Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe presenter reviews and tastes beer-marinated pork belly slices with beer cheese sauce purchased from Asda for £4. After examining the packaging and ingredients, he prepares the meat in an air fryer. While the product looks appealing, he finds the texture too rubbery due to the fast cooking method and gives it a 5/10, suggesting slow-cooking in an oven instead.
How we all doing out there? I hope you're all absolutely spot on.
Now I've been shopping to Asda, come and have a look what I got.
I was having a little walk around Asda and I noticed these.
Oh pork, I do like pork.
Get match ready.
She's jumping on the back of the world cup out there but it's just pork belly.
Beer pork belly.
Pork belly slices.
Pork belly, old trading places.
What a cracking film that is.
They're marinated in a beer flavor barbecue glaze with a sachet of American style beer cheese.
Wowzers.
Beer cheese.
710 grams, contains alcohol.
There is the serving suggestion.
We've got a few little, we've got a traffic light system and that's each
grilled quarter of a pack contains.
We've got a GB stamp.
Used by 10th of July.
So this is the part I tell you the price.
Well it's got it on the front.
They were four quid and I got them from Asda.
So let's take a closer look at this belly pork.
Would you like a bit of pig?
All right, we've had a quick look at the front.
Let's go around the back.
So they're 710 grams.
We've got rindless belly slices marinated in a beer flavor barbecue glaze
accompanied by a sachet of mature cheddar cheese and ale sauce.
We've got a little bit more information there.
Nutrition.
If you, if you want to have a look at that and pause it and study it.
We've got the barcode there for the dieters out there.
And crack on.
So we've got, we've got allergens in there.
Look, we've got belly.
We've got pork belly, 85%.
We've got beer and cheese sauce, sachet 11%.
Allergens of milk, barley, wheat, mustard.
Yeah.
The allergy advice.
Allergens, including seals, containing gluten.
Same ingredients in balls, which is covered.
Packaged in a protective atmosphere.
No artificial colors, flavors or hydrogenated fats.
Warning, contains alcohol.
This product contains raw meat.
Extra care has been taken to remove bones.
Although some may remain.
Cooking instructions.
The best results removed from the fridge to 20 minutes prior to cooking.
Yeah, these have been out about 10 minutes.
By the time I get them in, it'll be 20 minutes or thereabouts.
I'm not timing like.
Yeah, grill.
That's how I'm going to do it.
Packed in the UK with pork from the UK and non-UK countries.
Suitable for freezing.
Right, I might have covered everything.
If I do miss anything out, I'll put it in the description of the video.
So let's get this open and see what we've got.
Let's see how many football, football jokes we get now with this one.
How many football puns.
Let's do the seal peel test.
Oh, look at that.
Absolutely.
It's passed the seal peel test.
There's more cooking instructions under there as well.
Look, if you want to, if you want to follow them as well.
Look.
Yeah.
You can do them in the oven or air fry.
Yeah, I'm going to do mine in the air fryer.
It's a great candidate for it.
And there's your sachet there of cheese sauce by the look of it.
I will get that out.
And I do wash my hands as well.
I know there's very health and hygiene conscious people out there
who watch beer and cheese sauce.
It contains milk, barley, wheat, gluten and mustard.
Right, let's get these in the air fryer.
So I've put them in the air fryer.
I've noticed I've put them all, I've got a liner
because I'm going to pour that cheese sauce over them.
They go in now for 12 minutes at 200 degrees.
And after 12 minutes, you put the cheese sauce on
and they go in for another two minutes.
So that's what I'm going to do now.
So I have washed this now and dried it.
So it's nice and clean.
And I've just been looking for a tab system.
There isn't one.
So we're going to need some scissors on this.
Right, so I've had 12 minutes now.
I need to get this cheese sauce.
And so I've got some scissors.
I'll just take, I'll just take that bit off.
Oh, I touched that then.
It was hot.
So I'm not going to put them on them all.
I'm just going to put it on a few.
Because I do like to try them as they are.
I know they've got marinade on them.
I'm just going to splodge it on like that.
I think that's how it's showing on the serving suggestion.
And I'm quite happy now I've got a liner in there
because it will sort of stop going on the actual...
I'm trying to do this and try to talk at the same time.
I can have a multi-skill, multi-task.
That's the one.
Yeah, I just don't want to get it really dirty.
Yeah, don't tell my wife I've been multi-tasking.
I'll have endless jobs to do.
That's not a good thing, is it?
So I'm going to get them out on here.
Oh, that one's dropped.
That one's wanted to get out.
All right, that one, quite quick.
And I'll show you them.
See what I like.
There's a few there.
700 grams, I think.
Oh, another one's gone as well.
These tongs, slippy.
It's that cheese sauce, isn't it, and the grease.
Right, I'll show you these now.
I'll just get rid of this.
Yeah, that's what we get.
I'm going to get one cut in half.
And I'll show you.
Show you, not show you.
Show you.
Look at that pork belly.
The old trading places.
Dan Aykroyd.
Remember that one?
Who's the other one?
Jamie Lee Curtis.
Yeah, I can't forget her.
Fantastic film.
Right, let's try it.
Eddie Murphy.
Oh, Beverly Hills Cop.
Do you remember that one?
Brilliant films.
They don't make them like that anymore, do they?
So let's try this.
So I've cut some off there.
Cheese.
It's not smelling cheesy and it's not smelling aily, I'll be honest.
But we will try a bit.
I'll get that bit there.
And if you like what you see, i.e. the video,
maybe consider subscribing if you've not.
I can't ask for any more than that.
I do thank you.
So let's get stuck into that bit there.
Now the trouble with these,
trouble with cooking them in the air fryer on a high heat,
they've gone a bit sort of rubbery.
I like to do them in the oven.
I like to slow cook belly pork on a low heat
and render all the fat out and get nice and crispy.
And you can chew them a lot easier.
They've gone a bit rubbery.
I'll be honest, they've gone a bit rubbery.
I was following the air frying procedure.
I know it's only a procedure.
I'm going to try that bit there.
So they're marinated as well in a beer and barbecue glaze.
It's like my jaws on an elastic band here.
I'll finish this off.
Yeah, I mean, they're all right.
That cheese sauce is, it's cheese and ale.
I'm not picking any ale up in it at all.
And it's mildly cheesy when it's cooked.
Yeah.
For me, I would do them in the oven.
You're going to do them, do them in the oven.
Turn the temperature down and cook them a lot longer.
It says like 14 minutes, you know.
You know, maybe it's going to kick off soon.
You want to get them, do them in the air fryer,
but you'll be there.
You'll be like,
trying to eat them, you know.
Your jaw will be going up and down for ages.
Do them in the oven, cook them longer.
Yeah, but there's quite a lot of meat on them.
You know, looking at them,
you can buy them, can't you?
And a lot of them is fat.
I quite like the fat, I must admit, I do.
I eat it all.
But these are quite meaty bits of belly pork.
Right, marks out of 10.
Well, I'm going to mark myself down here
for how they were cooked.
I've let myself down.
I should have known better.
There's a song there, isn't there?
Yeah, so I'm going to go five out of 10,
five out of 10 for taste,
because I've ruined them.
I've ruined them.
But they do look quite good.
They do look all right.
And if I had to put that cheese sauce on them,
I could have stuck them back in.
I could have put them back in on the bake setting
rather than the air fry setting
and done them for longer.
But I'm going to eat them like this.
I'm just going to have it.
Next time you see me on a video,
my jaw is going to be that big.
It's just full of muscle.
I've been chewing these.
Chewing on life's gristle.
Stop and have a whistle.
Monty Python, yeah.
No gristly knees, no bones.
Right, thanks for watching.
I do appreciate it.
