Along their journey, they navigate the challenges of RV maintenance in an isolated area, sample authentic Cuban coffee and fresh lobster rolls, and reflect on the military history and natural beauty of the Florida Keys.
Fits so nicely over here. You know we really are enjoying having a short or small vehicle
instead of the the big one ton trucks that we've owned over the years. So once I get Chris out here
to help we're going to take the back off. Going topless. And since we have an hour drive today
down to Key West, which is the other thing that we like about this park, is that it's a little
bit closer to Key West for us to go visit. And there's not supposed to be any rain today so
hopefully this is a good idea. And storage wise in the little two-door Bronco it's actually
quite a bit. It's like a small SUV.
More than enough for what we use it for. I mean it's not bad right? These seats do go down a
bit more flat. But this back part here is plenty for groceries or you know everyday kind of normal
stuff. And then when you need to put more in there you can. You know one really big negative to being
in the Keys is that you're kind of isolated down here. It takes about three hours to drive from
you know Key Largo all the way down to Key West. And so if you're anywhere in the middle of the
Keys and you need to get something specific you might have trouble doing that. And we just happen
to have our toilet break. So there is no camping worlds or you know anything like that really close
by. I think the nearest RV parts store is maybe an hour and a half from here. This little piece here
is what broke. There's a little knob that came off that looks just like this one. When you have your
foot pedal on here this moves these knobs. So this knob does the water. Kind of hear it squirt the
water out. And then this knob here opens the flap in the toilet. So right now we can't open our toilet
flap. So basically we can't use our toilet. So I did find the part. It's pretty cheap. It's like 30 bucks.
Amazon was the quickest shipping. E-Trailer had the part as well. But we really needed to get this
thing as quick as possible. It's only going to take about four days to get it. But down here in the
Keys it can take about a week to get something shipped. But we're not going to let having no
toilet in the Keys ruin our fun. Oh no. It's not our first time dealing with some sort of a toilet
gasket issue. It's definitely our first time not being able to flush the toilet at all.
So that's unique. But it's not a big deal. We're actually really close to a bathroom right here.
So that's convenient. That does help. RV toilet seals for us over the past seven years they last
about six to twelve months. That's it. And this one happened to go at six months. I replaced it.
And then the flap started getting really hard to push. And I should have done something first.
We just dealt with it for like a month. And then all of a sudden it... Anytime you have to force a
mechanism it's only a matter of time before something snaps. Okay it's time. On to Key West.
Pretty easy to pop off. Not hard at all. So this is what it looks like with just the two top roof
panels off. You get a pretty good open experience. This is always a longer process than I think in
my head. Do we need to get these rocks off? No. Should be fine. Okay. All right fine we'll get
the rocks. Okay let's get this started for you. Hold on to it. Just hang on for a second. Okay
okay. One, two, three. Straight back. Straight back.
And down. Oh we're like pros at this now. So much easier than the first time. Yeah. Oh it's been a
while. Isn't it so fun when the top comes off? I really am excited yeah. Love it. This is either
going to be a really bad decision or a really good decision because we're going to be an hour
away from our campsite. We're not going to have anything to protect if a big rainstorm comes in.
That's scary. Yeah. But it's kind of exhilarating at the same time right? Yeah. Like what's the
worst that can happen? You know after researching Jeeps and Broncos I understand why people fell
in love with Jeeps like they did. They're such a, and the Broncos, they're such a fun like not just
a vehicle but it's like a fun almost a toy to have. And it's not you know there's the out west
stuff where you're out on the trails and rock crawling and out in the desert and things like
that. And then there's like the beach type of stuff. Yeah. Where you take the top off and it's
like a convertible truck. Right yeah yeah yeah. I love it. And then when you're a full-time RVer
you got all the carnage of everything out. You don't have a garage for all this stuff
but I think it's worth it. Hopefully it's worth it.
So for the record I do a lot of driving in the Bronco. I actually love driving the Bronco. It's
just a fun vehicle to drive. You have way more logged miles than I do in this thing. Yeah and
I don't mind driving the RV. It's just not my you know. Specialty? It's just not my favorite.
This works well for you to drive and for me to do the all the rest of this stuff. Yeah I prefer to
drive most actually not all the time. I actually have really been enjoying our date nights in the
Bronco when Aaron drives. Yeah. That's the best. But on like trips like this if we're filming I
don't want to film. I'd much rather drive. Yeah filming's actually quite a bit of work. Your mind
always has to be thinking of the camera and where to put it setting up your shots and you know that's
why Chris drives quite a bit when we're filming which is when you guys are watching so it looks
like I don't ever drive. But he does. The sunscreen blocked my wave. Yes. I do like that. So we learned
very early on the very first time we took the roof panels off and this was in the fall in the
Midwest not even down here in Florida. It gets hot with the sun directly on you so
it just makes sense to have one of these sun shades. It's awesome. All right 52 minutes that's
still really manageable drive. So Key West is really the only place on all of the keys that
has any type of like chain. Big box. Big box stores. Yeah and I remember the first time we
came down here we were really blown away at how much retail they had. It's kind of weird it's
you know it's so far down here you know it's three hours from Miami or three and a half or
whatever it is. That toilet problem we have we might want to keep our eye out for any type of
RV parts stores because I never really searched this far because we were you know I'm not gonna
want to drive down here just for a part. Not gonna drive an hour unless it was an emergency which
you know we're in like a half but we're coming up to the uh fun part of the the Key West because
this is a different way we're gonna explore Key West. We've done it on foot. We've done it by bus.
We've done it on e-bike. Yeah. You know we've driven the big one tons down here but that's not
something you want to cruise around these little streets in but now we have this little two-door
Bronco and this is actually fun to drive around small downtown areas because it's easy. It turns
quick. It's maneuverable and it's just a whole other way to explore. I think we got some good
weather. Right now it's perfect. Not a rain cloud in sight. Let's keep it that way.
Max place. See there's all these fun areas way up here that we've never done
because we always just go down to the same southernmost point area. I don't know what
you would call this like upper. Yeah I have no idea what the pockets are named. Oh this is where
the lobster fest was babe. Oh yeah. This is where we had the most delicious lobster in our life.
Was that was it? No but it was fun. I was gonna say I don't remember that.
We bought the shark tooth there. It was a good time. We rode the bikes here. Yep the bikes help
you cover a lot of ground. No doubt about that. So right now we're just gonna freestyle with the
the big map here and we're gonna head up on White and then head down on Duval to see what we can see.
This is where like you're just spontaneous like you said freestyle. If something looks fun you
park it you get out you check it out and then you get back on the road again. So it's 9 19 in the
morning. We've never kind of had this type of scenario like I said with with a vehicle before.
We've always been kind of like limited to to what we're doing but you know Key West is one of those
places you can do a lot of stuff here and you can explore it multiple ways. What would be a fun
option for people who do have a dually and don't necessarily want to do that is you park your big
gas truck down here and then you rent a golf cart or something. Yeah there's lots of rentals down here.
You can even rent jeeps or those little side-by-sides golf carts. I mean you can rent
anything down here I think. Is this Williams? The streets are just so fun here. They get they get
tighter and there's when it gets busier there's more and more people so that's where you don't
want to be driving around in a dually. There's no problem driving a dually here and parking.
It's 9 20 right now and come about 1 30 it will be a different scenario. And for all of you out
there that have not seen our previous video here and you have a big truck there's the secret big
truck parking down by the fort and we'll show that to you. One thing that I'm thinking about like
as an RVer I'm constantly looking at trees. Yeah. I definitely wouldn't want to be driving my
our motorhome down here. No. Like talking about yeah the the dually is manageable but...
Even when we had our van which we drove everywhere we took a bus down here which was about an hour
and a half each way. Actually we got on the we got at the bus stop to come down and we hitchhiked
and a nice couple at the RV park, strangers we have not met them yet, they said hey well if
you're waiting for the bus why don't you just hop in with us and this was back in 2019. Yeah this
was pre-covid pre-rv boom the world was a safer place. Eric and I looked at each other and we said
all right. This was also pre-youtube. Yeah we weren't youtubing then. It gets a little tight
when you got the big trucks and the cruise ship lets off all the people.
Feeling the squeeze. Oh yeah there's a lot of people down here. Yeah that's the cruise ship
I think babe. What is going on? It's like big city. It's like New York City. Are we in New York City right now?
This is our first little glimpse at 9 30 on Duval street. It's looking pretty pretty timid
pretty tame so far. Music. Oh roosters are crowing. Hearing a little rooster action. See even just
driving this it feels a little too fast-paced for me like this is the perfect time of day where
it's a little bit cooler and not so chaotic to get out and walk it. Yep yeah it is nice to walk.
I think we'll get a nice coffee to go and we'll just walk around a little bit.
Golf carts, scooters, there's stuff everywhere. Went down a one-way. Are those palms scratchy?
They could be. Into that lot and go out right there. Yeah this is why a dually like you can't just
pull in and yeah you got to be careful. Parking fills up quick. I'm gonna have to Austin Powers
a little bit even in this. It's easy to maneuver out though. Definitely couldn't do this in a truck.
Yeah parking can be very difficult in Key West. You got to just find because a lot of this is all
residential and this is like basically people's drive driveways and yards if you will. You're
about two feet from the curb. That's fine. I'm on the white line. Roll those windows up.
That gives a little bit of shade. Yeah and you know really like if if you put stuff on on my
passenger seat like the bag somebody would have to climb in here, crawl in here to like get
something out as opposed to like here you could just lean in and grab like you could grab a your
the bag down here. Yeah. But to get something out of the front passenger since the doors will be
locked they'd have to like crawl into it. Yeah. So don't steal my sweatshirt. Yeah or else.
Don't do it. It is one of my favorite sweatshirts. Don't steal it. Six dollars an hour. Six dollars an
hour. If you spent 10 hours here it's 60 dollars. Oh that's crazy. Yeah just an hour I guess. We'll
just walk around for an hour and then keep driving. That's Key West prices. Yeah I was gonna say I
don't know that might be the most expensive per hour. We got parked. We have one hour.
Yeah this is the banana cafe. Look at they have a breakfast crepe, a Benedict crepe. That sounds
fun. It's hard to pick a spot. It is yeah there's some fun ones. I can smell croissants. I can smell
buttery flaky croissants. Smells good. Mission number one I need some caffeine. Okay so it's
10 o'clock. I had my first and only cup of coffee at five o'clock. It's been five hours
and I have to say I need a little pick me up. Sometimes when we go for coffee out we get decaf
because we've already had our cup of coffee. But I'm gonna go full throttle today. I'm gonna get
caffeinated. You so crazy. I so crazy. I know it's before my caffeine cutoff time.
This is cute. Yeah this looks like a good spot to get it to go cup. It sure does. I'm assuming
it's pretty good since there's like two of these in Key West. There are two locations. I just like
their marketing. I like the like the black and yellow Cuban coffee queen. Fun to say.
I think. Did you wear those? I might wear that blue one. I was just reading that drink more Cuban
coffee and do stupid things faster. That's what I plan to do today. I'm just gonna do stupid things
really fast all day today starting in about five minutes. That passes the hand test. We'd get one
yellow and one black so we know who's the suess. Yay. I need to get this in me as fast as possible
because I'm dragging a little bit and this looks delicious doesn't it? Yeah. At home we always have
just black coffee and nothing special and so whenever we go out for coffee we always enjoy
a little bit of milk in it. It's like a little treat. So these are just regular iced Cuban coffees.
Yep. Iced Cuban coffee with milk. With milk but what makes these special I'm gonna try to show you
is the ice cubes are actually made of coffee so you don't have to worry about your coffee
getting all watered down as the ice melts because it's just coffee. I think that's a brilliant idea
and I was actually contemplating getting hot Cuban coffee but now that we're outside and
in the sun I'm really glad that I got the iced. Yeah that would not have been a good call. Well
the problem with the ice is it's so good. I could literally drink this in like one minute. It's good.
Fifteen dollars all day. That's cheap. That's a good price. Yeah that's cheaper than parking.
Yeah if you can find like a cheap all-day lot to park in.
The rooster is trying to drink the ice cube.
There's a chicken feather in here. A rooster feather. The sunshade didn't block that huh?
One of the things that we have never done in Key West that's probably one of the most popular
things to do. Yeah. It's the Hemingway house tour. I don't even know what's there. Lots of
cats I hear. Well it's like a guided tour so I figure we'll just go and learn a lot about it.
Like you know that's the point. Yeah. Hemingway is such an interesting character and you know
it would be just cool to learn more about his history here in Key West. Yeah so this is a good
example of you know all those other times we were here when we say next time. Yes. That's this time.
Head northeast towards Simonton Street and turn left onto Truman Avenue.
Wow that's interesting. So if there's any like free parking up here. I don't know it looks like
it's all pay. This is a tight spot. Yeah but it's easy to park because it's like so short you know.
I think we've snabbed a free parking spot. No reservations needed. They just pump these tours
out all day. In and out. In and out. In and out. You know what? I like that you don't have to have a
reservation because that adds stress. I like just walking up whenever you want because things like
parking, eating, needing to go to the bathroom those can all like take time to figure out.
How cool that house is already huh? Uh-huh. I hear there's a lot of cats in here. Yeah cats are part
of it. Is it? Like that's part of the thing? Those have six toes don't they? Oh his original one.
Don't interact with that. You can pet them but don't pick them up. Yeah. No carrying them around Aaron.
Uh is there a cash discount? No. Okay card. The paw picture right here is perfect. Look at him. He's got
Did you see his six paws? Yeah I'm trying to get a good shot of the six six toes but
where's the six? Is it right up there? One, two, three, four, five. Six? One, two, three, four, five, six.
Six. Two tickets was $39 with a credit card. If you pay cash you save $1 you'd get in for $38.
Yeah here's the there's the sixth paw way on the right. Far on the right. You might have missed it
in your photo. Yeah there it is. So I sadly don't know the complete story of the six-toed cats but
I know his original like cat had six toes. Maybe we'll find out huh? Yeah. Okay. Does the self-tour
have any like audio or anything? They have a QR code that you can scan. Don't use the public wi-fi.
Should just turn my wi-fi off shouldn't I? Oh man that's a lot to read. You can't read and watch
and look and I'd have to sit down for 10 minutes at each spot. I didn't bring my reading glasses so
this is like this is literally painful for me to try to squint at. So we decided to do the the
guided tour because the self-guided is a little it's a lot of reading and it's easier to listen
and just like I like to visually look at my surroundings. If it was like a quick read where
it's really high level cliffs notes that'd be totally different but that was a lot of reading.
Grounds are beautiful. Yeah it's very comfortable. Oh they do private events.
I think I've learned to love these old historic homes with all this fancy furniture and beautiful
Everything here has a story and so uncle Gus bought them the house as well for eight thousand
dollars. 40 years worth of back taxes and before we start I always love to mention the lithograph
because I always had to read old man in the sea. Probably in high school you will get to read old
man in the sea. This is the real old man Gregorio Fuentes. That's our fishing buddy from Cuba who
lived to be 104. He made it to 2002 which put him 50 years past the book. Every cat here is
related to cat number one in a picture. This one is not a good day for Ernest. He had too many martinis
downtown. He got back to his apartment and his toilet didn't flush because he was pulling the
wrong chain and pulled the skylight out of the ceiling cracked him on the head and never spoke
of it again. This wasn't something to brag about like there's more injuries. I'm allergic to all
the cats in this house. I'm gonna start sneezing. There's a lot of them and plus all those fans were
like blowing around. This is the coolest part of the house. I know you could just hang out here for
sure. I love it out here. Tight squeeze. There's the six toe tracks. Ernest didn't want to pull
because this is where his boxing ring used to be. He spent 10 months and $20,000 in his absence.
That's a 400 grand surprise in today's number. They have a team of five people that all they do is
take care of the cats. The 61 cats. How do I get that job? Five people. Yes. Oh you can't actually
Only the cats can go all the way in. Is this cool or what? That is super cool. So that's his actual
typewriter. Yeah the cats get to really go anywhere. It's like they own the house still.
The cats can just do whatever they want. They can go on the 300 year old furniture and everything.
That's the writing studio. That's it. See those little tidbits you get from the tour guides. Yeah
and you almost like that's because it's such a small area they can't bring the tour up there.
So you gotta get that on your own. That was very special up there. Very special. I really do
appreciate that the tours are 30 minutes. It makes it really inviting. You know there's a lot to see
and do in Key West and when you spend a lot of time driving to get down here it's nice to know
that oh you can go do that for 30 minutes. Yeah and even just being able to stay on the grounds
and walk around for as long as you want or just sit here in the shade or just really enjoy this
property. I mean the compound is amazing. It's so beautiful. The landscaping is beautiful and
what I really like is when you're inside the house and looking out the windows you see all
the tropical palms like in every window so when you're inside you feel like you're outside. It's
like big house goals. House goals. Yeah. Lunchtime? Yes. Hungry. So next up we're going to a place
we've been to before but it's one of our favorites and it's more of a local known place because it's
off of the main touristy areas. Eaton Street. I am starving. I can't wait. I love Eaton Street.
I've been thinking about it for years. It's a close drive. I thought it was like a 17 minute
mile walk. Yeah it's only a half mile from here but when it takes you 20 minutes to walk there
and then 20 minutes to go back. It adds up. Yep. This is why when we had the e-bikes last time
easy peasy. Yeah this is a great little city to e-bike in for sure which is why there's so many
bike rentals around. Duval Street one more time. Why not? It might not be the last time either.
They look closed babe. Oh no they're not closed they're just not busy. That's exactly what we
came for. Best lobster rolls in Key West. Eaton Street Seafood Market. This is where the locals go
and you can see like it's just not even busy right now. I know we actually had to do like a double
take like is it even open? But it is. It's just not packed with people which we really love.
We've even parked our bikes right there. Are you excited or what? Super excited.
Thank you so much. Oh yeah they do a cup of that clam chowder for six bucks.
This is a great spot. Fresh catch plate of the day $26. That's a really good price.
Yeah that's super cheap. How good the seafood looks. This is where this is where I really
miss having our tremor truck with the Dometic cooler permanently turned on in the back seat.
I loved it because you'd come up into places like these you go put it in the
truck and it'd be on refrigeration. There's black grouper here too.
That's not too far off what we've paid. Oh thank you. Lobster warm. Lobster cold. Would you look
at that? And actually when we did our Keys to Canada trip a couple years ago we learned that
a lot of the good lobster places only serve it cold because it just is better that way. Like it
doesn't overcook that way. So I have an appreciation for that cold lobster and I don't
mind a little bit of mayo. So I'm excited because every single time we've been here we've both
only gotten it hot. So this is something new for me which I always appreciate. So the lobster rolls
here last time we came were like $27.95 which is like the cheapest lobster rolls you can almost
a touristy place. Yeah. Or touristy area I should say. And especially one of this size. Like this is
a good amount of lobster. Yeah so that's one of the reasons that we always love coming here. They
have they have fair priced items. They have fair price items. It's just easy. You go in you order
it's fast. It's not a whole it doesn't take like two hours to go get lunch here. And it's simple
it's just lobster. With coleslaw and plantain chips. I remember the first time getting these
plantain chips. I thought that was so unique and so different and so Key West. We love it here.
We keep coming back. The atmosphere is great. Even this old building with the pink and the white
makes me happy when I see it. It's something that I think we'll continue to come back to.
Butter. I can't believe you passed up on the butter and you went with the mayo. Well I wanted
to do it. She said that this was done in like a lime mayo mix and she said it's her favorite way
to eat it. You know I'm all about asking. This is a lime butter mix here. Oh yeah. Okay look at that.
It just looks good. I like that they cut it in half too. I know it makes it a little more manageable.
Toasted. Toasted cold. I can see I got accidentally squirted the the camera lens.
My heart is beating. This is exactly what I wanted. I was hungry. Sometimes it's good to
just know what you're getting into and know that you have a good thing ahead because
a bad meal out can be disappointed with the prices of meals nowadays. Like we knew we would love it
here and I'm so happy we came. Yeah. Where do you think they get their bread from? A bakery? I don't know.
It's so much lobster. I know. It's like how do you even, you almost gotta, you almost gotta take a
chunk out of the top. It's just so good. It's so good. It's just lobster and butter and lime and a little
bit of toast. You can't beat it. That's one of the best looking roosters I've ever seen. You're
impressed. It is a healthy looking rooster. Well I mean he gets to pick up lobster scraps all day so
he's eating good. Okay guys. Lunch was perfect. I actually said it. Eaton Street is one of my
favorite restaurants in the entire country. What else is perfect? The weather. It is like
the best weather we've ever had in Key West. It's not hot. It's not humid. It's not cold. It's really
rare. It's not windy. It's like perfect. So since we just did something that we've done before we're
gonna try something that we haven't done before next which is Fort Zachary Taylor
Fort. They have a beach there. They have an actual fort. You know yeah. Do people go there to swim?
I actually haven't researched it a whole ton because we've never really had enough time.
It's never been on our list to do. It hasn't. So you know Hemingway House, Fort Zachary Taylor.
It's such a weird name. Fort Zachary Taylor. What was the kid's name from
Tool Time? Home Improvement. The kid. Oh. Zachary Taylor Ryan. Thomas. Zachary Taylor Thomas. JTT.
Jonathan Taylor Thomas.
You see that guy? Little White House. We've never been in there but I think you can just walk
through there. There's a little plaque on that wall. You can try to. Oh it's Harry Truman.
That looks like beautiful property. This blinker is hard to see. Truman Annex. It looks like it'd
be a paid entry but it's not. This is cool. Look at this. It's beautiful. We've never been to this
part of Key West before. We're already putting the Bronco to new exploration. Yes ROI. I don't
know about the ROI. Oh look at that. Wow. Naval Air Station. Yeah this is all new. New for us.
New for us. Not new. Two persons, seven dollars. Oh and then each additional person fifty cents.
Okay so seven dollars. Got it. What a perfect day today huh? Oh my goodness.
I've heard this is a like a kind of a secret little beach that is really beautiful down here.
I already have warm fuzzy feelings just driving in and seeing did you see that picture of the
water that was up there like how perfectly blue and emerald it was. I mean the water here is
incredible and that's why so many people love the Keys as people that are that are fishing
or boating or doing water sports and when you don't do any of those things you really got to
find these little opportunities to get on the water. So the first parking lot on the right is
the fort and then the rest is like beaches and stuff so we'll get out and check out the fort.
Okay. Yeah. Greetings from Key West. Home of Fort Zachary Taylor. All right let's do this.
Let's see what we can find. Oh they got bathrooms right away that's good.
It's crazy to think that this was built back in the 1800s. Lots of wars back then. Such a different
way of life. So not a history major but Zachary Taylor was a U.S. president. The 12th.
I think I remember learning about President Taylor. Remember when you have to memorize the
the presidents? Yeah uh-huh yeah. Number 12. It does sound familiar. Yep. One of three civil era
forts built in Key West. So I heard the ranger say two interesting things about Key West.
One was that the navy doubled the physical land size of Key West. Like it it made this part like
there used to be um you know a lot less land here and they actually like physically man-made it.
That would explain why it's so large in comparison to the other keys. Yes yep exactly and then they
you know didn't need as much of the land up in the 80s and they they gave some. In the 1980s.
Yes gave some away to the states. Which was very recent in like 1980s. Yeah so recent so recent.
Yeah gave some away to the state of Florida and then some to the city of Key West. From a tourist
perspective it's so easy to just do Duval street or Hemingway house but there's so much history to
be appreciated and when you actually take the time to come to these forts and things that are a little
bit less traveled than the other touristy things it's very powerful it's very impactful. Yeah. And
I'm always glad we come like it's always like why wouldn't you want to come here and learn about the
history. This is why we come to places multiple times and it's not just a one and done situation
so next time man next time. I think the ocean's right over here. Oh water. So you said the sea
used to be crashing into the walls. Right here? Yep. Wow. There was 200 cannons facing the ocean.
And then they built this out? Yeah. There's such a unique color on him. Right? Orange?
Yeah he's big. So you saw one that big in town? Yes.
Cruise ship. Yeah. 12 inch long range rifle. I wonder if the 12 inch means the size of the
cannonball or um what do they call it like a it's not a shell.
Shell. Thousand pounds. A thousand pound shell. So they're setting up for a wedding right now.
I can see a sneak peek of the flowers they were really pretty. I just I couldn't even imagine
that's such a such a cool historic I'm sure it's a military wedding I'm assuming. Yeah.
Somebody in the navy? I don't know but it would be a really really special event. Yeah. It's a
Friday today so it's either Saturday or Sunday. I mean look at this. Oh there's the iguana.
Another one. That's so cool. The walls are like 20 feet tall.
Looks like it's sunlight. There's one window. It's not much of a prison cell. Not the worst prison
cell I've ever stepped into. So how many prison cells have you been into? A few. Numerous. Yeah.
Yeah that's not bad if you're just there by yourself.
Maybe they had to put several people in there but soldiers sailors and blockade runners were
often held there until they could be tried for their charges. Conspirators of Abraham Lincoln
were held there before going to the dry tortugas. You know dry tortugas is still in our next time
list. Yep dry tortugas. Next time. The thing that's hard about the dry tortugas is having
dogs at home. Yeah that's post Basenji time. Yeah. Look at those shells are 80 pounds.
Just the force of the 80 pounds alone would get you. 150 pounds. You see that bar shot way in the
back? Yeah. That looks like it would hurt. Yeah yes it would. So the first part of the state park
is the fort. It's not a huge tour but I mean you know you could spend. Still impactful. Yeah half
hour there. Pretty cool to see. And then I think the rest is the beaches. Which I'm excited to see
what that looks like. Beautiful. There's the water I wanted to see. Yeah every time you see the water
you always smile. When you see uh class b vans hanging out in a parking lot then you know it's
probably a beautiful spot right? This is one of the nicest beaches I think I've ever seen.
I think the water, the waves, the coloring like this is definitely the highlight of my entire
day today. It's probably even better than the lobster roll. It's probably one of the nicest
beaches in the keys because the keys aren't known for like. They're not known for the beaches.
Yeah and this one is I mean it's just as beautiful. I don't know if it's partially man-made but it's
beautiful. Breezy, windy. I like it here. And when the sun is hitting that water you get all the colors.
You get the emeralds and the jades and yeah turquoise. Yep. Kids are laughing and giggling.
It's just a perfect day. A perfect way to end our Key West day. Yeah yeah. Now if we had enough time
to sit and watch the sunset this this is the spot to do it. That would take the cake yeah. Yeah but
the sun doesn't set till 5 30. We got an hour drive back and and we got to get back to the
little doggies. Yeah. We'll watch the sunset at home. Yeah I'm so glad we came to this spot. You know it's
it's a little tack on at the end and it end up sealing the deal for us. Yeah we've never been
here before. We've heard about it and it's it's worth the the entrance fee. If you have time to
like sit and spend a day this would be a great spot to just sit and hang out at the beach. You
Look what showed up today. That's the piece I need right there. Louie you gonna put it in for me?
