This House Was Designed Around Trees and Levels

Casa Ouro Velho does not try to overcome the slope.

It uses the slope to organize everything.

Set on a hillside surrounded by the Atlantic Forest, the house follows the natural fall of the land instead of erasing it. Different levels shape the interior, while gardens, voids, and cutouts allow vegetation, light, and breathing space to enter the experience of the house.

The result is not a house placed on top of a flattened platform.

It is a house that follows the hillside.
Preserves native trees.
Creates gardens between spaces.
And turns topography into the logic of daily life.
