The speaker shares a glimpse into her daily life, combining home improvement with wellness and fashion. She visits a garden center for plants and herbs, discusses a gut-health supplement, and reviews a new cookbook. The video also features an extensive fashion haul where she evaluates various outfits for fit and versatility, concluding with reflections on mindful reading habits.
Good morning, guys.
Oh, how are we all doing?
I hope you're all well.
I have a spare moment today,
and I thought I would pick up the camera and vlog.
We have a couple of things on the agenda today.
Tom and I, we're gonna take Barney for a walk
and maybe pop to the garden center en route out
or en route back, I'm not sure.
I really want to get some plants, flowers,
shrubs, I'm not sure yet.
Ignore that, I've been bitten.
Hopefully it'll go down.
And was it last night, maybe?
We do like evening golf,
there's always little midges out and about
and obviously on your face, how annoying.
But yes, I want to do that today,
so I thought I could take you with me
because it's been a while
since we've done a little garden center trip.
I'm gonna go get some bits for the planters
that I'm talking about.
For those of you, I'll show you when I get back
if, depending on what we get,
I'll show you what they look like
and what we've gone for.
But yeah, by the back door,
we have little planters that hold the doors open,
so they're empty at the moment and they need filling.
So that's on the agenda for today.
Look what also recently arrived.
I am so happy that Emily English brought out new books.
She's brought out the So Good Express cookbook
and the recipe books, her other two
that I've got that I absolutely love.
Oh, look at this, I've already had a flick through.
I definitely want to make these maybe one day next week.
If I make anything, I'll definitely include little photos
and maybe even share it on my Instagram or something.
But apple and cinnamon breakfast muffins,
it sounds so delicious.
But anyway, yeah, this is her latest release,
so I've been having a little flick through her recipe book.
Speaking of, Emily English, who is a nutritionist,
she is the founder of Epitome.
Let me go get my Epitome just to show you,
because I have mentioned Epitome before.
Take one capsule a day.
And because it is founded by Emily English,
knowing that it's a nutritionist that founded this
gives me all the faith and belief.
I actually first started taking Epitome,
I want to say over a year ago now,
and they are a little symbiotic duocap,
which looks like so.
When I say duocap, it's a capsule within a capsule,
which helps the 11 bacterial strains,
the clinically trialed 11 bacterial strains
reach your gut alive.
So the whole premise around Epitome
is to support gut health.
And I know like over 70% of us
suffer with some kind of digestion issues,
bloating, gas, some kind of upset in that region,
which is a high statistic.
So I know a lot of you watching
will be within that statistic.
I was included.
And for me, it was something that I noticed like
bowel upset, digestion issues,
for me was quite related to like anxiety
and worries and stress and getting overwhelmed.
And they do say the gut is your second brain.
It's kind of like your whole body's connected, right?
My gut was the first thing that told me
something's not right.
So just by incorporating this every single day
has been a massive help.
But I noticed also when looking into this online,
a lot of people they've said,
because it is to do with your gut health,
that also stretches to other areas.
So I know a lot of people that suffer with like eczema
or skin issues, psoriasis,
they've also noticed a benefit.
So if that's also something like an area
maybe that you suffer with,
it might be worth giving these a try.
They're a great company to work with.
They are very kindly sponsoring this part of today's video.
But like I said, I was looking into this as a customer
anyway before even working with them.
And given that I had already followed Emily English online
and saw that she brought it out,
I just, I have faith and trust in her
knowing that she knows what she's talking about.
If you are a subscribing member, which I personally am,
if you get a subscription model,
you end up saving a bit of money,
which I would always recommend doing.
You will also save even more money on top of it
with my code, which I'll leave on the screen
and linked in the description box below.
Freya Tan gets you discount
on top of the subscribe and save option.
Or you can just try it as a one-time thing.
The thing is with supplements though,
I always feel like you need to give them a good try anyway.
So it's worth maybe opting for that subscription model
initially just to give it like a really good shot.
And also, you know, if you decide it's not for you
or you want to switch things up or something happens
and changes in your circumstances, it's a cancel anytime.
So you're not locked into a 20-year agreement
or anything like that.
However, at this point I feel like I'm locked in
because I can't imagine not taking this now.
So yeah, I just wanted to mention that
whilst I have that offer currently available
so that if anyone is wanting to try it out,
now's the time to do so.
And if you want the science behind this,
50 billion CFU within this,
along with a couple of other vitamin D3, biotin, zinc,
but all the information about this
is obviously on their website.
If you wanted to get in depth with the science behind it,
what's included, how it helps,
hopefully you guys will jump on board
and benefit from these too.
Yeah, I'll leave a link to them in the description box.
I am so excited.
I'll flip through this.
Honey Ricotta's stuff today.
She's actually got a whole sweet section as well.
Tuna Cucumber Bites,
Cronation Chicken and Lettuce,
Cheddar and Apple Plowman's Plate.
I love a picky plate.
Anything like this, I always have done.
My grandma and I used to call them picnic plates
whenever she'd come over and we would,
if she was ever babysitting us or looking after us,
what do you want for dinner?
I'd always have a picnic plate, please.
And it would be something like this,
like a bit of cheese, fruit, ham, crackers.
She always used to do us a couple of boiled eggs,
just a picky plate.
I absolutely love that.
That style of eating.
Ooh, One Pan Creamy Mushroom Tortellini.
I feel like I can't show you
every single recipe in this book,
but I'll actually leave this book linked
on my Amazon storefront,
which I'll link below as well
because this is going to be a well-loved book
within this household.
The fact that it says Broccoli Gardener.
The fact that it has this within the title
is all the more music to my ears.
The gardening clogs on.
Crocs, I should say.
We are back from the garden centre
and I'll show you my box and balls,
which I've bought for the planters.
I'll show you those in a second,
but also we've just carried these up.
Tom's got a selection of herbs,
which I think we're going to see how well they do,
maybe potted or even just pop them
in the herb beds over at the bottom of the garden.
We'll see.
I don't know if they're a bit small for that just yet,
but we have got some oregano, some thyme,
some basil, sweet basil.
Got some sage, oregano back there.
This is coriander.
Oh, more basil.
Good, because we love basil.
And more coriander.
More sage back there.
Is this a variety of basil?
Oh no, don't eat that.
Away from the herbs.
Basil purple.
I have never seen purple basil before.
Who knew?
Thyme, purple sage.
And that's everything.
I've got those little balls.
They're actually the perfect size.
When I first came home, I was like,
oh no, I think they're going to be too big.
Somebody's a bit wet.
Did you go swimming today?
You little wet, stinky dog.
You wet, stinky dog.
Are you going to sunbathe and dry off?
I'm just trying to show everybody my balls,
my bumps and balls.
Want to come out of the way?
Come out of the way.
Can you go back?
Down.
No?
Okay, I'll move.
There we go.
We have it.
Our little kind of makeshift doorstops.
Whilst we've got the doors open,
but also rather than just have them empty,
we've actually now finally got something in them.
We definitely need to give this a bit of a jet wash
and a sweep up.
Yeah, perfect size.
Let's see if they stay this pretty.
That's now our aim.
And we have got some soil to top them up as well.
Just been trying on some bits
that I've got from 4th and Reckless.
And I've also got a maybe order
that I wanted to unbox and try on.
So I thought I would show you guys what I've ordered.
So I've got an occasion where it's going to be
like a kind of midday to 3pm brunch type
girls outfit that I need.
Some are going on for drinks afterwards, but I'm not.
So I don't want to be too dressy.
And I thought this would be a really nice option
for 4th and Reckless,
which is like a bandeau.
And it's in this kind of like plissé fabric
in a chocolate brown with the matching trousers.
I got the trousers in a 12, so the 12 fit me perfectly.
I'm glad I went for the 12.
However, the top is a little bit big in a 12.
So a 10 would have been better.
I have just popped a little like hairpin in here
and just hidden it so that you can't really tell.
And I think it works.
So I think this could be the option
and the other option that I've got is like a baby blue.
So let me show you, this is called the Olivia set.
I think the blue one is called Agatha,
but let me try it on.
So this is the blue set.
The trousers, again, fit perfectly in a 12 for me.
I'm like in between 10 and a 12.
And I always remember from previously ordering
from 4th and Reckless that I,
like a 10 is always just a bit snug for me.
So I went for a 12, they fit fine.
The top also is a 12 and this one fits a bit better.
No need to pin this one.
And it's got that silicone thing to help keep it up.
But it's just funny, isn't it?
How one top, I need that extra,
like a 10 would have been perfect in the previous set,
but I haven't got enough time to send it back
and reorder a 10.
So I think I'll stick with that
because I do think this one,
although I like it, obviously just ignore the creases
that you'd need to steam out.
But if I'm not keeping it, I don't want to steam it.
So I think I am gonna, I'm swaying towards the brown one.
I do love a baby blue, I do.
And especially at this time of the year.
I don't know if it's because it's satin, maybe.
It's making me feel a bit like, whoa.
And I just feel a bit more comfortable in the brown.
So I think I'm gonna stick with the brown, I think.
But anyway, let's get the Maybe box open, which is exciting.
So you know, it's my first ever time ordering from Maybe.
Never bought anything from them before.
So we'll see what it's like.
Firstly, to note the packaging is beautiful.
Love it.
So I've got a few different sets,
three or four sets, I think.
So let me just try and work out all the matching sets
and then we'll get trying on.
Oh, this is the one I'm really excited for.
I'll try that one on first.
I love it.
This is the set that I saw her wear on,
I think it was her baby shower.
And I was like, that is a set that I need in my life.
Although she tried another one on her vlog as well,
which must be coming out in the part two
of the summer collection,
because one of those I couldn't see in this drop.
So maybe she's bringing that one out.
But yeah, this is gorgeous.
It's a kind of like a fine knit pointelle type fabric,
but in like a kind of stripe.
And then how pretty is the detailing on the bottom?
It's in a buttercream, not lemon,
it's like a butter, buttercream color.
I really like it.
The waistband on the bottom of the top
just kind of like sits quite nicely like this.
It just fits really well.
And although it's a pointelle fabric like this
with nude underwear, it doesn't look sheer at all.
So I really like it.
Yeah, big fan.
And because it is that slightly thicker fabric,
it doesn't show like any kind of like cellulite lumps
and bumps.
The fact that I feel confident in this,
given that it is a fine knit, I'm really happy with it.
I got the top and the bottoms both in a size 12,
which I'd say is perfect for me.
And they're quite long as well, which is nice too,
because I love a longer leg length,
even though I'm only, well, I'm five foot six.
So it's long enough to be able to wear heels with it,
which I love.
Even flats though, it's not silly long on me.
And I could just pull them up a little bit more, I suppose.
Oh, I love this.
I feel like I'm gonna keep this up.
Now, this order that I put in was a pretty chunky order.
Given that it was my first order,
I thought, let me get a few bits to try.
But it was pricey.
It adds up.
And I'm like, oh, I don't really want to be keeping it all.
But if this is anything to go by,
I feel like I might have found a new brand I love.
Okay, let me try on this blazer.
This is in a size medium to large.
It's called the Boxy Blazer in Cream.
I think the size below that was available
was extra small to small,
which I'm definitely not extra small.
So that's why I went for the medium to large.
However, if it is too boxy for me,
then I might feel a bit silly.
Let's try it on.
Oh.
Okay, I don't think I'd wear it with this.
No.
Oh, I don't know if that feels a bit...
The shoulder pads are huge.
I don't know.
I feel like I'm not cool enough for this.
I'm not cool enough.
I think with a little white tee and jeans,
I'd probably wear this blazer.
But I don't know.
Too much for me, I think.
I love this dress.
I was surprised this wasn't one
that sold out straight away,
because it's a three-in-one.
So not only is it a beautiful dress like this
slightly sheerer skirt,
and then this panel over the top
with asymmetric design off the shoulder.
It's got the amount of ruching right
to have a layered effect.
I just think it's beautiful.
It's a lovely fabric as well.
But yeah, it's a three-in-one.
So the skirt is separate to the top,
so you can easily wear the top
maybe a bit more casually with jeans.
You could wear the skirt.
I think they styled the skirt separately
with the blazer and a little bralette underneath.
The skirt, I will say, I've got this in a size 12.
And the skirt is quite low, the way that it sits.
So I wouldn't want to have got a 10, I don't think.
So yeah, I'm glad I went for the 12.
I don't know if I'd wear the skirt on its own.
I definitely would wear it as a dress though.
I think it's gorgeous.
It's such a lovely buttery soft fabric.
Really like it.
I don't know when I would wear it.
Maybe given the color of it,
I suppose if you were a bride-to-be,
it'd be a nice kind of like hen-do dress
or night before the ceremony dress.
It could be a nice holiday piece in an evening
if you're wanting to dress up for a dinner or something
as a full dress.
But the top, I would wear quite a lot
with jeans and a nice top-type outfit.
So yeah, really happy with this one.
Right, this is, I think this is called the Pauline set.
It's quite a dressy set, I would say.
Quite like a thick fabric.
Obviously separate, so you could mix and match,
style them separately.
As a little set, they work nice.
The little zip on the jacket goes from the bottom
as well as the top.
I've not got anything on underneath it though,
so I'll keep it zipped up for now.
But the trousers sit a little lower
than I'd like them to be for a size 12,
but they have got belt loops, so I could always belt it.
And I don't know if a 10 would feel a bit too small maybe.
And then also, they've got this really cool design
on the bottom, where if you wanted to,
you could button them up.
So if you can see there, you can make it
into more of like a cuffed bottom with a heel,
which I think just makes it a bit cooler,
a bit dressier and a bit more unique.
But obviously, I like the fact that that's not an essential.
You've got the option of having the wide leg as well.
So yeah, I really like this.
You know, actually this could be an option
for the girl's branch with something different
as the top could be like an extra layer with it,
but maybe a little top underneath as well.
Ooh, this could be an option, you know?
Okay, well, we're not doing so well so far
with returns, are we?
I've got one more set to try on.
This is called the Away Day set,
which is like an old classic that they do
in a few different colors.
I went for the cream.
So we've got a very similar color palette
with this order as well.
But I'll try that on as like a comfy everyday set.
Fingers crossed we hate it.
This point, I'm panicking a bit.
What we're gonna send back, I don't know.
Houston, we have a problem.
I like this too.
I don't know what to do.
Because a part of me is thinking this actually
is a bit more like comfy, more wearable,
might get more cost per wear out,
something like this,
than the last one where it might just be
like an occasion type thing
to wear those trousers and jacket.
Or will it?
Because mix and match in them.
Or maybe because this is kind of like,
for me, this is like a casual set
because it is like a soft rib.
It's the matching cord.
I mean, it has got shoulder pads,
which make it a bit dressier.
But for the most part, it's quite a casual fabric.
And realistically, am I gonna wear this out
and be comfortable wearing it out?
Yeah, maybe.
Don't know.
I might send this back.
Only because I've got everything else.
Because if I had only ordered this,
this would have arrived
and I'd go, oh yeah, I love it.
So comfy, like a bit dressier with the shoulder pads.
Could wear the top with jeans.
Could wear just the bottoms on a nice casual day at home,
even just with a boxy white tee.
I'm gonna have to have a good, hard think.
Because the other thing is like the dress,
I love the dress,
but how often am I gonna wear it as a dress?
Probably more as like a one occasion,
two, three occasion type thing.
But the fact that it's versatile
and it's a three in one,
and especially the top, I love.
I would definitely wear the top more often
with that jeans, nice top and heels.
The blazer I'm gonna send back
because that does feel a bit too boxy
and a bit too cool for me.
I'm not a cool girl.
I can't be cool.
So maybe, well no, definitely that will go back
as for the rest of it.
I'm swaying towards this going back.
I do also really like this.
Decisions, decisions.
Oh, it's kicking off out there.
I've just made a start on my new book,
Yesteryear, which I think I showed you this book
in my last vlog.
But so far, so good.
I always feel like even just getting a chapter in
will just help put your foot in the door with a book.
That's how I find anyway,
given that I am not like a natural reader,
which is bizarre because I so enjoy it.
I just love getting lost in a book.
And my default method is always pick up my phone,
scroll TikTok, watch a YouTube video,
put on some TV.
And that always is my default.
And I really feel like I gain a lot more
and I get more mentally stimulated by picking up a book.
I feel better for it.
You know, when you like exercise or eat better,
you feel better after doing it
and you feel good for fueling your body and mind
with something positive rather than negative.
I never exercise and then feel rubbish afterwards
or like feel like, oh, wish I hadn't done that.
And same with reading.
So that goes to show, whereas scrolling,
I do sometimes think I've just wasted an hour there.
So anyway, yeah, recommended so far, so good.
Let me know if you're reading this alongside me too.
But yeah, I'm gonna close off today's vlog here.
I hope you guys have enjoyed spending the day with me.
Of course, thank you so much for watching today's video.
I hope you guys have enjoyed spending the day with me.

along with a link for you to be able to refer back to,
enjoy it, take advantage
whilst that discount code is available.
And yeah, thanks for that and for working with me.
Thank you, of course, to you guys for watching
and for your patience over these next coming weeks,
few weeks, I don't know how long it's gonna be
where I'm just uploading weekly rather than to a week,
but I hope you guys don't mind.
And I've talked about the reasonings in my previous video
if you wanted to go back and watch that.
But yeah, thank you regardless.
Your love and support means the world.
And I hope to see you all very soon in my next video.
Bye guys.
