Russian blogger Alexander Gorny , who lives in occupied Crimea and previously supported Russia's seizure of the peninsula, sharply complained about the situation in Russia and on the peninsula. On his Facebook page, he wrote that Russians are fed up with the initiatives and failures of the Putin regime: the recycling tax, rising car prices, the import of Chinese cars, bans on messaging apps and YouTube, rising tariffs and taxes, and a massive fuel crisis across Russia. And all this before the State Duma elections.
The final point, judging by his post, was gasoline. The blogger also stated that people in northern Crimea are rumored to be even angrier. He added that he wouldn't be surprised to see "men with pitchforks." The post is revealing not so much because of its crude language, but because of its author, observers note. This isn't about a Ukrainian activist or an opponent of Russia, but about someone who supported the occupation of Crimea and opposes Ukraine. But even among such an audience, frustration is building against the backdrop of the fuel crisis and ongoing restrictions. For years, Russian propaganda has sold Crimea as a symbol of "return" and success, but now the occupation's supporters themselves are writing about anger, queues, extortion, and a sense of utter impasse. Alexander Gorny is demanding that the Kremlin launch a "strike of total retaliation" against Ukraine to end the war. Otherwise, he warned, Russia will find itself on the brink of extinction.
Gorny calls on the Kremlin to end the war as quickly as possible because acute economic and social crises are developing in Russia. "The chances are growing that Russia will find itself on the brink of a large-scale and severe economic crisis, which will lead to the weakening and collapse of the country... Things have gone too far and too deep. Peace and peaceful negotiations are absolutely impossible; only the complete destruction or capitulation of one of the parties. We can drag it out any longer, but then the lack of gasoline, water, and electricity will seem like a piece of cake. Now they beat people up at gas stations for gas, but they will do it for a piece of bread and a can of stew. Is that what you want?" wrote the Z-patriot.
By the end of the year, Russia will lose the ability to finance the war against Ukraine, according to Russian Z-blogger and "angry patriot" Maxim Kalashnikov. He noted that abandoning the seizure of Donbas and freezing the war along the current front line would be a "massive political blow" to Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin. However, there is likely no other option, as continuing the war threatens Russia's collapse. "A time of difficult decisions, a time of hard choices, is approaching. Because our budget deficit is growing, and there's nothing to plug it with... By the end of the year, we may face the impossibility of funding the war and the security forces. Time is running out. And Zelenskyy has launched his counter-escalation plan at the perfect time. He's found the right moment. The budget situation is forcing us to make some very unpleasant, very difficult decisions," Kalashnikov stated. He clarified that the options are either confiscating bank deposits, drastically cutting spending, or turning on the printing press and devaluing the ruble, which would lead to "stormy inflation" and a collapse of the entire economy. All three options are extremely dangerous for the regime and the Russian Federation itself.
