Slovakia's Biggest Steam Train Event | Zelený Anton, Papagáj & Štoker RENDEZ 2026

RENDEZ 2026, the 26th edition of Slovakia's largest railway heritage event, took place at the Railway Museum in Bratislava and featured an impressive line-up of steam, diesel and electric traction. Among the stars of the event were 486.007 "Zelený Anton", 477.013 "Papagáj" and 556.036 "Štokr", joined by international guests MÁV 424.247 "Bivaly", ČSD 431.032 "Ventilovka" and ČSD 331.059 (GYSEV 124).

Slovak railway heritage vehicle clubs presented the steam locomotives 310.433, 477.013, 486.007, 555.3008 and 556.036; diesel locomotives T 211.0823, T 334.001, T 458.1079, T 466.0254, T 478.1131, T 478.2011, T 478.3109, 750.182-8, T 678.012 and T 679.1168; and railcars M 131.1125, M 131.1538, M 152.0160, M 152.0625, M 262.0128 and M 286.018.

One of the most unusual exhibits was Eg 6, a locomotive from the Vienna Tramway system, brought by the Club of Friends of Urban and Regional Public Transport.

International participants included steam locomotive MÁV 424.247 "Bivaly", presented by the Hungarian company MÁV Rail Tours, as well as the interesting steam locomotives ČSD 431.032 "Ventilovka" and ČSD 331.059 (GYSEV 124), brought to the event by Výtopna Dolní Lipka and Muzeum starých strojů a technologií, z. s. Žamberk.

The state railway operators also presented notable vehicles. Železničná spoločnosť Cargo Slovakia appeared with electric locomotive S 499.0001 "Laminátka" and one of its modern locomotives, while Železničná spoločnosť Slovensko brought electric Class 350 locomotives 350.008 and 350.020, both carrying attractive period liveries.
