Obsession's Inde Navarrette Gets Ready for Dior at Paris Fashion Week | Vanity Fair

This is my first time in Europe. I'm crying looking at the Eiffel Tower. It is right there. And it is massive, oh my God. Whoa, there's a river! Are you happy to be in Paris? Oui! Hey there, I'm Indy Navarrete, and we are getting ready for the Dior show, so come on in. This is my first time in Europe. Welcome to Paris. I haven't seen the Eiffel Tower yet. Don't tell anybody. I haven't seen her yet, but I'm gonna see her later. She shines every night, or she doesn't? Every hour. That's so f***ing cool. I love fashion. I feel like I've loved fashion growing up, like specifically with Bratz dolls. I just feel like this is much more elevated, so I'm Dior's Bratz doll. I would love to walk the runway one day. I just feel like it's so fierce. Watch this, watch this. I'm gonna model on the runway. This is me next year, I'm just gonna. Dior, did you see that? Put me on the catwalk, please. We're doing a very simple look today. Our dress is white and very beautiful, and I really love natural looks, and then maybe doll it up later for tonight. I mean, we're in Paris. This is insane. I'm losing my mind. Are we ready for makeups? Yay! Do you have any pre-event rituals? Getting drunk. No, I'm just kidding. Having a good team is a good ritual of mine. We have Kaley and Mark, because I get really nervous during these things. I hide it very well. Not very well. So I guess the pre-event ritual is having fun with people that don't aid in the anxiety of everything. And we order coffee, and then we pop champagne earlier. So coffee, champagne, coffee, champagne. Coffee, champagne. The last month, I mean, it's crazy. I'm just gonna be so honest with you guys. It's crazy. It's fun, though, and it's also just so cool meeting people who really love the art and really love obsession, even though it was made for such a little amount of money. And just the fans. The fans are a lot of fun. Job opportunities. I mean, I'm at Dior. Actually, let's just start with that. I'm going to a Dior show today. That's changed. Didn't have that opportunity beforehand, and this is just awesome. The image that I had of Paris was cigarettes, wine, coffee, Eiffel Tower, shopping, shopping, and shopping. And everywhere that I go, I get in trouble because I have to buy more suitcases. I have a shopping problem. And it's not really a problem. Everybody else has a problem with my shopping problem. Because her dress has a little bit of a ballerina flair to it, we're just gonna keep it very simple, very sleek, very French. This face is gonna be just about that moneymaker in the front. Being considered extremely influential or of the moment right now is simultaneously really empowering and also really scary because I want to make sure that I'm using this opportunity well. Sometimes I get a little sad that I'm a part of the movie because I don't get to experience what everybody else is experiencing. I experience it on a different side. But it was really cool. Basically, it's somebody taking me streaming like Call of Duty and then put whenever Nikki kills Ian's character in the movie. That's what he sent to me. Cooper did, because I kill him in the movie. Sorry, Coop. Off you. We got my nails done. You wanna see my nails? These are actually my real nails. I grew them out. We're on the natural vibe now. Natural vibe. I tell myself whenever I'm in moments like this just to take it all in because you never know when it's gonna go away. And this has always been a dream of mine. And so you just take deep breaths in, deep breaths out while also chanting that I am a thug. I'm a thug. I'm a mobster. I'm a gangster. Famously, thugs tell themselves that. Famously? They have to say it. Yeah, every thug wakes up in the morning and goes, I'm a thug. Because the outfit is very ballerina-esque. I really wanted to keep this sort of like a slick back ballerina. And then I wanted to add a fan because, are you joking? I'm gonna be insufferable with this one. For a month after Obsession came out, I only wore heels because I really wanted to be able to walk on carpets. So I'm not even kidding you. Cooked dinner in heels. Walked to the store in heels. Doctor's offices in heels. Driving in heels. It was all heels. You did a good job, mama. Thank you. It's you. Shut up. Let's do your lip. Let's see. This one? This one's like a little darker.
