3 Perfect Days in Holland: Tulips, Windmills & More

The Netherlands is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe, famed for its tulips, endless canals, and of course, the tulips! In this ultimate travel guide we’ll enjoy a taste of the Netherlands over the course of a long weekend, including top attractions and hidden gems.
Every year, the garden of Europe, Keukenhof, opens its doors for just 8 weeks. We’ll begin by visiting this gardener’s paradise before heading to Delft, one of the most historic cities in Holland. There we’ll enjoy sights such as climbing the belfry, learning about Vermeer, and seeing a functioning windmill. We’ll end the day by heading to Scheveningen, a district of The Hague on the seafront.
The next day we’ll explore Leiden and learn more about the history of the tulip and how it came to arrive in the Netherlands. There we’ll also learn about the Pilgrims and explore some medieval architecture. Afterwards we’ll head to Rotterdam, a modern and futuristic city with some of the more interesting architecture in Europe.
Finally we’ll head to the Tulip Experience, where we’ll speak to a tulip grower about over-tourism in Holland, the future of the flower bulb region, and what it really takes to grow the beautiful tulips.
