Today, we're diving deep into one of the biggest environmental myths out there: RECYCLING. Yep, you heard me right. Recycling as we know it is largely a scam, at least in the United States. And no, I don’t mean that in a “don’t recycle at all” kind of way, but in a “we’ve been led to believe it’s the ultimate solution when it’s actually a last resort” kind of way.

I’ll cover why the recycling system in the U.S. is horrifically broken, what really happens when we send materials overseas, why it’s the weakest of the 5 R’s of zero waste, and what you should actually be doing instead.
