I Finally Opened the Storage Unit

After years behind a locked door, we finally open the storage unit and uncover thousands of antique and vintage items waiting to be sold.

Death to the death pile, store it no more! We’re taking advantage of the 150-mile Hwy. 41 Yard Sales in Kentucky by bringing the contents of a Florida storage locker, multiple estates, and auction overstocks into one massive sale. What started as a place to stash inventory has become a mountain of antiques, collectibles, and vintage treasures that has been waiting far too long for its turn in the spotlight.

We rent a 16' moving van and begin uncovering what has been hiding inside. Sascha Brastoff, an electric mini bike, paintings and prints, Disneyana, paper ephemera, fine china, glass, and plenty of unexpected finds emerge from years of storage. The deeper we dig, the more surprises we discover, and everything needs to be ready for a crowd of collectors, treasure hunters, and resellers.

Before the sale begins, we shop other Hwy. 41 yard sales in Kentucky in search of dealers who might join us, while a local antique show held the same weekend helps create even more excitement. Then it’s back to work as we sort, organize, and combine thousands of pieces from multiple collections into one display. With time running short and plenty left to do, we race toward opening day and hope it all comes together in time.
