AI GeneratedGospel Guitars reviews the Cruise Tools Packet, a comprehensive guitar setup kit. Despite initial skepticism about such bundles, the reviewer is highly impressed by the tool quality, the sturdy organization of the carrying case, and the inclusion of a helpful instructional manual, concluding that it is a worthwhile investment for guitarists who perform their own maintenance.
Hi Gospel Guitars here and today I'm going to do a review
on the Cruise Tools Packet for guitar players.
So here we have the kit and I thought about getting one of these
time and time again just I always see things like this
pop up in the online stores and I always think about getting them but
I never do. This time I was rather impressed with the assortment that's in
it and once I received it yesterday I was
really impressed with the quality so I thought
you guys need to know how good this kit is. It comes in a nice sturdy
plastic gig bag there and it's got a nice sturdy zipper on it.
Is this an unboxing? I don't know if it qualifies. It's an
unzipping okay.
Everything comes, it's got a little pocket for everything
pick pocket up here and this here opens up
and has a nice size this is a full size pocket back here and it comes with this
instruction manual on how to do your own guitar setups so if you've never
actually learned how to do guitar setups it takes you step by
step and it's got a place where you can write in your own
measurements for your own guitar and it's got good references as starting
points and it just goes through setting up
your truss rod and and your nut and your string action and
your bridge and nothing too sophisticated but it
does a good job of explaining how it's done and
you can put extra strings in here or other types of tools
for like we got a Floyd Rose and it's got
you know pretty much all of these hex nuts should take care of you there but
depending on what you have you may have
your own special tools that you like to keep in there too.
It comes with a capo which I was kind of like you know I don't
even like these kind of capos but I was like going why do they include a capo
well the capo is used as your third hand when it comes to setting up
your truss rod so you can put this at the first fret
and then hold your finger at the 12th fret or so
and take your measurements for your truss rod
so that's that's why they include this in case you're wondering like I was
it's a tool kit but they put a capo in it it's kind of huh
so yeah they're handy for a third hand um it looks like a decent quality
string winder most of these just you know they get
all wiggly and loose and stuff this one looks
fairly well built it's got a nice screw inside holding it together and it does
have the slot for your acoustic pins to pop those out
um I do have a planet waves winder but it doesn't have the slot on there
so it's like well I guess it's used for electrics only
um these pockets aren't actual pockets they're more of an elastic
strap and um they just flex so when you pull things out
they're not just like a rubber fixed length
strap they will adjust um to hold whatever you need the uh
the quality of the tools I was pretty impressed with the quality of the tools
um the screwdriver is a uh six piece basically it's got your
your larger size um screwdrivers on one end and the
smaller sizes for your phillips and standard at
the other end but when you pull them out these are actually
used for truss rods so you actually have two
different truss rod sizes you can use I won't get into all the specifics there
but it feels like a nice good it grips good in my hand
it's a nice it's plastic it's not rubber um but it just has a good tactile feel
to it I like it um it has all of the uh
all of them all the hex wrenches you need
they're color coded um between gold and black for USA and metric
and some of them have you can see that a ball end on them
there we go so about half of them have that
and they have obviously as you can see there's a ton of them here
um and they are all separate they all will pull out separately
the another thing that was kind of impressive to me was this is spring
loaded so it's uh nice got nice rubber grips on
them and uh they seem to be really nice
quality as well now when you get the kit the
metal the metal in here is coated with an oil
and um this is really wet um this has all of your
fine fine measurements and it's got a bunch of them too all the
way down to like 20 thousandths of an inch I think
no wait um 18 16 so it goes really really really low
some of these the the this one's like paper thin right here
super thin so it's got a nice selection there but these are all
if the camera can probably see that I don't know if it's going to show but
this is really oily so you need to wipe off all this stuff
because you don't want to get this on your guitar
don't know what it would do with the finish personally but
I don't want to risk it the one thing that impressed me
the most that I wanted the most out of the kit was
this bad boy a really decent six inch ruler with all the measurements
that you need and this goes down to on the um
imperial side of the ruler it goes down to
a quarter inch of it is in 60 fourths measurements
I don't know if it's going to show on the camera I don't know if I can line it
up right hopefully that'll focus if I can get the
light out of it very good ruler everything is the thing
that surprised me too is the ruler is not just
black print on stainless steel all of these lines
and measurements are actually engraved into the ruler
and then filled with black ink now the really cool thing
is on the back the back has a cheat sheet for how to do all your measurements for
your setups and it'll cover truss rod bridge pickup
height and bridge intonation it tells you
where to measure at the condition the specification which is the measurement
for the part all just kind of a little quick cheat
chart right here on the back of the ruler which I think
that's really cool so this is actually designed for us
guitar guys who like to work on our own guitars it's not
if you go out and buy a six inch ruler and 60 force and
and metric measurements at the hardware store you're not going to get the cheat
folks I mean it's just you're going to have to remember so
it's nice to have something that's actually for guitar to fill this purpose
so I was kind of surprised I was really
iffy on buying it at you know 50 plus dollars um but I'm
here to tell you that it's not a waste of money this is a really
really nice kit it's very high quality in my opinion
I've used tons of tools over the years and
I'm always skeptical about buying these so-called guitar kits
that state they're high quality this one really is this is really a nice kit
I really suggest that you know if you want to work on your own guitars
or if you want to learn to do your own setups you know you need this kit
plus it comes with the instruction manual which is really nice touch
it's thin so it fits right into your gig bag
so when you're gigging out you can just take it with you and always have what
you need to work on your guitar so that's just as quick as possible
review on the kit and
because I don't know about you guys but I always look at them and want to
see more of them in the guitar mags and things like that but all you get is this
shot and you don't have any idea what the quality is
but I don't know if there's any other videos out there on this but
I thought I'd spit mine out and I hope you enjoyed watching I hope it
helped you make a decision I don't work for these people they don't give me any
money but when I get something that I'm
impressed with I'd really do like to pass it on to you guys
so I don't do a lot of reviews but I think this one really deserved it it's a
good kit I'd recommend it highly so that's it I hope you like the video
