
CHATEAU DE TRIBOMONT
Tribomont Castle is a historic neoclassical residence located on the heights of Wegnez, in the municipality of Pepinster (Province of Liège), Belgium.
History and Architecture: Construction: Built in 1873 by the renowned Verviers architect Charles Thirion. Origin: Initially conceived as the country residence of a wealthy textile family from Verviers.
Evolution: Throughout the 20th century, the building's purpose changed, successively housing children's holiday camps, a sanatorium, and then a care center.
Features: It is distinguished by its symmetrical facades, very high ceilings, spacious reception rooms, and a monumental wooden staircase.
🌳 The Tribomont Estate: The castle grounds: The building is situated in the heart of a park spanning over 5,000 m², home to remarkable century-old trees, such as sequoias and cedars.
The nature reserve: In the immediate vicinity lies the Tribomont State Reserve, a 29-hectare wooded and protected area managed by the non-profit organization Orée, ideal for walking and environmental education.
