A peaceful early morning walk through the tiny village of Barton in Gloucestershire, nestled in the beautiful Windrush Valley in the heart of the Cotswolds.
Despite its small size, Barton is full of character. Quiet lanes, traditional limestone cottages, rolling countryside and the gentle sounds of rural life create a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. With so few houses, it feels more like a hidden hamlet than a village.
There is no talking or music in this video, just natural sounds, birdsong and the calm rhythm of the English countryside.
ABOUT BARTON
Barton is a small village in Gloucestershire, located near Naunton and Temple Guiting in the Cotswolds. The village sits beside the River Windrush and has been recorded in historical documents since at least the 13th century.
What makes Barton unusual is its size. Historical records from 1779 show that the village consisted of only seven houses and forty four inhabitants, making it one of the smallest settlements in the area.
Like many Cotswold communities, Barton developed through agriculture and the wool trade, which shaped much of the surrounding landscape. Today, it remains a peaceful collection of beautiful limestone cottages surrounded by rolling countryside and the tranquil scenery of the Windrush Valley.
