Russian infiltration tactics are intensifying, but there are problems: some of their troops attempting to penetrate our rear are abandoning their weapons before even reaching the green zone, in order to advance faster and save their lives. This was stated on Channel 24 by Volodymyr Chernyak, an officer with the Rubezh Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine.
He noted that the situation in the Rubezh brigade's area of responsibility has not changed significantly to date. "The enemy primarily deploys infantry, since manpower remains its most abundant resource," Chernyak added. According to him, even within the Russian military, service members deployed in infiltration tactics are considered suicide bombers. The defense attorney explained: "The Russian army has several such lower categories of soldiers. The first are those who carry ammunition to their positions and expose themselves to great danger, since this occurs practically within the fire zone and they can be destroyed by Ukrainian drones. There are also those who are recruited for infiltration tactics and considered suicide bombers. They understand this and are trying to survive, so they shed all unnecessary equipment; some even keep their weapons."
According to him, the infiltration tactic involves traveling on foot over distances of several dozen kilometers. He added that every kilogram is crucial, as the enemy is aware that they could be tracked by a Ukrainian drone and could be spotted, so they try to escape with minimal cargo. He noted that the enemy in the Pokrovsky direction is using a large number of drones.
He also reported that, in parallel with their infiltration attempts, the Russians are accumulating manpower and equipment in frontline settlements under Russian control, which indicates they are preparing for new attacks, the number of which will increase.
Recall, Russia is not abandoning its goals in the war against Ukraine.
A senior NATO official told reporters that Russia's casualties already exceed 1.4 million troops . He noted that during the full-scale invasion, Russia suffered "between 1.3 and 1.45 million total casualties, of which approximately half a million were fatalities."
He added, however, that this does not stop Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, who remains steadfast in his goals in the war in Ukraine. "Furthermore, we see no signs of significant changes in the pace of military operations or preparations for a major Russian offensive in the near future due to the declining effectiveness of Russian forces on the battlefield," he emphasized. He said that, despite this, the Russians continue to operate at high intensity along the entire front line, especially in the Pokrovsk sector, and are striving to advance toward Dobropillia. He also added that the Russians' goal is to take control of Kostiantynivka. A NATO spokesman said urban fighting was expected to "continue in the central part of the city for the foreseeable future, with Ukraine's ability to resupply seriously compromised by the use of drones." At the same time, in the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russia’s advance remains minimal.
