The NHL is TERRIFIED of the Sharks... (here's why)

The NHL is terrified of the San Jose Sharks as they have been ranked among some of the top teams in the NHL for Improvements this offseason in this video we're gonna break down all the moves they made and talk about why they're so high on this list and why the NHL should be Scared and terrified of this team going into the season But before we dive into everything here today, just want to say around the world for 3,000 subscribers here on the channel So if you're new here, you want to stay on all the latest Sharks news around the league We're home for it here on YouTube scramble. Oh hit that subscribe button It is completely free to do so, but let's talk about this list that came out from the Athletic today Dom writer for the Athletics puts out this list every year where he ranks teams on improvements and Their net ratings on what they brought in versus what they brought out And this is where the San Jose Sharks did rank on this list They did rank ninth on this list and I think maybe some of you guys are thinking That's a bit low considering what we did this offseason But I do want to mention this does not take in account the draft at all Like it doesn't take in stem Berg and if it was then we'd shoot up this list even higher There's no doubt about it in my mind It's just off of signings and trades and I still think 9th It is a great spot to be out of 32 in the top 10 and it's definitely They definitely deserve to be in there and just looking at their net rating the added plus 3 which they brought in Mason March mint Darnell nurse and Michael Kessler ring and Jacob Truba and last Eklund Khrushchev Klingberg Mario Ferraro Vincent Darnay and Unfortunately Shaq here Mooka Medullin, I hate to see him go but you know It's just getting clogged in the in the in the defense right now Especially with a lot coming up and a lot that we did acquire in this draft And I think I wanted to talk about in this athletic Our list is Darnell nurse better than Klingberg probably I would say yes is true about better than Ferraro Probably I think I'm about 50-50 on that one. Then they say is Michael Kessler ring better than de Harnais Yeah, I think so They say that's the bet the Sharks made on the back end The problem is that probably was fairly marginal across the board and significant Significantly more expensive the juice probably won't be worth the squeeze. I like that That analogy here by this athletic writer You know, obviously we probably could have kept Ferraro we could have kept a her name and we could have kept Klingberg now, I'm kind of glad we got rid of Klingberg to be honest, but it would have been significantly cheaper to do that but obviously Mike Greer and the front office seen fit to bring in these guys like Jacob Truba I really like that ad I think true but it's going to be a force on the back end for this this year He's a lot more physical Mario Ferraro is what I would say. I mean, he's defensive He has a shot from the blue line at times I do think he's very very sound in his Defensive zone and has been one of the better defensive defenseman's in this league throughout his entire career And you know, I do like that addition It is a bit of an expensive one to bring in but I do think they really needed to work on this defense We talked about it all last season and they went out and they did that and you know what? I think we're better off for it Especially the way things are going they did also go on to talk about bringing in Stenberg and stuff in this article I do want to talk about that as well as you know Stenberg was a big big addition at the draft for this team and you know with that addition coming in It was probably better For you know this team, you know, obviously they lose William Eklund and you know, we replace him by March mint They say it's less value but a different enough element that should help maximize sounds a top six Yes, William Eklund, you know is younger but March mint, you know is a good replacement here Obviously, they got some great value back For Eklund which allowed us to draft Verhoff So, you know the wins a win there and they say an added expanded role for Michael Misa Will be what March mint does provide here and he said the Sharks are a better team on paper Than they were at the start of the summer that and that doesn't include the potential impact of Stenberg either Which will push the Sharks closer to the top five on this list and that's what I was expecting them to be there but when I realized that the draft was not accounted for that made a whole lot of sense right because They're clearly I think top five in regards of improvements when you talk about the rookie class because Stenberg is gonna be a Monster for years for this team And I'm so glad that we got him in this year's draft and can't wait to see what he does provide for this Sharks team Which I do believe is gonna be a lot a lot of offense for years to come but like they do mention here Michael Misa really needs to get it going this is a season where I'm kind of looking at him as You know We need him to succeed, you know, he had a slump his first year, but I do think he's ready to go I do think he is a Second line center in this league and will be and he has learned a lot right and he's going into his second season with a Fresh mind and now fresh line mates, which will really help him going forward And I really just expect to expect a big season out of Michael Misa Going forward because anyone who scores 60 goals at the junior level should be able to be able to do it or not do it But be able to put up numbers consistently in the HL And I do just want to take a look at this lineup from daily face off where they do have you know Obviously sure in the shop celebrating Smith then we see this second one This is what we're talking about right Michael Misa with March mint and Colin Graff Colin Graff had a phenomenal year For us putting up 46 points 21 of those being goals and when you have such a great plane It's like two good playmakers like March mint and Misa here Colin Graff is only going to benefit from that and I really do suspect we will see a big season out of him We are gonna talk about him in just a minute and how his contracts going on because we haven't really seen any Updates and this third line, I think is a sneaky good one here You got Wemberg who can play make and score as well But also win face offs and they have Kiefer Sherwood Who's coming off a 23 goal season put him with Stenberg who's an elite like playmaker elite finisher I think they these guys are really gonna benefit off a young player like this as well and having him with two veterans on this line, I think will really help him mature quickly into into this today's league and I Do want to take a look at the defense right now because obviously we see Sam Dickinson with Jacob Truba I think this is the perfect pairing for Dickinson having that more defensive sound, you know defenseman on his right side You've a hundred and forty nine blocks last year for Jacob Truba Obviously physical player as well and Sam Dickinson, you know He has 14 points last year, but I do suspect him to ramp it up up this season playing top pairing numbers Then we obviously have nurse and Orloff which I think can complement each other as well Orloff had a great year for us last year putting up 34 assists and creating a lot of offense I don't expect him to slow down either and then this third pairing really interests me I really like Luca Cagnone and with the Barracuda and I really do think his jump to the NHL level Yes, we only did see him walk three games last season You know was a small sample size, but I did think he looked like he belonged and looked like he you know Can play these third pairing minutes for the Sharks team going forward and he's just a great passer Right as great vision sound in his own zone And now you have him with Michael Kessler ring another guy who's trying to get it going as well after playing 34 games this season I think this is you know, the the pairing that's the you know Just guys coming together and trying, you know to get their careers going And I do think that he was gonna bring a lot of Bring parts of the game that we were missing when we had Vinny de Harnais in the lineup And I do think these guys will complement each other a lot this season as well But I did allude to this Colin Graff Contract because I see a lot of you guys commenting. We haven't seen a whole lot on the Colin Graff extension anywhere I mean I went looking for this before I record the video I could not find anything The only thing I could find is that Colin Graff is in the 26 27 season trailer Which came out today as I took this screenshot yesterday so I Mean if you want him, you know If you want to make a connection there it kind of seems like he is getting that contract signage as a matter of time before we see it drop and Hopefully it is very soon because we're all big Colin Graff guys here on the channel We really want to see him inked up here so that we can get him going for the start of the season playing on The second line with Michael Misa, but I want to hear your guys thoughts down below in the comment section How you feeling about the Sharks heading into the season? I think I'm feeling really good about this team I guess the title is the NHL's terrified and I do think you know Early into this season. The league is going to realize. Oh god They have built a powerhouse here in the West Coast in the Bay Area Because I really do think this team is gonna run a lot of teams out of their buildings out of our buildings And you know, I just think I'm really high on this lineup I do think the offense is going to be very very fluent this year and no celebrating is gonna have another monster year I'm expecting Will Smith to have a good year as well. Hopefully a full healthy year knock on wood And I really think there's no way that the Sharks don't make the playoffs in the division they're in right now And you know at the deadline I do expect that Mike Greer and this team if they are in a spot where they are competing for a playoff spot Will do what by any means? Necessary to get this team there and make a trade to them to make that Happen to see where the holes are at that point in the season and try to plug them and write and write the ship To a playoff berth, which I do eventually think is coming at the end of this season So let me know how you guys are feeling down below in the comment section Are you as high on the team as I am right now?
