I planted 160.000 trees on my Portugal Homestead

Over the past 6 years I have planted more than 160.000 trees on Quinta das Abelhas, a syntropic agroforestry project in southern Portugal.

What began as an experiment to adapt Syntropic agroforestry systems to the Mediterranean climate slowly evolved into a living laboratory for the relationship between agriculture and living systems.

In this film I document the journey from beginning until the present moment.

Today the farm contains 10 experimental agroforestry fields integrating forestry species, fruit trees, vegetables, cereals, cover crops, and native Mediterranean biodiversity into one interconnected system.
