Total War Rome II Battle of Armaver 3v3 Massive Battles

Hey, what's up guys? This is gonna be the second game in these 3v3 battles We're doing against some clan mates, and I decided to be the barbarians this time. I'm gonna be the Swaybee we have another Arverni player and an Egyptian player, and we're gonna be fighting against again the Seleucids Rome and Sparta and looks like the Seleucids this time have taken chariots and the heavy elephant So that's gonna be pretty bad for us, and we'll just see how this battle takes place anyways It's we as I said before we played for these battles very very cool battles very enjoyable I love the huge epic scale of them anyways um our main strategy can take you from the the up view is gonna be to Mass a barbarian flank here And we're gonna try and charge through and decimate these guys and this guy with the pikes was supposed to come and hold the center However, we'll see how that comes out It looks like the opponents have decided to mass their troops here And we do have even some hidden components a bunch of club levy on my part and Some horses are gonna be moving through the woods with the intention of just overwhelming this flank But look at the opponents are gonna be reforming. Let's go ahead and see what this looks like in this perspective, so I'm gonna be charging head-on towards the enemy and look at this They basically have a huge core of troops here Which on the flank is gonna be held up by these pikes who can easily turn their flank But look at this the Seleucid player likes to play. He did the same strategy last game he likes to play with some either archers or Peltasts in the front backed up with some spearmen and then over here He's gonna have four of these royal Peltasts units basically He's gonna fix up the front with his pikes and swing around with the Peltasts or if possible and then for the knockout blow He's gonna have some heavy cav and some of these elephants and some of these side chariots Which we all know are pretty OP at times take a look at this very very cool See the battle from this perspective. Anyways, they're gonna come and meet my advance right here I'm pushing out with my Swaby Forces here a bunch of these oath swans backed up by some berserkers here and Some ordinized spears, I believe anyways, we're gonna be making a heavy push towards the left flank Over here. We have our Egyptian guy moving up with his Elephants and pikemen in close support. So he's gonna be moving up and let's go ahead and take a look right here He's gonna be moving up through the woods Rome is gonna go ahead and reveal Himself he's gonna be moving up here and it looks like our huge push on this side is turning the entire flank So they're just gonna reform and it looks like this Egyptian player is gonna get a nice attack on this flank here However, the Romans are gonna come and oppose them and keep in mind. A lot of the troops are still hidden here We also do have some Egyptian cavalry here overlooking the battle. Very very cool to see that Let's go ahead and zoom in so we can see right there. So the engagement is starting He's starting to target my men there from a distance It's gonna start moving forward Right here. Helot slingers are gonna start peppering my men I know they're not gonna do too much damage as long as I stay in the wood and present my spear So that's what I do. I reform and looks like they're gonna try and and fully infiltrate me So I'm trying to get my guys here that I hid basically to take him out. So we're gonna get a couple of these Arrows right into these Azzat knights. However, those are heavy heavy cavalry So I'm gonna pull back and move my spear brothers right into the thick of it And it looks like this flank that they presented here is gonna be Maybe sticking out too much because if these elephants can get in and if I can move in some of my My own troops into the mix here. That'll be a good point to attack so I decide I'm gonna charge in with these guys here and I'm gonna go straight for his cavalry Very very cool engagement. I was planning on going straight through to his skirmishers. There's a huge pack there I'm getting a pretty good charge taking out a good number of his men But at the same time he has moved in his elephants looks like we're gonna get another group of elephants to move in the problem Right here is these elephants are gonna be engaging right next to these Roman guys And so if they decide to charge they can just basically throw in there. Oh, it looks like he's deployed backwards That's weird. Anyways, the elephants are all gonna run amok in here gonna be a huge mess I'm gonna start shooting into his own cavalry try and do more damage more and more reinforcements are happening right here and Looks like they're just gonna completely fold their flank now Because it means this whole army of ours that's been flanking he's gonna be just caught moving whereas here they can get local superiority So I'm trying to chase his how it's back and I'm not really looking to engage I'm just trying to get around the flank These barbarian guys are gonna try and move here along with two berserker units and some of my spear guys I'm shooting fire arrows into the mix here. So looks like we have a ton of elephants just going around here These guys have decided to panic. So that's really good. It's gonna be amongst his chariots So that's gonna be a perfect time to to see that happen You even have some of these guys very excited some gladiators in the background some elephants just getting destroyed chariots running amok Anyways, let's go ahead and see what's happening here I'm gonna go ahead and hold him off with my spears These guys are pulling back through here. My spears are gonna try and hold him off He's gonna try and get around the flank and that's where I'm gonna move in with these before I zoom in Let's go ahead and take a look at this Side chariots are gonna go right through my troops here at the same time. I have however gotten some berserkers into the mix here With their huge attack. They should be able to make pretty good work of these guys You can see there are starting to destroy them But we do have at the same time is some chariots who have lost track of moving back there I'm sending in some more berserkers. They're all hyped up. They're ready to go They're gonna be attacking these guys who are pushing through to my forces He's throwing everything at my guys and I figured if I got a bunch of these Berserker troops coming out of the bushes just destroying these guys. That'd be a good move So I'm also gonna have even some some fire arrows coming in through here. Look at this bloody mess in the woods That's very very cool So looks like I thought I could get local superiority by throwing in a bunch of these berserkers and other units in here But we're starting to crack Just the amount of royal peltas thrown in there as well as some of the chairs Which I think landed a rear strike on me. That's gonna be a problem Anyways, we are however getting a pretty significant flank over on that side Over on this front Romans and the Egyptians are facing off Looks like he's chasing off some cav. Elephants are chasing off skirmishers. Elephants are coming back. Over here You have a whole mix. I think this is gonna be up to the Egyptians to win Meanwhile, this main front here is gonna be I'm trying to reposition trying to keep these guys on their toes over here I am starting to lose more and more men, but I think I've come out relatively evenly at least I hope The problem is when these side chairs are gonna come in right through here and crush through the my men right here That's a good move and look at that. They just come right through nothing can stop them Turn around and just come right through for another clean shave of my entire unit. So these are very strong guys I'm surprised they don't do it. Oh, wow. Yeah, I got a good amount of spears thrown in from these guys So I'm gonna get a flank attack on these guys figured it'd be pretty effective So I'm trying to hold down this blob here and the cavalry units rat are halted We're getting a relatively good Flank around these see how I'm getting around his guys Right here. We're gonna go ahead and charge straight through the side of his guys and throw spears all along the front Look at this guy Yeah, he was already bound to die Anyways, get a nice flank attack here and these cavalry try and charge right through you can see even with your infantry engaging at Point-blank range like that. They can do us. Oh my god Wow, friendly fire to say the least anyways, I mean you're collapsing on his flank here He does however put one of these thorax pikemen which are gonna be good enough to hold my guys back These guys are told to attack this flank here But this is gonna be effective enough in holding some of my guys back The rest of these forces are putting on pressure here. So I can't do much I'm waiting for these barbarians to swing around and the Egyptians to come and clean up there However, what's going on right here is you have my troops which kind of like effective flank on his guys are gonna get Attacked by these guys who were routing before and running them up But these bloody elephants are coming in for more look at his chip tusk This is definitely super epic and they're basically gonna come in and I don't have much to counter these forces here They're gonna just mop up my guys size chariots coming in too. These guys are having the best time of their lives Oh, man, I wish I could be driving one of these anyways He's just gonna keep crusading along and look he found a nice little opportunity to come and knock into my guys so these elephants are gonna clean up chariots come and say hi before moving on to the rest of the battlefield and they're Thinking about to do and they decide to turn around Anyways, these guys have finished me off here Let's go ahead and take a look at which units are routing which aren't these guys gonna get wrapped up my units here My berserkers were clean up Egypt. However does have the back here. So that's gonna be very good Let's take a look at this fight, which is where the rest of my guys are elephants. Basically don't care About groups of industry. I I don't think elephants are OP. I just want to say that right now I think they're doing very very well The chariots are what I have problems with but these guys are very epic Especially if you can keep them later in the battlefield and just charge through a clump of infantry like that Very very cool to see and definitely something you have to plan against My guys don't know what hit them. Yeah, make sure you definitely have some of your what was I gonna say some Archers remaining in the bow to ward off those elephants. Anyways, the chariots is where you have the problem Look at these guys just dancing around you just double click and pull through any unit and they can destroy them He's just like it looks like a guy who's on a you know, a casual cart trip through the forest and in the meantime He's just decimating my guys. So they're just here for the scenic of you They're going basically like five miles an hour and they're just ravaging my guys here So chariots are very effective. It looks like we're gonna go ahead and have Not a new box, but a defensive position. I'll say My guys have been wrapped up. These elephants are gonna come back and look at this epic shot right here pikemen running elephant supporting them and they're gonna be moving up here with some more archers and they're gonna come and try and reinforce this Defensive position here. Let's look at this what's performing what's happening right here Egyptians gonna moving here I'm gonna have my lone guys coming back and looks like our gall player is not gonna be the best at attacking I think he's the same guy who played as Rome before So he's kind of just charging straight into spears. Definitely not the best thing to do At least he just engaged one or two units. Anyways, the elephants right here are gonna get in amongst the Gallic Calvary and That is not gonna be good He's gonna try and charge in with some Ptolemaic have and looks like that guy cut off his horse and then just collapse Um, so we're gonna try and get these guys Looks like we're gonna be doing a good amount of damage to them now We've got them held down but reinforcing infantry men are gonna be coming in. Let's take a look at the Banner so you can see what's going on crushing in through here crushing in through here But the main problem is we still have some Seleucus. It's still alive here. We're gonna be raining hell on our guys So let's go ahead and go back into cinematic mode some more guys charging in the main Melee fest is gonna be right through here So this is gonna be a problem because these are pike units They can effectively face off against any of these Gallic units So the charge from the Gauls is gonna be warded back Even though they've been able to get around these Spartans are Hemming them in from one side another study of pikes pikes are holding the line very effectively here and Yeah, they're gonna be able to hold off meanwhile in the back. These elephants are still alive surprise and They're basically helping turn the tide in the center where you had the Ptolemaic Calvary and the Gallic Calvary We're basically decimated by the elephants coming in the missile shooting from all sides and some thorax spearmen Take a look at just these casualties all over the place. Rome does not get more epic than this This this is why I love these 3v3 battles. Take a look at this. We have more going on Let's go ahead and put the flags back on looks like the Seleucids have rally mopped up the center while the Spartan Units were able to hold off the entirety of the Gallic force here. So a good move on our opponents part This is what led to our demise and you can see these chariots are still running around Five out of six chariots are still alive and you can shoot at them all you want It's really not going to do too much damage and when they hit a unit they they destroy them So this is kind of a problem we had in these battles is if an opponent would bring these side chariots It kind of meant that we had to really worry about those otherwise, they could turn the tide of the battle, but you can see the main reason we lost this battle is because some reason my berserkers units, I feel they underperformed didn't do too well and Basically, they ended up Not being cost-effective enough. I wasn't able to break through the spears and our huge barbarian push around this flank the Spartans and the enemy basically just folded up their flank and presented a Twisted wall of spears as Alexander would have done at Gagamela So that's very smart and it basically meant that they could focus the rest of their forces in the center And that's where they threw in their elephants and other Slightly overpowered at least very powerful units I would say into the mix and basically knocked out my elite troops and then broke through our center Even though Egypt won the left flank coming back in he fought Against sort of defensive position where they couldn't crack through because the elephants were still there and there are a lot of missiles Anyways, that's gonna be how this battle went down. Definitely very very epic Very enjoyable battle once again, very cool. And you can just see the remainder of the forces here these elephants still alive I can't imagine how many kills these guys got they even got upgraded to silver because the amount of damage they did so awesome epic Glorious battle to say the least. I'm sure the chariots are Somewhere around here going around and it should be it looks like I think I have one more unit Somewhere. I'm gonna go ahead and fast-forward, but I think that's the the end of the battle right there. And Yeah, so thanks so much guys.
