She needs no introduction.
It is Jennifer Aniston.
Hi.
I know that you're sitting right in front of me,
but can I say hi to Doug?
Yeah, obviously.
No, no. Hey, gorgeous, sweet angel.
Okay. How is your doggie, by the way?
Doggies. Yeah, doggies.
Chesterfield and Lord Chesterfield.
And Clyde, they're awesome.
You've always, like, been Mrs. Dog Person,
which made me feel good
because I've always been Mrs. Dog Person.
Yeah, so we're two Mrs. Dog People.
Mrs. Dog People.
Well, actually, speaking of ...
Your hair looks great.
Do you know, I did this for you today.
I'm like the queen of hair is coming here.
You never give yourself a beautiful,
straight blowout like this, and I love it.
You know what I do with my hair?
Well, I kind of.
I'm in shock because we all literally watch
exactly every move like the hair sways on you.
The hair sways.
That's like a great new soap opera title.
As the hair sways.
Your hair could have its own soap opera.
I love not only Lola Vee as a product.
You are one of the best marketing
and advertising agencies within one human being.
If you opened up an advertise agency,
it would crush because you're the best brander in the world.
Okay, well, there you heard it here,
and I will gladly do that.
We also have incredible people,
the agencies that come and help us,
especially with the P-Volve that we just did.
I love P-Volve. Have you started doing P-Volve?
I'm trying. I'm finally in my new workout era.
Okay. I've said that I would be a worker outer
my whole life,
and now I'm actually ...
The key word was I wasn't consistent,
and so then I would get injured, and then I would be out.
Well, that's okay.
What is the key from the body?
Well, I started P-Volve because I had an injury,
and when I was shooting Murder Mystery
with our beloved Adam Sandler ...
Murder Mystery, too. I know. I love him.
And we were doing ...
I was doing harness work hanging from the Eiffel Tower,
like you do.
And so anyway, I had a back injury,
and I couldn't work out, and my friend said,
you should try P-Volve because it's functional exercise,
and so it's functional fitness.
So you just sort of work around your injury
just because I would always get hate
to have to sit on the bench if you're injured
and be like, I can't work out for how long?
Well, I used it as a great excuse.
I was like, oh, I'm injured. I can't work out. Boo.
But now ...
It's great. I love it.
I don't want to be injured. I want to be in the game
because I turned 50.
I did a decade of work leading up to it.
Yeah, I know you have gorgeous ...
I know. I'm in the 50 efforts.
Yeah. It's the coolest club.
It's fun.
I feel different. It feels different.
Were you hard on yourself? Oh, I was so hard on myself.
I'm still hard on myself, aren't we?
You know, we're human.
But I was really hard on myself.
A big one that I had to conquer was time management.
Like, it made me so unhappy to mismanage time.
And then I thought about my life growing up,
how I was an actor and a producer and ...
Did you say were? Yeah, I know.
That's ridiculous because you are an actor.
You're right. Right?
We're going to get that.
Drag your butt out of this beautiful studio.
I love this because how much fun is it?
But you've got to get onto this. We're going to do something.
You know you, me, and Adam. I'm looking for it still.
Yes.
I would just say, I'm so sorry.
I have to go, and I'll hopefully be back.
I mean, I would literally change my life
to go do a movie with you and Adam.
That's how I feel because nothing would be a better time.
That's the other thing.
You do realize that time, your time is precious,
and how you spend it is everything.
So you don't want to go do a job
where you're working with a ...
or with people that are not kind or difficult or whatever.
You want to spend time with people you love,
feeling creatively fulfilled,
doing something that is just going to entertain your audiences
and bring joy to the world.
Something that you do is you take on lots of different tones.
Have you thought about doing Broadway?
Because you do the best dramatic roles, too.
Is this something like ...
It's the ... Growing up in New York City.
Your dad had a restaurant right across the street.
Right across the street. I know.
My dad used to shoot ...
My dad shot in this building, Search for Tomorrow,
which was a soap opera, which I don't even know
how long ago it went off the air.
But he shot a soap opera. First, it was Love of Life.
Let's go back to the dark ages.
Christopher Reeves ... I've never played his son.
Anyway, he was ... You played his son?
Christopher Reeves played my father's son.
Oh, because I played a boy once, and I was so excited.
They cast me as a boy when I was three years old,
and I was like, I can do anything. Go on.
You could. By the way, I'm wrong.
It's not Search for Tomorrow. It was Love of Life.
But point being, right across the street,
catty corner on the corner of 11th and 57th
was his restaurant called The Fives, 555 West 57th Street.
That's literally the building across the street.
Yes. My father's ghost is in this building.
What was his ... Hello?
Hi, Dad. Are you here?
Bring out some candles and summon him.
I do believe he is here. Yes, I know he is.
What were those days like, going to your dad's restaurant?
Oh, it was very fancy. Well, it was a cabaret,
so there was also ... That's very 80s, right?
They would have ...
You know, people come on the weekends,
and they would sing show tunes.
And then on the Saturdays,
Saturdays around 11 o'clock in the morning,
they had called the early show,
and it was young kids singing and performing.
And I would go on Saturday morning with my dad,
and I would sit there just dreaming,
wishing I could sing or do something
that would get me up onto that stage
and be a part of the early show.
And I remember hearing these girls with vibratos.
I was like, how do they make their voices do that?
Because I would open my mouth,
and just an awful sound would come out.
That's me, too.
And I feel like your dad's restaurant,
like running around ...
The seed gets planted.
And it's like when I saw Annie for the first time,
also around the same ...
And I thought, oh, God, what to be able to be on Broadway.
So back to the question. Let's circle it back.
Do you think that that's something
you would consider doing?
Of course. I would love to.
Listen, I know it's a very ...
The theater community is sacred,
so I would be honored if I would be invited into it.
Definition of a hot ticket?
It would be you on Broadway.
It would be super. It would be really fun.
We'd go in droves.
Okay. Okay.
So an advertising agency ...
That's right.
... and Broadway shows.
What else am I doing?
I understand that you're making 9 to 5,
and I'm freaking out because I don't ...
I'm sure it's a ways off,
and if we don't want to discuss it, we don't have to,
but I just want you to know that I can't wait for that.
I cannot wait for you to be at the helm of that film.
It's your company doing it, and we've ...
And Dolly's a part of it.
Dolly. Dolly's a part of it.
What's Dolly like?
She's everything you would imagine and more.
She really is. She's Dolly Parton,
and there's nothing that's not ...
What you see is what you get.
I feel like ... Full of sunshine.
... why it works is because 9 to 5,
with Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton,
is the same thing that you're going to bring to it,
which is these people we love and want to watch,
and then you see it's comedy, it's empowerment.
I mean, 9 to 5 is iconic,
and when I heard that it was in your hands,
I thought, get me to the theater now.
Please just ... I'm so excited for this.
Well, you could go get in line now,
but we won't be there for a while.
It'll be a little bit, but yes, 9 to 5.
It's going to be so exciting.
Okay, so we're Los Angeles girls as well as New York girls.
I still have my Valley girl accent proudly.
I love it. Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
And in honor of Los Angeles,
I thought that we could do a little Trips for Trips
and play a game and maybe send someone to Los Angeles.
Oh, my God.
Toss to Ross because he's at the helm of that.
Toss to Ross. Yeah, hi.
Oh, my God. How fun.
I love when you're here.
Jennifer Aniston, I love you. You know that.
Oh, my God. Ross.
Okay, well, I want you to say hi to someone.
This is Danielle. Everyone say, hi, Danielle, right here.
Hi, Danielle.
Hi, everybody.
Jennifer Aniston, you do Barrymore, hi.
They are? Oh, my God, hi.
Hi. Hi.
So tell us about yourself. Where are you from?
I'm from Brielle, New Jersey, originally from the Bronx.
My mom here, too. Hi, mom.
And I was a Marine Corps officer,
and now I work for the Coast Guard out of Washington, D.C.
Oh, my God. What?
I love that.
And have you ever ...
We're talking about L.A.
We're now totally in love with you.
We're just feeling really bad about ourselves.
Yeah. You really ...
We wowed. We just wowed you people.
I feel very much that way to you.
You're officially badass. How cool is that?
Thank you. Now, have you been to L.A. before?
So my brother works for Apple out of Los Angeles,
and I've been dying to go see him.
Maybe we can fix that. Yeah, you do.
If you get this question right,
we're going to send you to Los Angeles, okay?
Oh, please let her go.
Okay, so here's your question. Believe it or not,
this year is the 20th anniversary of Jennifer's film
Rumor Has It. Can you believe that?
20 years.
So here's a question. It's about that film.
Which Oscar-winning actress played the role
of Jennifer's grandmother in the film?
A, Jane Fonda, B, Shirley MacLaine,
or C, Liza Minnelli?
This is for a trip to L.A., Danielle.
What's your answer?
I'm going to go with B, Shirley MacLaine.
The answer is Shirley MacLaine.
Shirley, proper hotel. Congratulations.
Shirley MacLaine.
That's so wild.
What is Shirley MacLaine like?
Oh.
In which lifetime? Wonderful.
Exactly. I was going to say, which lifetime
were we talking about? Totally.
She believes that we were a mother and daughter
in a previous lifetime.
Really? Yes.
Well, that's- And I think it's why we have such,
we had such an instant bond.
The electric connection. We did.
We had a real, she's just fantastic.
It's so funny because she's with her daughter
actually right here.
Hi, Drew. Oh.
And hi, Jen. It's so great to see you there.
Hi, Jennifer. Sorry to interrupt, Mom.
It's so nice to meet you virtually.
I just wanted to tell you, Jen,
I'll never forget how professional you were
during the time we were making Rumor Has It.
You were really wonderful to work with.
I want to tell you congratulations from 20 years ago.
Oh my God, I'm so sorry.
I just love her a lot.
I was with her when my dog passed away.
Sorry.
I was at her ranch in New Mexico
doing a past life regression retreat,
which sounds crazy when I say it like that.
Oh, are you worried about me?
Cause I'm crying and my dog, I'm talking about Norman.
Oh my gosh. It's true, he knows.
You know, it's funny too,
because I'm actually fostering a dog right now.
And I wanted to show him to you and see what you thought.
Oh, stop.
Because you have Clydeo.
Oh my God, this is killing me.
What are you trying to do to me?
Well, you're literally like my, you know,
another person that I know feels about dogs
the way that I do.
Like, it's true, like, oh, Douglas.
Oh, Douglas.
I get it, Doug.
I get it, I get it.
Your house.
He's like, my house, new puppy.
You've got so much energy.
This is a foster dog that we're fostering.
And a lot of the kids are like, please, he has to stay.
And I'm like, well, it really depends on Douglas.
And I think-
They are the boss.
And he's very submissive.
Okay, so you're beta.
You just need to learn a little more.
He'll just put you in your place and you'll figure it out.
And you have a cookbook.
Oh, yes, Clydeo.
Which by the way, I've read the whole thing.
I love all the recipes in it.
They're simple recipes for you to,
for kids and their parents to cook in the kitchen together.
And you grew up cooking with your grandma.
My grandmother, she would cook,
well, she would make spanakopita and baklava.
Those are the two things she made out of this world.
Like, incredible.
So, and then I still have her recipes
and I make them when I have nine hours free
because that's how long they take to make from scratch.
Okay, let's talk about the morning show.
I'm three episodes in.
I did not want to, I couldn't binge it.
I need to draw it out.
I've been waiting for this.
I've never missed an episode of the morning show.
You haven't.
Oh, no.
My favorite.
Potent combination of watching people you want to watch.
The cast is impeccable.
Mr. Carbonell, I mean, we've got an incredible cast.
It really is, like, great chemistry,
brilliant actors, but people you want to watch.
But then what I respect about it so much
is the subjects you tackle.
I was so thrilled that you took on the subjects of AI
and deep fakes.
Deep fakes, mm-hmm.
I don't like the deep fakes.
And I don't know why they're allowed to exist.
Well, you can't control it.
It's a runaway train.
How many times have you been sent something
by a friend or by a family member saying,
did you promote this?
Are you selling this product?
Do you support this treatment or whatever?
And you have to say, that's not me.
And at first you look at it and you go,
oh my God, what is this?
But then you have to look at it closely
and you realize it's not your mouth actually speaking.
It's not really your voice, but somehow,
it's so scary, guys.
I don't know, there's no real answer
what we're gonna do about it.
I'm glad that you're addressing it, though.
Yes.
Especially there's a moment where your character
takes a look online, which I've done.
Don't.
I did it once. Too late.
And I had the exact same reaction you do,
which is, like, I never want to be seen that way.
How could someone put me in this position
and I'm in shock?
And it was just like, thank you for addressing that
because this is happening to every person in the world.
It's not exclusive to us.
No, it's absolutely not.
And it's also scary because people,
if you have people close enough to you, like I do,
think that that's actually me or you or whoever,
that means people out there in the world
are thinking, oh, good gosh.
So you can, misinformation is spread so recklessly.
It's unbelievable.
I don't know how you guys,
sometimes I think you guys have a crystal ball.
We do.
That's, we always say that. It's crazy.
Because season three, I think it was,
we read the first script and we said,
okay, a billionaire and a rocket ship
and he takes one of our anchors up into space?
Guys, this is a little crazy.
I feel like your show helps me make sense
of the world and it's also delicious.
And we've got some good juicy romance in there.
Marion Cotillard.
So fantastic.
She's so hot.
Yeah.
She's gorgeous and as beautiful,
I mean, she's obviously an exquisite actress,
but such a lovely person.
Well.
Sweetheart.
She makes me hot.
Jeremy Irons, who's this year, plays my father.
That's right.
When he turns around in the classroom,
I was like, wow, I love a Jeremy Irons.
What is on your neck?
Well, it's because just in case
I ever have a hot flash around you again,
that I have a lot of cooling prophylactics.
I have a little electric fan and I have a neck cooler.
And as we close this session out,
I just want you to know that-
But this is like your Beyonce fan.
Let me hold it down here.
There you go, girl.
If I ever am lucky enough
to have another hot flash around you,
that, and if it gets really bad,
Frank, you can take it away.
We've got that guy.
I love that.
So-
That felt great.
By the way, that felt so good.
That felt so nice.
Thank you for that cooling moment.
You literally have a hundred different kind of
cooling devices.
Well, because the last time you came here with Adam,
I had my first hot flash.
I know, I feel very honored
I was here for your very first.
Thank you.
Now I know you've had many others since.
Now I'm like, oh, I'm having a hot flash.
How does this go?
But also, I'm excited because everyone in this audience
is also going to have a memory.
Hot flashes.
And yeah, you're all gonna get hot flashes.
Except for the, you guys.
Thanks to Jennifer Aniston,
everyone in our audience is gonna go home
with these incredible Lola V products.
Which I am happy to report,
I did all over a girl's hair the other day.
It comes out in such a beautiful, fine poof.
I've never seen a component.
We wanted to stay away from the aerosol cans.
And then we have the detangler.
The glossing detangler,
which is their Hero 14 Awards later product
that everybody's gonna go home with.
So thank you.
Yay!
For the book.
Okay.
With Clydeo, and we have Douglas.
We have Douglas.
And what is your name again?
We don't have a name for this?
We don't have a name yet.
Oh, look how sweet he is.
She or he?
He.
Oh, and look at his little...
Guys, come on.
We've gotta adopt, don't shop, right?
These little babysit homes.
He's a rescue.
He was in an overcrowded shelter in Oklahoma,
and he came here Sunday.
That's so fantastic.
Here he is now.
What do you think?
I mean, I think you should see how Douglas feels about...
Look at Douglas.
He won't even look.
He's like, I don't even, I won't even see it.
Douglas, yeah.
But you know, we'll see.
I'll report back.
Yes.
And everybody is also gonna go home with a copy of this.
So all the proceeds for this will go to the Clydeo Rescue
and fund adoptions and shelters.
And my favorite show, never missed an episode,
and I'm milking it to the, I can't rush it.
Season four premieres September 17th,
and we'll show a clip on the way out.
Thank you.
I love you so much.
I'm gonna keep saying it, okay?
There it is.
I said it.
There is audio of me saying something that I did not say,
but I can't prove that I didn't say it.
And if I did say it, it would be so, so bad if I did.
And absolutely no one believes me.
