Apparently we're just going to try this out and see what happens. I have no idea if this is going to work or not. Because it wouldn't let me do anything earlier. I couldn't even give you guys a warning that I wanted to do a live show. So I don't know if this will actually work or not. But let's hope it does. This looks kind of fuzzy. So weird. Hi everybody! So I was going to try to warn you guys that we were doing this live show. But YouTube wouldn't let me schedule it. I mean I was hoping some of you would realize that because it's Friday we would be going live. But yeah, YouTube wouldn't let me schedule it. So, surprise! We're live! Live Q&A! Hopefully you guys can hear me. I'm assuming so because everybody is saying hi. There's all of us here checking things out. Oakley's in the other room. She'll be in here in a second. Hopefully this is working. We don't need a warning. Chat is flying. I know, but I like to have it scheduled so you guys know what time it's going up. We're doing a live Q&A because it's Friday and it's the other Friday. So, this is what it's time to do. I did notice that a lot of you guys missed the last Fan Fridays video. We were gone camping when it went up and I guess it went up and it like didn't hit anybody's subscription boxes. So, very few of you saw it. If you don't want to, that's fine too. But I wanted to let you guys know, we really did put that video up last Friday. YouTube just decided that it didn't like us and decided to not show it to anybody. Also, the camping trip, we are going to do at least one video about that on here. That this one is not going out to people that it's supposed to. Because even now, not very many people are here as of yet. So I'm not sure. YouTube's just being fickle. It wants to be fickle. It would not let me schedule this stream. It would not let me do any of the stuff that I normally do when I'm getting ready for a live stream. I think this stream probably didn't hit sub boxes either. Which doesn't surprise me. Stupid YouTube. So, what this is, is a live Q&A. What we're going to do is, we're going to take questions from the chat. If you've never been to one of these before, that's what we do with our live Q&As. We take questions from the chat and answer them for you guys. Super chat questions, of course, will be answered first. But, we don't answer just super chat questions. We try to answer questions from everybody. First, I have a question for you guys. How many of you guys are in hurricane zone? Because, holy cow! Texas, Florida and the Carolinas. Somebody said, was it Georgia is supposed to get hit too? Holy man! We don't experience hurricanes up here. We just get snow storms. Yeah, we don't experience that stuff. Oh, now you can see all three of them. I kind of like the fact that there's nobody here. It kind of makes me worried that there's nobody here. Our Twin Life didn't get a notification. Two Pugs, do you compete in agility with your dogs? We don't compete. We just do like... I don't know what you would call it. Recreational? We just do it for fun. What do you feed your dogs? They eat Dr. Tim's RPM. I actually have that listed in the video description of every single video that we upload. So it's Dr. Tim's RPM. Crazy Craze, do you play an instrument? I can play Make the Dogs Sing. Is that an instrument? I can make the dogs howl. I'm pretty good at it. What's your favorite color? My favorite color is green. Jasmine says, what brush do you use? I use the blower for like the major shedding of the dogs. But then I have like an arsenal of brushes. We have a furminator. We have an undercoat rake. I have a finishing comb. I have a slicker brush. So I have like an arsenal of brushes. Literally. Allison says, my dog will shake and it feels like she's vibrating and sometimes she cowers. What? Like all the time? If it's all the time, you might want to go to the vet. I'm not sure if I understand. You guys always sleep during live shows. Unless we do them outside, but they're so hard to do outside. What? You mean like what people say or like... I don't understand. My biggest husky... Like what they do? My biggest pet peeve of what... I don't really have any pet peeves of what they do. My biggest pet peeve would be what other people say to us when we have them. Or when other people see us walking and they'll walk across the street because they think our dogs are mean. That bothers me. They're not mean. They're super friendly. They really are. Why are they so cute? You know, I ask them that all the time and they just never answer me. I go camping with my spaniel. Any tips on... If you go back and watch last week's Fan Friday, I actually have a lot of answers for the questions you just asked about tips for dogs at a campground. A wild Jamie appears in the comments. Get a boy dog. Maybe. It all depends on realistically I mean we don't know what we're getting if we're getting a boy or a girl. We don't even know when we're getting another dog. Have you ever been to Ludington, Michigan? We have been to Ludington, Michigan. Ludington, Michigan, the state park is not super dog friendly. I had a friend of mine who went camping there and he said it was the least dog friendly state park that he ever stayed at. Which kind of made me nervous. We wanted to stay there and then we kind of heard that so we kind of... We didn't. We're like, well, maybe sometime but not now. This campground we just stayed at, this Boabic State Park campground that we stayed at in the Upper Peninsula the last time around. When we first got there I kind of got that same feeling from the DNR guy that was running the booth. He was like, your dogs need to stay on a six foot leash. I'm like, dude, this isn't our first rodeo. We go camping all the time. We always keep our dogs contained well at public campgrounds. We're at a public campground. And he just wasn't very nice. But then the whole rest of the time we were there all the other DNR officers and the rangers were really, really nice. Brody, thank you for the super chat, says how would you describe the Siberian Husky breed? Um, they're hyper. They're crazy. They're... They shed. I would describe them as an adventure dog. An active dog. If you're the type of person that likes to go and do fun crazy things, that's the type of dog they are. For sure. Our Twin Life, thank you so much for the super chat says, how do you keep up with the fur? Ender's fur is taking over the house. So, Ender is a single coated dog and these are double coated dogs. So take Ender's fur, times it by three and then times that by three. That's how much fur we deal with. We'll fully admit, Jamie just vacuumed before I started the live show. We have a cordless vacuum cleaner. We have a robot vacuum cleaner. We have a wild Jamie vacuum cleaner. They can see you if you sit in that chair. We pretty much vacuum every day. Sometimes twice a day. The robot vacuum cleaner usually runs. So, how do we deal with it? We clean a lot. Vacuum brush. Brush, blow out their coats. The blower is the best investment I ever made with having a dog. Ever, ever, ever. It's almost daily. If you pet the dog and there's a bunch of fur that comes off. It's like, oh time to brush. Yeah. You just kind of deal with it. Everybody loves Oakley. Yeah, we don't do Oakley as much as we do the other dogs because she kind of freaks out about it, but every once in a while we'll go and we'll actually blow her out and brush her and try to help her with her shedding hair. We have to do Oakley quite often because, I mean not quite often, but we can't just not do her because her fur is so long, she'll get mats. So, at least once a month we have to take her out there and we really have to like brush her and make sure she's not getting any mats in her fur. Anna Palomira thank you for the super chat says, hello from Colorado. I love your videos. How can you control how much your dogs... How can you control your dog while walking if they're pulling too much? So... I kind... We kind of don't. We recently noticed that if you put them on a neck lead, they seem to pull a lot more, but if you put them on a harness it seems weird, but they don't they don't pull unless you're like telling them to. They keep looking back at you. We do use harnesses instead of collars. One, because it's safer to use a harness than it is to use a collar. But, we don't really stop our dogs from pulling. Like, I think we're the wrong people to ask that question. Some Mellow Puff asks, are they hard to handle? And the first thing that came to mind is when you went into the bathroom at Fayette and I had all three dogs, which is normal perfectly fine, but I'm like, hey, I want to sit down on the picnic bench. So I sit down on the picnic bench and I have Memphis on one arm and I have Shelby and Oakley on this arm. Unfortunately, there's a garbage can like a little ways back past and they both wanted to smell the garbage can. Just as I sat down on the picnic table, Shelby and Oakley went like that way and pulled me directly backwards and kind of pinned me on the picnic table. Then somebody walks out of the little visitor center there walks right past and laughing at me and I'm trying to jerk the dogs back. I'm like, come on, get up and let me back up. I mean they can be a little hard at times but it's not bad. We just deal. Yeah, we just deal with it. Brittany thank you for the super chat says, have any of the dogs ever tried taking Oakley's raccoon and if so, how have you made it just Oakley's? This dog does it all the time. Yeah. So we just take it back away from her and we give it back to Oakley and then this dog takes it again then we take it back away from her and we give it back to Oakley kind of like the red ball. That's why we had to have two red balls because this dog wants to take everything all the other dogs have. Always. Just this dog. Having two of them tricks Oakley she's not sure which one is which now anymore so. Yep. As long as she got one. So we pretty much deal with it by just taking it and giving it back. I think that I don't know, Shelby just doesn't take that. Yeah, the actual raccoon that we've had ever since we got Oakley, the one toy she came with when we adopted her. Shelby doesn't take that. It stays in her crate and it's usually stuck in the corner of the crate. Yep. Pretty much. Pretty much. Oh my gosh, there's so many things going on. Somebody asked how to do super chat. It's the little dollar sign next to the chat box. Not everybody has it. Starbucks or Tim Hortons. Tim Hortons! We're close to Canada. Canada. Canada. How do you control their barking? Uh, we don't. My dog barks at everything that walks past the house. Uh, yeah. So do ours. Oakley mainly. If she sees it, sometimes there will be a squirrel that runs across the telephone line. Yeah. And we do have the windows open cause it's nice outside. It's only 60 degrees outside. Yeah, it's really nice outside. Would you ever volunteer for the ASPCA? No. I like to support local shelters. Um, like I don't support the Michigan Humane Society. I don't really support the Humane Society of the United States. They're very... And the ASPCA is... Same thing. If you actually look at where a lot of that money goes and where a lot of what they do goes, you are... You get a bigger bang for your buck. I hope that makes sense. Uh, when you work with, donate to and help out local shelters. Like the money goes... One, the money goes more to your community and animals that need help in your community. And two, I feel like because you're not paying like these huge like head directors and things like that, you're better off. Like Harry Houdini Husky Rescue, there are no paid employees. That rescue has... The people that work for it, nobody gets paid. Like the president, the board president, the director, nobody gets paid. They all volunteer, so all the money that goes into that rescue goes to help the dogs. I like supporting animal rescues that are more like that. Um, our local Humane Society is a whole other story. Our Humane Society in the county over, cause remember, just because your local animal shelter may say Humane Society doesn't necessarily mean they're actually associated with the Humane Society of the United States or the Humane Society of whatever state you're in. Um, but like our, the Humane Society are county over. They do have a couple paid employees. I believe they have four, but then they have a ton of volunteers, so even that the money goes more towards the animals than towards employees. Erin, thank you for the super chat. If you just go to our main channel and like actually search for Husky puppy or dog puppy training tips and things like that, you'll find a ton of videos. A ton of videos on that. Wait, I missed one. I saw it and then the thing did the thing and I don't know what happened. It like just goes by so fast. And then I miss it. Like I saw one and then I missed it. We use mushers secret in the winter time. To keep their paws protected. Yeah. And that's in the winter time. Oh! For any of you that are here from the vlog channel or that follow us over at Snow Dogs Vlogs and are wondering about the cats from the hoarding cats video that we did, as of yesterday every single cat from the hoarding situation has been adopted. So anybody that was wondering about that, they've all been adopted. I see a fluffy butt. What is the best toy for Huskies? You know, it really depends. Our dogs don't really play with toys a whole lot, so it really really depends. How do you do live streams? We connect to our computer and we do them. And click the live button. What are your girls favorite treats that you can buy in stores? I would say the blue wilderness dog treats or the... Where are you going, Shelby? Or the fish treats, the minnows. She thinks you're getting her something. Wonderful news about the cats. Yeah, I was pretty excited. We were calling them Tabby Nation. I shared it a little bit on the Snow Dogs Vlogs channel and we did the vlog on it and yesterday they had an adopt-a-thon and I was gonna go to it, but they were doing another one on Saturday and I'm like, well I'll go to the one on Saturday. And I didn't end up going yesterday and by the time it was all done, they messaged me and they're like, they're all adopted. I'm like, that's so cool. That's so cool. We got all 30 cats got adopted. Which is amazing. Have you ever been afraid of dogs? No. Did you get to see all the waterfalls you planned to? No. We saw a few. We definitely didn't get to go to all the ones that I wanted to. When we go camping, we had like a caravan of four cars and one car didn't have four wheel drive, so there was a couple of them that we were gonna go to, but we were afraid that the car wouldn't make it back there like I think everybody else would have and we did that once last year and it kind of didn't turn out so great on an off road road, so yeah, I'm not sure. We didn't get to see all the ones I wanted to see, but I'm sure we'll go back for sure. Of course we're gonna go back. Shirley, thank you for the super chat. Our dogs aren't affected by storms, but most people say you can try like the calming treats or a thunder shirt or actually just putting a shirt on your dog. So, I'm not sure like what works, cause not everything works for all dogs, but those are some of the things that people have like told me to try. Where did you get the green lights in the camping video? I got them at Lowe's I believe? I gotta get another one of those too. I think it was Lowe's. It might have been Home Depot. But I think it was Lowe's. When is the next camping trip going to be? Hopefully in two weeks. We were gonna actually leave today. We were gonna leave today and we were gonna take the dogs camping cause the camper is still full. We have so much food in there, it's ridiculous. So the camper is still full. We have everything still packed. We were actually going to leave this morning and we were gonna go up to Musco Lounge Lake State Park, which is our favorite campground. As long as we're not doing any super hard core off roading, they do actually usually enjoy it. Do you think you can handle having four dogs? I've had four dogs in the house before. It's not that hard. It's just one more. Realistically. The only thing would be, traveling would be a little bit harder. Getting them in and out of the car and stuff. When we go camping, I think would be a little bit harder. Shelby's so cute! I have an eight year old cattle dog and I'm thinking about giving him some stuff to help his joints. Any recommendations? How should I keep dog food and keep my dog How should I keep dog food and keep my dog warm while camping? Well, dogs come with these awesome fur coats most of the time, so they can usually keep themselves pretty warm while camping. As for dog food, I put mine in a like a Tupperware container with a lid, so that it doesn't go stale. I actually have a great big container that I put it in when we go for longer trips. But you try to use like an air tight container. But I use an air tight container when we're at home too, so that stuff doesn't go stale. Have you ever given... She's crazy, huh? Shelby! Have you ever given the girls freeze dried liver? Yes! Can you make potato chips for dogs? We made french fries for dogs. It's not the same thing, but it's close. It's close! Did the dogs know left and right? They know haw and gee. Well, these two do. Oakley not so much. Should I keep them in the tent? Well, I wouldn't leave them outside. I'm not a big fan of when you go camping just leaving your dogs outside of the campground. You don't know what's out there. We had skunks at the campground we were at. Thank you for the super chat. The only things that really get in our yard is birds and squirrels. That was one of the things when we kind of did our fence we wanted to make sure that nothing could get in. That's why we do the rocks around the outside and then we do the perimeter check. I was trying to think of the word. Perimeter check. Where we actually go around and make sure that nothing is getting in under the fence. Just to be sure. Somebody said it keeps freezing up. Why does everybody think we're supposed to be camping today? We said we were coming back this week. We said we were coming back Wednesday but we actually came back Tuesday. Knocking on wood and not answering that question. Exactly. Do your dogs hunt lizards? We don't really have lizards here. I don't think we have lizards here at all. We have like mud skippers. But not really lizards. Do you ever go to Tawas Bay? Yes. Memphis has a fox tail. Are there different types of huskies? Memphis' head, face and ears shape seem different to Shelby and Oakley's. That's because Memphis is what a suburban husky is supposed to look like according to AKC breed standards. Memphis is actually a show quality Siberian Husky. Her brother is the number one husky in the United States right now. Her dad was the number one husky in the United States when she was born. She's what they're supposed to look like. She's the right size. She's the right weight. She's the right ears and eyes and nose and everything set where like Oakley we don't know where she came from because we adopted her. Shelby was from a backyard breeder who shouldn't have been breeding dogs and wasn't doing anything correctly so... Are there different huskies? Siberian Huskies are all Siberian Huskies but there's different breeding practices. There's good breeding practices and bad breeding practices. Memphis is the product of very good breeding practices. If that makes sense. What type of dog... What are your dog's favorite type of toy? Shelby likes the squeaky tennis balls. Oakley likes the raccoon toys. Memphis likes like little tiny soft toys. Pay attention. When something... When they're not acting normal we know something is wrong. When do you think you will get an RV? Well we have an RV. We have the travel trailer which is actually considered an RV. So we already have one. If you're talking about a motor home, if you watch the vlogs we kind of already decided that we're not... I don't think we're going that route. I think we're going to get an all seasons travel trailer. How many animals have you owned in your life? A lot. Three... Four... So four Huskies for just Jamie and I. And then I grew up with St. Bernard's. What is Oakley's obsession with Jamie's socks? I have no idea. I think it's just cause they smell like them. She likes to take them and stuff them in her kennel. Cause she's kind of weird. She's like I kind of just... That's kind of my thing guys. Kind of my thing. Memphis is four. Yes, they're all fixed. No, none of them have dug to China yet. Does Oakley have a favorite person? Nah, food. No, I don't really think she has a favorite person. My dad won't let me get a dog. Any help? Can't really convince your parents to help you get a dog. I get asked that all the time. I wish I could, but I can't. Has Memphis started talking more? Not really. I mean she's definitely not as vocal as Shelby. What is your opinion on feeding dogs raw meat? I've noticed I've been getting this question a lot. Like a lot a lot. And I've answered it before. Our dogs get raw stuff. They get dehydrated raw food toppers. I might get a dog. Which should I get? A pug or a Husky? That is a huge difference in dogs. So it really depends on what you... It depends on what type of dog you want. That's a big difference in dogs. Why does Shelby like Greg so much? I think it's because Greg used to hate Shelby. Not hate Shelby, but didn't really like Shelby. When you camped in the UP with other YouTubers this year, are the hiking areas there all dog friendly? Yes. We did Pictured Rocks in June and a lot of waterfalls. Yeah, Pictured Rocks is horrible. Pictured Rocks is a national park, so most of the trails in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore are not dog friendly. Based on rules they put in place in the 1950's. Because the park services believe that dogs can damage the trail and that they can be harmful to other animals. But what's interesting is they don't feel that people can damage the trails and be harmful to the animals. Even though the people do more damage than the dogs. So it's really interesting. But in the 50's they actually passed that rule in the national park system. Dogs aren't allowed a lot of places in the national parks, which I personally think is stupid. Because as long as you're responsible and you have them on a leash they're not going to do any more damage in the park than any person walking down the road. But yes, where we were, we were in a lot of state parks and a lot of state parks do allow dogs and the trails allow dogs. But the Pictured Rocks area, the actual park itself, like you're not supposed to go to Miner's Falls. You can go to Miner's Castle. You can't go to Sable Falls, Mosquito Falls. There's a ton of them back there you can't go to. But where we were, we could. Which is why we went where we were. And actually by Pictured Rocks, there's probably about 15 or 20 waterfalls in that area that you can take dogs to. You just have to know where they are. So next year we're actually doing a camping trip up there. Because Charles, if you're watching, we haven't taken him there yet. So I think next year in September, we're going to do a trip by Munising. We're going to stay somewhere by Munising and do all the waterfalls there and do Pictured Rocks, but of course not where the dogs can't go. So yeah! Let me know and I'll let you know when we're going. Maybe you can just come with us! Are you going to make dog tacos? Someday! Someday! Have you ever owned a Great Dane? No! How do you start doing agility competitions and how do you sign up for it? Find somebody around your area that is teaching it. Usually you can do like a little Google search and see if there's a place that's teaching it. Or find a place that may be doing competitions and just ask. What do you think of the upcoming hurricane? I don't really know how to answer that. We don't get hurricanes. Whoa! You alright? We don't get hurricanes. So I've never been through a hurricane. I don't really know what to think of it. It sucks. It looks like it's gonna suck. The media is making it sound like it's the first time a hurricane has ever come anywhere near land even though we just had one touchdown in Texas like two weeks ago. So I don't know. I don't know what to think of it. When are you going to the Pet Expo? The Pet Expo in Novi is November 9th and 10th I believe this year. I think we're going to be there. I have to make sure that it doesn't fall at the same time as another Pet Expo in New York that we might be going to. I'll let you guys know about that stuff for sure. Probably should brush them daily but it's pretty much weekly. Sometimes a couple of times a week. Your dogs have pretty coloring. Well, thank you! They're Siberian Huskies. Our pumpkins are actually doing really well. We just went out there and checked on the pumpkins at the farm today and they'll be in the vlog next week. I have three Huskies. I have three Huskies too!
