PACKWOOD
One old mountain highway leads to miles of vintage thrifting! We’re exploring three little towns with dozens of vendors who are selling items scavenged from attics, sheds, and storage units.

The vintage treasures, roadside vendors, and flea market surprises pop up long before we get to our main event, the Packwood Flea Market. Our first stop is the tiny settlement of Glenoma, where a fire department flea market delivers vibrant crackle glass, Talavera cats, Lenox China and Mt. St. Helens ash souvenirs, while bargain-priced MCM finds are packed in surrounding multi-vendor flea markets. Up the road in Randle, Washington, another fire department fundraiser offers antique furniture, farm primitives, toys, tools, and a signed Parklane pin with a striking mid-century look for only $6.

Many stops and bargain vintage buys later, we reach Packwood, the heart of this massive semi-annual flea market that draws treasure hunters from across the Pacific Northwest. We explore the east side of town, where longtime vendors fill fields and roadside spaces with antiques, collectibles, vintage kitchenware, sewing items, old advertising, and unexpected finds around every corner. Along the way, we uncover an antique garnet pin, silver overlay porcelain, a copper fire extinguisher, Rio Hondo animals, mint-in-box 1950s trucks, and a beautifully weathered boathouse sign destined for a second life far from the mountains.

From baby clothes and car parts to true vintage gems, this scenic mountain flea market never stops surprising us. Packwood’s decades-old tradition combines small-town charm, scenic views, and the thrill of the hunt in a way that keeps us coming back year after year.
