Squamish is WAY Better Than We Expected 🇨🇦

Hello everyone and welcome to Squamish. Located just one hour north of Vancouver,
this place is a playground if you love the outdoors. We're going to spend some time here
showing you some of the best experiences, activities and things to do so you can add
Squamish to your Canada bucket list. We have come to do the newest attraction in Squamish and that
is the Squamish Canyon. They have built an incredible boardwalk to some beautiful waterfalls.
You can actually access the falls on a public path but this is a brand new experience here
right through the forest. I think it's about a 1.7 kilometre walk so we're going to go and
experience one of BC's newest attractions. It already looks pretty. Get in. It's so peaceful
here. We're literally the only ones on the boardwalk. I think some people are behind us
further back but it's just us on this beautiful boardwalk through this lush green forest and all
we can hear is the birds or the crashing sound of the waterfall which we're going to be seeing soon.
It is absolutely beautiful in here. You're kind of completely immersed in nature which we're loving.
Yeah they had to protect the trees. I like that they have kept some of the trees. I'm guessing
they obviously didn't want to harm any of the trees to make this attraction in nature so they've
just created the boardwalk around the trees which is nice. We are now getting the first views of the
waterfall and it looks amazing. There's this beautiful like river going through the forest
all these rocks and then this, you can probably even hear it, the water all tumbling down.
It is so pretty. This is our first real taste of Canada outside of the snowy winter season like so
far we've just seen a lot of snow but this is so lush and green and gorgeous. I'm going to be so
cold but you can swim around in some of the waterfalls around Squamish. I don't know about
this one though but oh my god this is so pretty. Wow what an awesome boardwalk. It goes all the way
down there. I think you can go over that way and have a better viewing platform looking up
the canyon. Cool. This is so beautiful. The boardwalk is fantastic. You get so many different
aspects of the gorge below the canyon. It juts out as well so you can look down into the water.
It's really cool. Really great addition to the area. I don't know how people would have got here
before maybe just by canyoning up the river but now it is much easier to access for everyone.
We have come to another little viewpoint on the boardwalk and we both just looked at each other
and our jaws dropped. It's so gorgeous and I think we had the perfect timing of the light.
You can see behind me with the light in that kind of the mist coming off the falling water and the
light coming through it is so beautiful. If I was a painter I'd want to just like sit here with my
little painting and my little pad and just be painting all day like it is picture perfect.
It's like a magical fairy tale. We were just there but now we've just moved to this platform here
and look at that. It just keeps getting better and better and as the light is changing as well
each section gets more or less good so it's constantly changing for us.
If you ask me how I really feel the best things in life's for free.
Look at that water down there. Oh we got an overhang.
They have a really cute playground for kids and some cafes or one big cafe they've got
lights all around it too so it looks like this magical tree house in the forest as you're walking
along. A nice little pit stop for your walk. You say what Vi got. Corey you've ordered this.
You got a veggie dog. That's really good look at that. That looks like a really nice hot dog not
just a sausage and bread and it's on a brioche bun too. Pickled onions and pepper and I think
maybe some avocado in there some guacamole. Very nice. Well definitely allow yourself some time to
stop in the little cafe rest area. Loads of little games to play. Good playground for the kids and
they've got good food and there's also a little shop there as well which we didn't check out but
if you want to take something home you can. I love that they've got the clear perspex
ceilings and the little seating areas as well so you can just look up and just like look through
the canopy of the trees up to the blue sky or the grey clouds. They're more likely to get that here
in BC. Finished. That was amazing. 100% recommend if you're in Squamish. We absolutely loved it.
I think it is the newest thing to do here in Squamish and yeah it's great so add it to your
bucket list. If you're looking for a sweet treat in Squamish then look no further than Fox and Oak.
This place is kind of viral. It's one of the top things to do in Squamish. Our friend said to us
if you go in there you have to go and try their donuts so let's go. Very popular little spot here
in Squamish. We're here on a Saturday morning so I think a lot of locals have come for their coffee
and donuts but we have got two so they actually did some nice vegan options which was awesome
for me. This is a lavender latte. It's like a lavender icing with some kind of crumble on top
and it already feels so soft when you're touching it and Corey's just gone for a classic cinnamon donut
which sounds really nice and then a couple of coffees. You know their donuts are like special
sourdough eh? Oh yeah so I did read mine was like a vegan sourdough or vegan starter and this is
maybe that's why it's such a popular famous good quality donut. They've got sourdough.
Very impressed so far Squamish. Very very nice coffee as well. Yeah it's nice but with cappuccinos
lattes and coffee around the world always changes. You never know what we're gonna get. At the moment
we have a bigger for latte small for cappuccino. Usually I'm used to the larger cappuccino smaller
for latte and chocolate powder but it's honestly everywhere we go every country every city it's
different it keeps us on our toes. Food review but Corey's already smashed his donut so I think
that means he liked it. He said it was a nice sugar treat but they're really yummy like the
donuts like the actual dough is really soft you can see it's really yummy but I can see why this
place is a hit and it's so popular they're very good. They're worth a visit for sure and it's nice
like just a really nice uh like a new area it seems like in here and the cafe itself is really
They had blankies if you wanted to sit outside it was really nice kept my legs warm. As you can
see Squamish is surrounded by amazing mountains probably the most recognisable for those in the
know is this one here it's the chief I think it's called the chief well that's his nickname
and you can go right up to the top of it and watch an amazing sunset. People climb that there's a lot
of rock climbing in this area that's what kind of Squamish is known for and like the local
community so there's a lot of outdoorsy people here but as you can see mountains on every side
apart from one which is actually the beginning of the pacific ocean. We are taking a beautiful
little walk now to Shannon Falls another spectacular waterfall in the Squamish region
located just a 10-15 minute drive from the main town centre and we can already see some glimpses
of the waterfall and it looks humongous. The water that's coming down along the creek coming
off of the waterfall is so clear you can see every single stone or little boulder at the bottom of
the creek or the riverbed it's amazing. Wow that is a tall waterfall there already is two amazing
viewpoints we've just started the trail looking at the waterfall I'm hoping we can get closer
like to get to more of the base of the fall to really look up at it it's definitely walking a
little bit further uphill to get a better viewpoint from here you can see the falls and it's like
surrounded just kind of framed by the beautiful greenery of the trees or the leaves and the
branches it's really really pretty. Why do I keep going on these? I thought today was gonna be chill
oh my god we are going up fast we are doing one of the most iconic activities experiences to do
in Squamish and that is the sea to sky gondola presumed named after the highway the sea to sky
highway and it's taking us up to the top of the mountain and I think there's actually like a whole
resort up there you can do snowshoeing tubing I've seen some people ski so maybe some cross-country
skiing and of course an epic view all we've been doing in Canada so far is going gondolas and I
really don't like heights this one is not this one's not very nice it's very steep the first
part but I did the peak to peak at Whistler the other day the highest gondola in the world
terrifying but this one is really scary too this one actually reminds me of the Queenstown gondola
where you just start going straight up immediately and it's yeah pretty steep as well
thank you Jesus goodbye oh my goodness as if Charlotte's fears were not already tested today
look at this a bridge suspension bridge with an amazing view of the mountains
I guess that's what we're doing next some amazing views if you're brave enough to go on those
that's beautiful it's wobbling so there's not just views up here there's also this crazy bridge
that you can walk across it's a suspension bridge it's actually not too crazy scary I'd rather be
on this than the gondola let me tell you that and it connects you over to there so we're going to
have a walk across here this is really cool so like I said lots of trails to do up here and
and this one is actually quite snowy it said they recommend spikes but it seems okay so let's go
slow and it's a little loop this is called the spirit trail and I'm guessing it's going to take
us for some views or just a nice little snowy walk through the forest this is a really nice
little viewing platform finishing the day with some hot chips and a view of your gondola which
you're going to ride in a minute we're just finishing up our time in Scottish before we
wanted to try somewhere for breakfast really so we found this cafe called Fergie and it's in this
beautiful forest and right now it's so rainy and misting it's very like twilight vibes this cafe
is seriously so it's quite unique I've never been to a cafe like this at least in Canada so far for
sure right next to the river yeah so pretty we're just in the forest near Squamish and it's just
such a beautiful place but this is it feels like we're in kind of like a log cabin yeah it has a
really unique feel to it which I really like you have to kind of like go outside and then inside
and outside to get here and then the view if you get like a seat by the fireplace which will be
coffee and you have the river flowing past it is so serene it's nice good so I've gone for a Spanish
omelette and Corey has got a breakfast bun of some big potatoes he saw someone else eat it and
decided he wanted it yummy yeah it's really yummy I took the bacon off but it's still delicious
coffee number one for me but the area by the fireplace became free so we thought we'd stay
and have a coffee by the fire I actually wanted to rain again because it was so cozy with the rain
and the mist it's cleaned up a bit now it's still really nice but this is like perfect kind of
wintry cozy forest vibe it's really really nice here well everyone that wraps up our time here
in the beautiful Squamish we have had a great time and we hope you have enjoyed this video
if you have maybe go check out these subscribe for more Canadian adventures and we'll see you
again soon bye
