Bolland Castle, located in the municipality of Bolland within the commune of Herve in Belgium, has been a listed historical monument since 1972. This remarkable manor house bears witness to several centuries of architecture, blending medieval and classical elements.

A Historical Heritage in Peril: Architecture: The building today consists of a U-shaped main building surrounding a courtyard. The oldest part is its square tower, dating from the 13th or 14th century, which was complemented in the 16th century by round towers. Illustrious Families: The castle has belonged to prominent noble families, notably the Houffalize, Eynatten, and Lannoy families. It is currently owned by Baron de Royer de Dour de Fraula. State of Preservation: Despite its listed status, the castle is currently suffering from a worrying state of disrepair, with recent reports of partial roof collapses.

Practical Information and Visits Accessibility: As a private property, Bolland Castle is not open to the public for interior visits. Exterior Viewing: However, it can be admired during hikes in the Herve region. The "Bolland: Farms and Old Convent" trail (6.6 km) offers glimpses of the architectural ensemble from the marked paths.
