How to draw and crosshatch trees | cozy drawing session with ambient music
Join me in the calm of spring, drawing among the trees.
This episode is dedicated to trees. I focus on crosshatching as a drawing technique for studying them — using layered line work to build form, light, and texture in the sketchbook.
The video includes a series of studies: four tree drawings leading up to a final piece.
No talking , only drawing and soft music.
Crosshatching becomes the main tool for this study — not just as shading, but as a way of constructing volume and atmosphere through rhythm and direction of strokes. Before the final drawing, I practice basic studies of light and texture, then move into a sequence of tree drawings exploring different densities and line movements.
Materials:
Sketchbook
Drawing pens: Uni-ball Fine Line Pins (0.1, 0.6, 0.8)
