This video provides a step-by-step tutorial on creating miniature perfume boxes and a perfume bottle using polymer clay, jewelry findings, and decorative elements. The creator demonstrates how to build both square and round containers, decorate them with printed labels, and add metallic finishes for a polished, realistic look.
Hello and welcome to my channel. Today I am going to make a perfume box from polymer clay.
And I rolled out a piece of brown clay on a setting six that is kind of a middle setting
on my pasta machine. And now I am making a strip here that is around one and a half centimeter.
Then I have these square cutters. They are actually for leather and this one is one
centimeter in the length on each side. And I am wrapping my clay around this cutter,
making sure it is not overlapping at the end. And I am going to make the connection so smooth
that you don't even see it anymore. When I am happy with the connection, I am going to place
this onto some more of the rolled out clay. And I'm going to cut around this piece here,
so that I have kind of a, I was almost saying a bottom, but this is going to be the top
of the perfume box. So it's kind of the lid that we are making right here. And again,
after cutting out the lid, the top for this lid here, I am making sure that I am smoothing,
smoothing down the connection between the top layer here and the sides, so that you don't
see the connection when it's all done. So I'm taking my time with this, using my tool and my
finger to make sure it looks pretty good. When I am happy with the connection, I am taking this
cutter that is a tad bigger than the one we just used. And I'm actually cutting out two of these
pieces, placing them on top of each other to make it a little thicker. You could roll out the clay
a little thicker if you wanted to. And I'm going to do the same one with the one I already wrapped
in clay. So now I have to bake this one first, otherwise I will break that piece. So I'm going
to bake that first. So I am going to do a round one and I'm going to do that the exact same way.
I have two different sizes of the round hole puncher. This is a gown for leather, but it is
working perfect with my polymer clay. And I start with punching out a double layer of the clay with
my smallest of the hole puncher here. You can see the difference right there.
And then I'm making a double with the bigger hole punch. I'm going to take the smaller piece here
and place on top of the bigger piece. And I'm trying to hit the middle with this one. It is
actually a little difficult. It's teasing me a tiny bit. Then I again make a strip that is one
and a half centimeter tall. And I'm going to wrap that around the smaller one of these cutters
at the bottom part so that I can make the top lid just like I did with the square one.
And again, I am placing it around so it's not overlaying at all. And then I am softening and
smoothing out the connection between the two sides here so that it looks really nice.
And I am going to make the lid or the top part of this just like I did with the square part.
Carefully cutting off the excess clay all the way around this circle or cylinder.
Then smoothing out the connection between the two parts. And I'm also going around the connection
between the two circles that is stacked on top of each other to make that connection look
pretty nice and even all the way around. After baking all my parts, I am carefully getting
this piece of that cutter. It is a bit difficult. I'm using a needle tool here to poke in between
the metal and my clay and kind of lift up the clay. This way I can loosen it and get it off.
But it is kind of difficult, but you can do it. Then I am going to sand all my small pieces here
to make them look really neat and nice. Then I went to Pinterest. I hope I said that right.
And I found some flowery pictures that I could make these kind of ribbons from or labels to
place around the lid on these boxes for perfume. This is not my pictures, so I'm not sure that I
should place it for download, but I'm gonna do it. And if anyone is against that, please let me know.
Then I will take the print file down again. But for now, you can find the print file in the info
box below. I used my paper glue to glue these onto these lids. So the round one is not as long
as the one for the square lid. And please remember when you are placing this on there, first of all,
get the glue into the corners. The picture is turned the way around so that the cap here is the
top. The opening is the bottom. And then I just glue that all the way around this little cylinder
that we made. And I'm gonna do the same with the square so that the top or the open part is the
bottom part of this. And here I am starting with the piece that has no pictures on it. And I'm
making sure that the first picture is on the side of the box. And then I wrap the pictureless piece
down the side. And now I can go all the way around the little box here with my strip of paper,
making sure I have the glue in the corners. And the picture should actually meet up very nice
around that little cylinder or that is a square. And there we have the first few steps of this
little build. Then I have a few metal jewelry. I think they're called findings. And I am gluing that
on top of the little box with my super glue. And I am placing a tiny bead on top of that so that
you kind of have a little handle to open this little box with. And I'm doing this on both of
these small boxes that I have here, the square and the round one. Then I am going to build the little
perfume that is going to stand in the box. And for that I have a little head pen, the one with a flat
head on top. Then a little bead, one of the small beads, a little finding, and I have a glass bead.
This is a eight millimeter glass bead. And I'm going to glue that together in that order. So
first the little bead, then the finding, and then the glass bead. And I'm gluing everything with my
super glue. Sadly I run out of super glue gel, so I'm just using one of these normal super glues. And
I hate those because I have glue all over when I'm done with this. I'm sorry that I'm out of
frame right here, but my super glue just went dry. There was nothing left, so I had to switch to some
super glue gel instead. But here is the little perfume all done. And I'm gonna glue that on the
bottom part of one of these, making sure it is straight in the middle, sitting straight up and
down, so that the lid is fitting nicely on top of that. And you could stop right here and just
leave that little box with the little perfume in there, just like this. But you know me, I like to
the things a little more different than just the easy way. So I take my fixed glue, non-permanent
here. This is a glue that is really really sticky when it's dry, and it will always stay sticky.
And I am taking a tiny bit of that, and I'm placing that around the lid, the top of the lid,
a tiny bit down the side as well. And on the bottom part, I am doing a rim all the way around
the edge. And then I'm gonna leave that for a few minutes to dry, before I place that
leaf gold or leaf silver on there. You can actually leave this drying for as long as you want,
because it will stay sticky, even though that it is totally bone dry. I am going with
my leaf silver, because I have my findings in silver. If I had put that on in gold,
I would do it with gold. I did a few with gold as well. I'm not sure I show you that here,
but you can do that as well if you want to. Then I am just popping on this leaf silver, and I am
using an old paintbrush that I cut off the most of the bristles. And I'm dapping that onto this
silvery leaf thingy, and making sure it is all into the glue, so that it looks nice and smooth.
And I'm gonna do the same here, around the bottom part of this little build. I'm just
removing the excess silver. I always have this everywhere when I'm using this, but the result
is really, really cute. That's it for this build. I hope you had fun with this one. I did.
So I will see you next week. Thank you for watching, and happy crafting.
