SpaceX DOUBLE Starship Flight 13 & 14 Testing in Line! Ramps Up for NASA Artemis to Moon in 2027
“I think this was the beginning of June, maybe a month away, we could push away from Flight 13, and then we should fly every month.” (Link)
Many people still have doubts about Gwynne Shotwell's prediction—especially her statement that Starship could eventually launch every month.
But SpaceX is already beginning to demonstrate that this goal may be within reach by rapidly advancing testing for both Flight 13 and Flight 14 hardware—and perhaps even beyond.
Could Ship 41's upcoming test campaign mark the beginning of Starship's monthly launch era? And will SpaceX be able to keep pace with NASA's ambitious Artemis schedule?
Let's find out on today's episode of Great SpaceX.

Like many of you, I was surprised to see Ship 40 return to the Production Site despite successfully completing its single-engine static-fire test.
At first, the most likely explanation seemed simple: SpaceX just wasn't ready for a full six-engine firing.
But now, another possibility has emerged.
SpaceX has already shifted part of its focus to Ship 41—the vehicle assigned to Flight 14.
The first clues appeared on the evening of June 24, when the cryogenic test stand was moved to the Production Site.
Soon afterward, multiple road closures were announced to transport hardware from the Production Site to Masseys.
By the morning of June 28, the cryogenic stand had already been positioned inside Mega Bay 2.
Later that same day, Ship 41 was lifted onto the stand and rolled out to Masseys—the very site Ship 40 had only recently departed.
That development exceeded many people's expectations.
After all, most assumed Masseys would remain dedicated exclusively to Flight 13 testing.
Instead, SpaceX immediately began preparing Flight 14 hardware.
That alone is a strong indication that development is accelerating.
With Ship 41 now at Masseys, testing could begin almost immediately, stretching from the final days of June into early July.

That campaign will likely include cryogenic testing, followed by the vehicle's return to the Production Site.
If everything proceeds as planned, this could become the first time two Starships complete major testing only days apart.
That's a significant milestone.
Starships are among the most critical pieces of flight hardware, and they typically undergo extensive inspections before another vehicle enters the testing flow.
