Saint Mary Cathedral in Sydney is generally approached on foot from the city through Hyde Park.
Entry is free.
Well worth the visit.
The current building is built on the original land the first church and second temporary church was built which was destroyed by fire.
Archbishops Polding laid the foundation stone for the present cathedral in 1868.
The two southern towers spires were built in 2000 with the assistance of a grant from the Government to mark the new millennium which gives it a more elegant look.
