In today’s episode of The Archers (7th May 2026), the truth is finally spoken, but will anyone actually believe it?
Rory’s Dilemma: After struggling with his conscience, Rory Aldridge decides he must go to the police to confess to the attack on George Grundy
. However, Brian threatens a "double confession," claiming he will tell the police he did it just to muddy the waters and protect Rory’s future. In a final bid for honesty, Rory confronts George directly at the cemetery.
An Unbelievable Truth: In a bizarre twist, George flatly refuses to believe Rory’s confession. He is convinced that Rory is simply making it up to protect his father from going to prison. George even suggests that Rory might need counselling, leaving the truth hidden in plain sight.
Life at the Horrobins: Meanwhile, Bert Fry is feeling the sting of loneliness and tries to convince Tracy to set him up on dating apps. The mood isn't helped by a controversial tofu stir-fry that leaves Bert longing for pie and chips. We also see a significant moment for Brad, who makes a firm decision about whether or not to see his father.
