's the usual one-to-one but then plus a 100% bonus so I'm guessing if I
click all the way through it will show 1,000 to 2,000 or a one-to-two ratio on the final screen.
I can't do that since I'd have to link my account to show you that and I'm rushing to get this
script finished so you know I can get this video out on time so but trust me it will be one to two.
So if you like the idea of staying at an IHG hotel this could be your chance to get a really good
deal. Chase points normally aren't worth transferring to IHG at a one-to-one ratio
since IHG points are only worth about half a cent on average 0.6 cents per point if you use the
latest points guy valuation right it went up slightly recently. So normally you'd be better
off just booking an IHG hotel through the chase travel portal at one cent per point or even little
more if you got points boost active but with this promotion you will be getting at least I would say
1.2 cents per point in value for your chase points and if you book a high-end IHG hotel like
the intercontinental probably you're actually going to be getting higher value. I've stayed
at several intercontinental hotels one in London two in DC and I think they are awesome. All right
let's move on to your last chance for the Sapphire Preferred 100,000 point bonus. As you can see here
Chase has now added offer ends soon to the landing page for the Sapphire Preferred credit card. Just
in case you don't know this is a historic high 100,000 point bonus. I think this is only the
second time they've done this could be wrong but I think it's the second time and that is worth at
least $1,000 but depending how you redeem the points it could be $2,000 or more. Now in my
experience offer ends soon normally means it's gonna end in about two weeks for the online offer.
I would say that if you've been thinking about getting this card just pull the trigger all right
get it now before it ends. I will put my affiliate link down there below as well you can access this
offer. I do thank you very much if you use it all right it'll be in the description and probably
in a pinned comment. I'm still thinking myself actually about whether to apply and get this card
or not and if I do I'll probably apply this week. There is also some other information though about
the end date from targeted mailers okay check out this comment from someone on Reddit. TPG or the
points guy notes that the 100,000 CSP offer is ending soon. I did receive a targeted mailer
saying apply by August 17th. Now in my opinion though that is probably just referring to the
last date that you can respond to that specific mailer by but it may also cover the in-branch
end date too since in-branch normally goes on a little bit longer than the online offer so my
guess is that for online it will end around the end of this month and then for targeted mailers
and probably in-branch offers or in-branch signups you may have until August 17th that would be the
final day you could probably apply. What do you guys think? Should I apply for the Sapphire Preferred?
Let me know in the comments down below. All right let's now move on to this Marriott JAL partnership
and a 70,000 point bonus from a certain hotel card. But just quickly before we get into that
if you want to turn your credit card that you use for dining into an even more powerful points
earning engine do check out the built dining program. It gets you an additional three built
points per dollar at restaurants in the program which are many and that is in addition to what you
earn on your credit card. So in this case if it was the Chase Sapphire Preferred or the Freedom Flex
that becomes six points per dollar. All right three from Chase, three from Built. If you use the
Amex Gold for dining it would be seven points per dollar, four from Amex and three from Built. Anyway
if you want to check it out link is below just don't forget to link your card so that you can
actually earn points. You can also link your Lyft account as well for extra points on Lyft rides.
All right so we have this new partnership that was just announced between Marriott and Japan Airlines.
They have two landing pages that explain the partnership one from the Marriott side
and one from the Japan Airlines side. Looking at it from the Marriott side they explain the benefits
you can choose to earn Japan Airlines miles on Marriott stays or Marriott points on Japan Airlines
flights. You can also transfer between them now. Transfers from JAL to Marriott are at four to three
and transfers from Marriott to JAL are at three to one. So actually either way you're losing points
or miles so I actually wouldn't recommend transferring unless it is to top up a already
pre-existing balance. There's also a little status match tool where you can play around and look at
what status you can get if you match. Like I'm Marriott Gold so I would get 10,000 fly-on points
which count towards JAL status or if I was Japan Airlines Premier and nothing with Marriott I could
get Marriott Gold from that. And there are also some bonus points along with the Marriott Gold
when you stay a certain number of nights at Marriott. All you need to do to get this is link
your account. You can do that from either the Marriott side or the Japan Airlines side. I'll put
both landing pages in a pinned comment down below. I think the status match thing is really the most
valuable benefit from this for people who already have status with one of these but not the other.
Transferring points from Marriott to Airlines normally is a terrible deal all right as you've
seen. Okay let's now look at this 70,000 point welcome bonus on a certain hotel credit card
that just dropped. And that would be the World of Hyatt business card from Chase. Here is the
new bonus that just came out. Earn 70,000 bonus points after you spend seven thousand dollars on
purchases within the first three months of account opening. Now because this is a business card
the spend requirement is a bit higher than it would be on a personal credit card. All right on
personal credit cards often you're getting like 20 points per dollar but this is 10. All right
you're getting 10 extra points per dollar for that bonus spend. It's very average but if you have had
a lot of other bonuses before and you're kind of scraping the barrel as to what you can get or if
you just want to get this card then now's a great time to get it. Hyatt did devalue their points
somewhat in May this year although it's not too bad. All right there's still a lot of value to be
had you can still book the all-inclusive resorts in Mexico like Hyatt, Ziva, Cancun or Los Cabos for
around 25 to 30,000 points a night. I had a great time at those resorts and I thoroughly recommend
them. Also if you haven't had a business card before Chase business cards are pretty easy to
get. Anyone who is a 1099 contractor versus a W2 employee should be able to qualify. All right you
don't need to actually own your own LLC or anything like that. Not sure when this one ends
but it doesn't say ending soon or anything so you should have a few weeks to probably over a month
and just FYI you can only get this bonus if you haven't had a bonus on this particular card in
the last 24 months. If you have had the personal Hyatt card from Chase that apparently doesn't
affect it. All right guys that's the video for today. Happy Friday. Don't forget to sign up for
the Built Dining Program and earn three extra points per dollar on your dining spend. You can
also link your Lyft account to earn extra points on Lyft rides too. The link for that will be below.
Please subscribe to the video if you're new. We'll see you next time. Bye.
