Scientists Analyzed the DNA of 442 Vikings — Most of Them Were Not Blonde
Vikings were not who you think. Scientists at the University of Cambridge
and University of Copenhagen analyzed the DNA of 442 Viking skeletons
from across Europe and discovered most of them had dark hair, not blonde.
Some weren't even Scandinavian. Many were buried as Vikings but were
genetically Scottish or Irish. Based on the largest Viking genetic study
ever published in Nature (2020), this is the real face of the Viking
Age — and it will change everything you thought you knew.
