Anna Gourari - Tchaikovsky: The Seasons, Op. 37a: V. May. White Nights

Still in her early twenties, the Russian pianist Anna Gourari was already hailed as one of the brightest new voices of her generation when she appeared at the 1992 Munich Klaviersommer, filmed in the Philharmonie im Gasteig.

Her programme traces a vivid arc through a century of piano imagination: from the storm-lit virtuosity of Rachmaninov’s Étude-Tableau in C minor to Hindemith’s sly wit in the Nachtstück and Ragtime from his Suite Op. 26.
