Chasing turquoise water and granite peaks on the trail to Colchuck Lake, Washington! 🏔️ This alpine gem sits in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness near Leavenworth, about a 9-mile roundtrip hike with roughly 2,300 feet of elevation gain. The trail follows Mountaineer Creek through forest, crosses a couple of log bridges, and gets rockier as you climb — but the payoff at the lake is absolutely worth it, with Dragontail Peak towering over one side of the lake and Colchuck Peak right beside it.
