LA VILLE DE ANTALYA
Antalya est une ville du sud-ouest de la Turquie dans la préfecture de la province du même nom.
Antalya est aujourd'hui la capitale touristique de la côte méditerranéenne turque, surnommée la « Riviera turque ». Elle est visitée chaque année par plus de 15 millions de touristes. Ce qui en fait une des villes les plus visitées du monde.
La vieille ville d'Antalya, Kaleiçi, s'allonge au flanc d'une falaise abrupte en contrebas de laquelle se niche un ancien port, aujourd'hui port de plaisance moderne.

Depuis sa fondation en 150 av. J.-C. par Attale II, roi de Pergame, qui l'appela Attaleia en l'honneur de son fondateur. Les Romains, les Byzantins et les occupèrent la ville avant qu'elle ne tombe sous la loi ottomane (Turcs). Elle fut alors nommée Adalya.

Avec l'annexion par Rome du royaume de Pergame, Attaleia passa sous domination romaine, qui deviendra ensuite l'Empire romain d'Orient, aussi nommé Empire byzantin, et ce jusqu'au début du xiiie siècle.

Lorsque l’empereur Hadrien la visita, en 130, durant son grand tour de l'empire, il entra par un arc de triomphe, la porte d’Hadrien, construit en son honneur que nous visiterons. C’est à Attaleia qu'aurait débarqué l'apôtre Paul, avec ses compagnons Barnabé et Marc, lors de son premier voyage en Asie Mineure (45-49 ap. J.-C.).

Avant d’arriver à Antalya, nous visiterons le site romain d’Aspendos et son superbe théâtre magnifiquement conservé pouvant contenir jusqu’à 25 000 spectateurs lors de combats sanglants de gladiateurs. C’est d’ailleurs sur ce site que la chanteuse Dalida y a donné son dernier spectacle en 1987, avant sa mort tragique.

Nous parcourrons les petites rues sinueuses de la ville se trouvant à flanc de montagne. Nous visiterons le musée archéologique romain.

THE CITY OF ANTALYA
Antalya is a city in southwest Turkey in the prefecture of the province of the same name.
Antalya is today the tourist capital of the Turkish Mediterranean coast, nicknamed the “Turkish Riviera”. It is visited each year by more than 15 million tourists. Which makes it one of the most visited cities in the world.
The old town of Antalya, Kaleiçi, lies on the side of a steep cliff below which nestles an old port, today a modern marina.

We will travel through the small winding streets of the town located on the mountainside. We will visit the Roman Archaeological Museum.
