sunshiny Thursday afternoon 508-996-0500 is the phone number so why yesterday was the first debate
between Ed Markey and Seth Moulton. Ed Markey of course the old curmudgeon who was looking for
another term. Markey's going to be 80 I believe on the 11th. Today's the 9th. I think Markey turns
80 on the 11th and he is asking for another six-year term and Seth Moulton is in his 40s. I
think it's like 44-45 somewhere around there and so of course age did come up in the discussion
last night. This was a debate on WLP-TV 22 in Springfield. It was actually
held between three and four in the afternoon broadcast live and then rebroadcast from seven
to eight and I believe it's still up on their website. You can go take a look at it if you'd
like to do that. It's WWLP-TV 22 in Springfield but Tim Dunn watched it for the Boston Herald.
Thank God he did. That means I didn't have to and Tim says the candidates addressed everything from
Markey's age to Moulton's stance on trans athletes. He said both Moulton and Markey were given 30
seconds to respond to each to each question as well as a 30-second rebuttal. I hate that.
I really hate that. I've talked about this before. I think I talked about it yesterday too.
How do you have a debate when you've got 30 seconds to talk about nuclear war? How do you
explain? How do you sum up your thoughts on anything in 30 seconds? I mean this is the
modern day what they call a debate. It's not a debate at all. It's a showcase for clever quips
and remarks and it gives the TV people a chance to show how smart they are. It's not a debate.
Tim says when Markey and Moulton weren't clashing with each other they were criticizing President
Trump and the MAGA movement. He says it took both Markey and Moulton less than five seconds
to mention Trump while answering their first question which was about Markey's age.
Tim says Markey took three seconds to mention Trump by name while defending his age.
Moulton asked the comment took five seconds to bring up Trump. Both candidates mentioned Trump,
Republicans or the MAGA movement in nearly every single answer they gave
during the entire debate system. On the question of his age Markey says he still feels great.
Markey said we need the worst of Washington to be in the rear view mirror. We need to be looking
ahead to the issues that every single family wants to have fought for and that's what I do
every single day on the floor of the United States Senate. I always get a kick out of
these politicians who have been there since Jesus was a little boy and you know they talk about how
well you know everything's so bad we got to change everything. Okay why haven't you done it?
Now Ed Markey has served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He was then elected to
the US House of Representatives in 1976. Many of you weren't even born in 1976. I was graduating
from high school, New Bedford High School 1976. In the early 2000s Markey moved up from the
House to the Senate. I mean he's been there ever since 1976. 50 years. I know that because my 50th
reunion is this year. So Markey's here fight fight fight fight fight oh we got to change
everything sucks and well what have you done? Dude Markey attacked Moulton on alleged insider
trading saying the sixth term congressman, that's 12 years by the way, has made quote
sweetheart deals with defense contractors that have sat before the House Armed Services Committee.
Moulton sits on that committee. You know another thing that amazes me, so Moulton is a member of
the Armed Services Committee. He's been in Congress for 12 years. Why does it take until now
for Ed Markey to spill the beans on Seth Moulton and his quote-unquote sweetheart
deals with defense contractors? Now if Seth Moulton has been making sweetheart deals with the
with defense contractors, why hasn't Ed Markey told us that before? He's had every opportunity.
He's always on social media giving his little rant speeches. Why hasn't he told us before?
Why has he waited till now? Why has he waited until Seth Moulton is threatening his job
to tell us essentially that that Moulton is a crook? If Moulton did not decide to challenge
Markey, would Markey ever tell us that Moulton is a crook? What congressman Moulton has done
is he has taken advantage of sweetheart deal opportunities which private equity companies
have given to him to invest in companies like Aura and Divergent that appear before the Armed
Services Committee said Markey. And he's been allowed to invest in those funds and he has now
reaped millions of dollars of opportunities from those investments. Again, why is it now that
Markey's telling us this? If you have knowledge that somebody is committing crimes, are you not
obligated under the law to say something about it? Maybe, I don't know. If you put your hand on
the Bible for 50 years vowing to uphold the Constitution of the United States and all of
the laws of the land and everything and you know this guy Seth Moulton is corrupt and you don't
say anything until Seth Moulton decides he wants your job, what does that say about your character?
Being corrupt and making sweetheart deals for defense contractors is okay as long as you stay
over there in your lane and don't bother me. You bother me, I'm going to tell everybody that you're
a crook. Yeah, it's kind of like the way the Democrats including Ed Markey and Seth Moulton
have looked at this clown Platner up in Maine. He can wear a Nazi tattoo, he can harass Purple Heart
veterans, he can sext women, you know, he can do all of these different things and it's fine
as long as he wants to run and maybe help us take control of the Senate, that's fine. We'll forgive
all of his transgressions, right? So, Ed Markey was fine for 12 years looking the other way while
Seth Moulton was enriching himself and never told us about it. Is this the kind of guy you want in
the U.S. Senate? Somebody who is going to withhold that kind of information? You've got an elected
congressman who's enriching himself by doing sweetheart deals with military contractors and
you don't tell us about it? Is that the kind of person that you want to trust in Washington?
Tim says Moulton took kind of a cautious approach on the issue of Markey's age instead expressing
the respect he has for Markey's half century of service in Washington before going on to claim
that the quote current establishment just isn't working, adding that we need new ideas and a new
playbook. Moulton addressed the trans athletes and girls sports issue that came up as a question.
If you recall, he stated on the record that he didn't want his daughters
quote getting run over on the playing field by a male or formerly male athlete.
He got an ass whooping from Democrats and from the Democrat media for saying that. He first,
you may recall, defended his opinion before kind of walking the comments back, right?
Because when you want to run for Congress, you want to run for the Senate, you'll say anything.
It doesn't matter. You know how he feels. Guy went on national TV and said, look,
I don't want dudes in dresses beating up my daughters on a basketball court.
That's how he felt. That's how any man would feel. But of course, men in politics,
while that's a totally different breed, you sacrifice your daughters to the LGBTQ plus,
plus, plus trans community. You don't want to offend them because you want their votes.
So he walked it back rather than showing some balls and standing up for what he believes in.
That's why I despise politicians. But Moulton wanted it clear. He said, and I quote,
let me be clear to anyone out there listening tonight, anyone in the LGBTQ community
or anyone else. I stand with you because I've always stood with you.
And I have been I have seen the play. I have seen the pain that you are going through because of
this hateful Trump administration. This from the same dude who said, I don't want men in dresses,
you know, kicking my daughter's asses on the basketball court. I saw the light, I guess,
right? When he was pressed about what he what his stance really is on men and women's sports,
he said, and I quote, this is a crisis. And I'm very proud of the fact that I have a 100%
voting record from the Human Rights Campaign. I have your back because I've always had you back
and I will have them in the future. But of course, the reporter sat there drooling and
marveling over, you know, that wonderfully well rehearsed answer, because, you know,
you know, Moulton knows this question is coming. So we had this all memorized. This was all this
is the 32nd thing. I've got 30 seconds. Write me a 30 second response to this question that I know
is coming. But of course, the Dingbat reporter never thought for a moment to say, excuse me,
dude, but you didn't answer my question. What do you feel about guys with junk playing basketball
with your daughter? What do you think about that? I mean, that's the way I would have said it.
I would have said you have the nice flowery stuff. You're pandering. You're pandering to
high hell here because you want the gay vote. But what do you really feel? You said you don't
want dudes in dresses playing basketball with your daughters. What do you really feel about that?
Don't tell me about I got your back and I feel your pain and all that kind of crap.
Answer the question. But the press doesn't do that because they're not smart enough
to know they're being bamboozled by a snake salesman. Markey in response, says Tim,
said Moulton threw trans kids under the bus. There's a clear difference between my record
and Congressman Moulton's, Markey said. After the 2024 election, Moulton decided that he was
going to throw trans kids under the bus, the political bus, and blame them for the loss of
the 2024 election. Those kids are vulnerable. Those kids need love. Those kids don't need to
be scapegoated and blamed for what is wrong with the Democrat Party. Both of these people,
I wouldn't invite either one of these people to come into my house, Ed Markey or Seth Moulton.
I wouldn't invite either one of them. I wouldn't even allow these either one of these guys to
watch my dog. And isn't it a shame that this is the choice that so many Massachusetts residents
face on September 1st? I'm trying to figure this out. I want to do an Operation Chaos.
You know Operation Chaos, right? Operation Chaos was launched by Rush Limbaugh back in 2008.
When Hillary Clinton was going to be the anointed, not that Rush Limbaugh gave a damn
about Hillary Clinton or whether she won the election or not. But Hillary Clinton was promised
by the Democrats, Ted Kennedy and all of the Democrats who sold her out that she was going
to be the next female, the only first female president. And then Barack Obama came along
and they dropped her at the altar. And they'll back Barack Obama instead. And Rush Limbaugh
stirred up a little bit of controversy and a little bit of fun, had a little bit of fun
and told his listeners who were registered independents or unenrolled to go out in the
primaries and vote for Hillary Clinton, even if they didn't want her, even if they didn't mean
go out and vote for her. Obviously, if they're unenrolled and they're listening to Rush,
they didn't want either Clinton or Barack Obama. But he said, you know, if you're unenrolled,
because here in Massachusetts, if you're unenrolled, you can vote in either of the
two primary elections on September 1st. You can grab, you go in and they say, well,
what are you registered as? Well, I'm a registered Republican. OK, here's the Republican ballot.
I'm a registered Democrat. OK, here's the Democrat ballot. But if you're unenrolled,
you get to make a choice. You go in there and you say, I'm unenrolled. They say,
well, which ballot would you like? Aha, thus Operation Chaos. So I've been kicking this over.
I'm trying to figure out which way would be better to create chaos for all of the unenrolled in my
audience to take that Democrat primary ballot and vote for Seth Moulton and help eliminate Ed
Markey, get rid of Markey. Ed Markey is like that mold that grows in your basement. You know,
how do you get rid of the damn stuff? It's been Operation Chaos. We can get rid of Markey.
And you say, well, Barry, Seth Moulton's young. He's only in his 40s. If he gets in,
he'll never get out. We can deal with him. I think that Seth Moulton might be easier for
John Deaton to defeat. We can have, you know, unenrolled people. We can have it. We can have
an impact on this race. We can really make it tough for the Democrats. Ed Markey is the anointed
and he's the endorsed. We can get rid of Ed Markey. If every unenrolled voter or maybe
are a Republican and you want to change your affiliation to unenrolled right now
for the primary because you change it right back, change it right back as soon as you vote,
it goes right back. But maybe you want to become unenrolled for the primary
so that you can take a ballot and vote for Seth Moulton.
Believe me, I think he's a sticky, gooey guy. I have no interest in seeing Seth Moulton
being elected. But if we got a choice, who would you rather put up against Deaton?
Would you rather put up Markey? Or would you rather put up Seth Moulton? I think we have a
better chance against Seth Moulton. We can get rid of him after two years if we have to, if he does
win. Ed Markey will be around for six years. We got to get rid of Ed Markey. So I don't know.
What do you think about Operation Chaos? 508-996-0500 is the number. I'm going to grab a
real quick break. Your calls are important and they're next in WBSM. Back to Barry Richard on
WBSM. Call 508-996-0500. We is back. It's 132 on a Thursday afternoon. 508-996-0500. Thank you for
hanging on. You're up next in WBSM. Hey, Barry, how are you? Good. How are you doing? A little
more humor today, but we're going to have to get through it. You know, in the city,
we've been treated for fools in the city of New Bedford. It's like I told Chris,
our property taxes have gone up 25 to 30% year over year. Now we've got $32 million. Nobody
seems to know where all that money went. And then remember that you're talking about the voting
presidential elections up there in the far north end. Yeah. Yeah. Moving company too,
with the voting machines. Because the city doesn't own them, they rent them or lease them,
whatever they go about doing it. And they put a sign out the wrong date to vote and the wrong
polling location. So they had the arrow pointing to a location that wasn't even the place that
they were supposed to vote at. And not only that, we also had a problem, as many problems that's
during election time. And then we know about the many over a thousand ballots that weren't there
for Republican ballots. And plus the tabulations from the voting machines didn't match with the
physical ballots. And then it took us the following day and we're still going through it.
You know, the Mayor John Mitchell belongs to the No Better Club. That guy was a federal prosecutor
and he let this guy continue to do this over and over and over again. If it's found
that this wrongdoing and illegalities, then I think that we should put this whole thing with a
recall to the Mayor Mitchell and get him out of office. Because voter election integrity is
very important. And you had a little audio clip of a guy that comes on about the founding fathers.
And it's, the founders want us to correct anything that's wrong. And this mayor,
he just wants to sweep everything under the rug. Whether it's the elections, whether it's the
crime in our city, and this $32 million he keeps pointing at the state, it's the states to blame,
it's the city councils to blame. We're being treated for fools, like dummies.
Well, you know, in defense of Mitchell, and Mitchell and I have had our disagreements,
believe me, and you know that. Mitchell is documenting what he's talking about,
so that you can look at it and you can see exactly what he's talking about.
You know, has every penny, every nickel been spent wisely? That I can't tell you. But,
you know, how many times did Mitchell go to the city council and say to the city council,
we need to move our labor unions on to a, excuse me, a more affordable insurance plan?
Because that's the, you know, between healthcare and salaries,
pardon me, those are the most expensive items that we have.
And the pensions.
Yeah, and you've heard the mayor talk about the charter schools. Now that's out of our control,
because the school committee and the state dictates on charter schools. But the mayor
is able to come forward every time when he says, when he gave his speech, he says, look,
you know, this is what I said, and this is what the council did. Or this is what I said,
and this is what the state did in terms of local aid. He's able to give you dollar amounts to go
back more, you know, it's not just rhetoric saying, well, you know, the council, the council's not
helping, the state's not helping. He's able to document it. And so far, nobody has challenged
that documentation to say that it's not true.
Right, well, whether it's Black Lives Matter, where he kneeled in solidarity with them,
badmouthing the police, the illegal alien that wasn't cooperating with ICE officials,
and he took the side of the illegal alien. And he comes across as a moderate, he's no moderate.
Here we are, the guy's a big spender, and we've got $32 million in the hole.
We're paying 25% to 30% more, increasing out that year over year. We're putting up with this
crap, with a mayor that'll sweeps everything under the rug. We're sick and tired of it.
We can't pay any more taxes than what we're doing now for inept in the corner office, corner office.
Well, but let me ask you this, because you and I have had this conversation for the,
I've been here over 10 years, and we have this conversation every budget year. What are the
options? That's what I'm saying. Somebody needs to run for mayor. But what are the options? I mean,
you talk to even politicians, I had you, I think you heard him, and I had Leo Shokat on.
And Leo Shokat is certainly no fan of the mayor and his budget,
especially since that fire station would close in his district. And I asked him,
Leo, is there any low hanging fruit that you guys haven't caught yet? And he said, no.
So I mean, it's one thing to rail and say, and in terms of Black Lives Matter,
that's a whole separate issue from the money issue. It's easy to say, well,
where is the money? What can we cut to balance the budget? I mean, the mayor makes the case,
and we all know this to be true. Pensions, healthcare, salaries,
state and federal mandates for our education department, bingo, there's the money.
Yeah, but we can't touch that because then they tell us they're gonna cut the state aid.
Well, that's the point. We're gonna get less money. That's what Mitchell is telling you.
Well, that's what Mitchell is telling you. You got a council, and look, Mitchell made his whole
big speech, right? And he said, look, the retirement board is meeting next week. We can't
have the retirement board go in and vote for another increase for the pensioners because we
don't have it with 32 million. What did the retirement board do? They went in and voted
for the increase. You got the council. You know who's gonna pay for it? We are.
I know you are, absolutely. We can't pay no more because if we got inepts
both in the state delegation, and you're talking about it, Markey,
at the federal delegation, state, and some of our city politicians, and a bunch of inepts
that keep bringing up the bill, we can't pay no more.
We're in crisis mode here. Plus, we're filled with illegal aliens. It's about time that DOJ
comes in here and looks at the election commission. What about all the illegal aliens that are feeding
off of us? The other day, I was at Market Basket. Had an illegal alien there, all kinds of ribs
stacked to the top. I am trying to pinch my pennies to make sure that I can pay for it when
I go to the cashier. And they got all kinds of meats and everything piled to the top.
Right, Maura Healey and the Attorney General Campbell and your state reps like Tony Cabral.
I don't know what district you live in, who's your state rep, whether it's Tony Cabral or
Chris Hendricks or Chris Markey. That's Chris Hendricks.
Chris Hendricks, yeah, it's Chris Hendricks. When did, did Chris Hendricks vote to reform
SNAP benefits? Absolutely not.
No, of course not. Have you heard Chris Hendricks even call for a reform? No,
I hear Chris Hendricks and all of the other members of the delegation say,
well, Trump's trying to take food off of people's tables. That's what they tell us.
Instead of, they don't listen to people like you that are pinching pennies.
They want to feed everybody in the world that's poor that wants to come across the border.
And they think you should pay them the bill on it.
You know what they don't wanna tell you, Barry? They're taking food off of our tables,
off of working families, off the handicapped, off the veterans, off our tables. And they're
giving it off to illegal aliens. My friend, Fall River, $20 million to put lights on the
freaking Braga Bridge. And Maura Healey and Kim Driscoll are bragging like this is the greatest
accomplishment since sliced bread. While people are starving like guys like you are in market
basket pinching your pennies. I mean, this is the reality of it. So when Mitchell tells you
these people are squeezing us to death, he knows what he's talking about.
Yeah, I know, but there's a lot of things on his watch that he's turned a blind eye on.
Well, those things are different. We can talk about those too. But I mean, if you want to talk
about the financial aspect of it, he's not lying to you. And he can show you and he has,
line by line by line by line. This is the financial situation that we are in.
And the city council says, yeah, well, we're gonna go out and we're gonna cut money from
the utility bill so that the libraries can't put the heat on this winter. I mean, that's their
answer to doing to dealing with this rather than saying, OK, fine, let's vote to move the public
employees on to a different health insurance plan. Yeah, well, it's whether it's between
insurance, property insurance and auto insurance, health insurance, electric and gas
and your property taxes will be squeezed. I mean, we're being put into poverty.
You know what pisses me off? It's all about illegal aliens. You know, you talk about market
basket coming through the market basket parking lot and onto Cogsall Street yesterday. I think it
was. There's a nice little tent city set up there. I don't know if you've noticed this.
Right. Where is that? Yeah, it's right right on Cogsall Street where you come on off the highway.
You come off of, you know, 195 and onto Cogsall Street. There's a nice little tent city set up
there. They had all their clothes hanging on the fence along Cogsall Street to dry yesterday.
They must have got wet in the rain. You know something? You can't live that way.
You are required by city law and state law. You've got to have you going to have heat in your place.
You've got to have running water and it's going to be inspected and it's going to cost you a lot
of money. You've got to have proper running toilets. You've got to make sure the Department
of Health says. So why are these people allowed to live that way? That's what I'm saying.
They're punishing those of us that worked all of our lives and those who continue to work hard to
pay their bills so that we can continue to support illegal aliens and all other people.
And the grifters. Yeah, the grifters that stand on the corner and beg for money. I was also going by
the Black Whale recently. One of our nice restaurants in the city in New Bedford down on
the waterfront tracks tourists from all over the place. And it was a tent set up in the bushes
directly across the street from the Black Whale. I don't know whether that's still there. I think
that's McCarthy Boulevard. I'm not sure the name of the street. A tent right across literally
across the street from the Black Whale. I don't know whether that's there or not. Now, I thought
we were we got permission from the Supreme Court to rip those things down. And I don't know why
that's still allowed to happen. I heard there was a tent city on Riverside Park somewhere.
And at the end of Route 18, I don't know if that's still the case, but but the thing is,
I don't want to go on rambling on and on. But my last point is that we've worked hard all our lives
and many are out there working hard, especially our fishermen and all the others. And yet we're
paying taxes and taxes. We're being ripped off and put into poverty while we're taking care of
people, illegal Indians and other people that don't deserve it, that don't contribute anything
to society in any way. Thank you, my friend. I got to hold you there. 508-996-0500. We're coming
right back. Back to Barry Richard on WBSM. Call 508-996-0500. All righty, 146 on a beautiful
Thursday afternoon. 508-996-0500 is our phone number. Thanks for being here. Appreciate it.
And so the House of Representatives, we just passed a was a $63 billion budget, right? Sent
it on to Maura Healey. She hasn't signed it yet. She's got a couple more days. I think she got two
more days to sign it. But the House has passed now less than two weeks after approving the
63 billion dollar budget. House has passed a 561 million dollar catch all bill, more spending.
And what a catch all bill is, is a lot of the amendments and proposals that didn't
get to work their way through. They all go into one big bill, one big amendment.
So this little piece of pork pie, 561 million dollars worth approved by the House and it's
going to go on to the Senate, all kinds of stuff. Yeah. After adding about 136 million dollars to
the bottom line with the 63 billion dollar budget, they have now approved that last night,
a 561 million dollar catch all bill. It's a half a billion, more than a half a billion dollars.
An economic development bill the legislature generally takes up every other July,
tends to become a vehicle for representatives end of session priorities that they haven't
been able to move into another piece of legislation, right? It's the State House
News Service. Among the policies embedded within the mega amendments were authorization for
municipal policies, granting tenants of multifamily buildings the right to first refusal
when the property is up for sale. A gambling expansion to allow simulcast centers
to take bets on historical horse races and electronic terminals or on electronic terminals
that casino say are essentially slot machines and via smartphones.
Also a requirement that motion pictures getting state tax credits include a credit and logo
stating that it was made in Massachusetts. Also a tax credit for digital game development
companies, a pilot program to allow some uses of psychedelic substances,
a system for issuing electronic IDs, a grant for program focused on recruiting and retaining
master's level social work students from historically marginalized and low income communities.
Other notable funding that representatives added about 1.5 million for Worcester to develop the
Memorial Auditorium into an artificial intelligence innovations center and entertainment
facility. $500,000 line item for grant program for employers to help current or former workers
who are authorized under the federal temporary protected status program.
You know, the ones that are getting shipped home. Oh, there was another piece to that too.
The bill is, it also contains, it's buried in the bill, a plan to let Massachusetts compost
and dissolve human remains. In other words, toss human remains on a compost pile. That's part of
the economic development bill. $561 million worth that was approved by the House last night.
You're next in WBSM. Thanks for hanging on.
Gee, Barry, if you had enough social engineering for one day, knock it off, will you?
I called to talk about the recall thing that's being bandied about, but I happen to have seen
a piece that said the one on human remains in compost piles came to him from some morticians
or something because they had that request from people in their wills that they wanted to be
mixed in with their compost pile and, and, but how it passed it beyond me. I mean, I said,
no offense guys. I thought we had a few more important things to talk about.
Yeah. I don't know whether it'll get through the Senate or where it's going to go,
where the Healy will sign it. But this is an amendment that they've been trying to
get done for years and years. And so far it hasn't gone anywhere.
Very, very quickly, uh, for Graham Platner, if he'd only run in Massachusetts, I mean,
we elected Ted Kennedy six times after he left a girl to die in his car. I mean, who, who could
ask? I mean, did the democratic party have some sort of an epiphany, uh, 50 years after a chap
acquitted for something? I mean, I vaguely, I said, the poor guy, I mean, he picked a long
state to run in. If he only run here, he'd been all set. Got the speaker of the house shutting
up people for sexual harassment. Ask Diana desirably about that one. If you're wondering,
since he just picked a long state to run on the recall thing, I've been involved in a couple of
recalls. And interestingly enough, number one reason that people gave me when we were out
trying to collect some signatures for one to start it for knots that they gave for not signing.
It was, they said, I don't think this is how we should go. And I expanded that. And my own
thoughts said, recall seemed to be if somebody has committed a criminal act or engaged in some
sort of behavior, that's, that's unacceptable or unethical and immoral. And as opposed to
the whole idea of a term, whether you're a mayor or city councilor or president is that you get
elected. And at the end of the term, you get judged on your policies and then doing things
politically in terms of policy and budget. Just, I want to recall you cause I don't like what you're
doing. That doesn't seem, that seems to undercut the, you know, one of those basic elements of
what makes our democracy as unique as it is to continue to work. But I think the thing that
needs to be said about recalls is number one, the number of signatures required, I think number one
should be a percentage of who voted in the last election. As opposed to a percentage of the total
voters in the city. Correct. Correct. Because I still don't feel that if you had an election,
we had an election in Rainham for the biggest debt exclusion district town. We had 158 people
out of 11,000 voters vote. Now there were people who wanted to challenge the validity of the vote
based on how many people voted that, that, you know, that wasn't even a quorum of the town meeting,
which was 200 at the time. But I think that things need to be put in a proper perspective
and context. And that if people don't vote, and then there's a recall and a bunch of people who
didn't vote in the other one, you kind of give them people two bites at the apples.
But I, I, I gather fall river has in their recall, uh, bylaw that you can't file for one
until a certain number of days after the election. And I'd like to think that if it's just for
political reasons, you should have to wait at least a year, but on filing for a recall,
I think you should have to state one specific act or vote that the person you're wanting to recall
is part of the reasons you want to recall. I'm going to hold you. I got to get this break in
before the news, but I don't even think you should be recalled for a vote. I mean, I think
there has to be some really extenuating circumstances for, um, a percentage of the
voting public to undo an election. And I don't know whether it'd be criminal or,
you know, something along those lines. Um, I don't think just because you don't like my vote
that you can go out because you can, you can convince people to sign up for anything
and to do anything you want them to. So I'm not sure just, um, um, I have trouble.
I had trouble with this after fall rivers because it just seemed the threshold was so low.
And, um, so I know we're going to have to see about that. Hopefully we'll talk some more about
it. Thank you, my friend. I got to get a break and we're coming. All right. The New Bedford
mayor's office has officially responded to the news that we will have the, um, the department
of justice in New Bedford about the election. Uh, this is a quote from Jonathan Darling,
public information officer. Uh, while no official communication has been received by the city
or the board of election commissioners to date.
