INDIAN STREET FOOD Tour for MEAT LOVERS | Lucknow, India

This is for sure one of my favorite meatballs of all time. It's spicy, soft, oh wow. Good morning everyone, I hope you're doing well. This is David Hoffman from David's Been Here in beautiful sunny Lucknow, India. Today I'm going to all-out food tour with my friend Aishu. We're going to be eating some kebabs, some biryani, some chicken masala, chicken tandoori, oh I cannot wait. I am so hungry, I'm so pumped. Let's go eat our hearts out in Lucknow. So Aishu. Hello, here I am. We are at Chowk, trying some makhan. So this is the old town? Yeah that's the old town. And this is what we're going to try right? Yeah that's what we're going to try. That's called makhan, that's famous from Chowk Lucknow. Makhan, so it's like a sweet right? That's a sweet. It looks like, I think it has the same thing in Delhi, similar. Yeah it's like whipping cream. Yeah that's a cream. Okay so let's try it. Okay yeah. So this is makhan, it has something similar in Delhi. It's like a whipping cream, it's delicious. I didn't know I was going to be eating sweet for breakfast, but this is like milk and yogurt. They let it sit for 5 hours, I guess they beat it together. It's straight up like whipping cream. You like it? Yeah of course, it's good. Really good. Yeah it's really light, but it's definitely sweet. That's the milk cream, they just whip it and the cream comes out, that's the cream. For me this is whipping cream back home. It's addictive, it's so good. Good beginning, good beginning of the day with the makhan. Let's do it. Basically Chowk is famous for its makhan, and we'll get it from the morning and we sell it till the evening. Starts in the morning and sells till the evening around 6 p.m. Yeah. We are going to the tunday kebabs in Aminabad and that's the original tunday, and we are going to try some kebabs and they're really good. It's called Aminabad, it's the market area. The tunday kebab is like the most famous kebab in India. Here in Lucknow is where it started. We're going to the original right now. There's many locations throughout the city, but he was telling me tunday, what it means is man with no hands. So there was a guy there working with no hands and that's how it got its name. I've been hearing so many good things about this place because worldwide it's famous and I'm ready to eat. We've arrived in Aminabad area. This is a market. It's the biggest market in Lucknow and we can basically buy everything here. Let's see what we find. But first up is kebabs. Definitely have to be careful walking in the street because there's so many people just racing through on scooters and motorcycles. Even this guy right here. We are right here. So here we see is the wall of fame of tunday kebab. All the famous Bollywood celebrities and the politicians that visited this place are in these photographs here. I don't know who anybody is here. These are all Bollywood stars? Big stars. Yeah that's it. That's the kebab and that's the paratha. So here we have the most famous kebab in India at tunday kebab and here we have a paratha. So how do I eat this? You just take a corn, just yeah, take it off, have a little bit of this. A little bit? A little bit of this and you eat it. Wow those spices. So basically the best thing to do is grab it. It's like a little meatball basically with a little onion. Unreal. I think we have to order more. It's so good. The best thing ever. Oh my god. So meat mixed with spices. This is like the best meatball I've ever had. Just the way they put it together and I like how it's mushy. It's mushy and it's creamy. Yeah mushy, creamy. Get a little onion. A little onion. They also put a little bit of lime here. That's for you dude. I just had these four for myself. I needed them. Wow. It's too delicious and the bread is like perfect mix because I wouldn't want to just eat it with a fork you know. I want to eat it with bread. It actually tastes really good with the lemon. Really amazing. So he's telling me to try it without the bread. Yeah without the bread. So soft. This is kebab heaven. So there's the market. Yeah it's all the market. They have a lot of beautiful clothing over here. So basically in Aminabad you'll get everything, each and everything. These are shops for paintings, for clothing, stationery shops. Everything you'll get here. Dude I need a haircut so bad. Yeah. So I found this little barber. His shop is like very small. It's a two-seater shop and we're gonna cut my hair. Got a haircut. We're walking through Mohan market. This is a clothing market. Here you can buy you know clothing for men, women, children. It's pretty amazing. And here we go. Mohan market. You really could buy anything here huh? Yeah you can buy anything. You'll get each and everything. This place is pretty wild. It's like probably like two or three thousand vendors selling everything. Scarves, clothing, even winter gear. I mean it is winter here but but it's pretty hot right now. There's a few more steps to my shop. I Ayesha's a little shy so his father owns a shop right here. We're gonna stop there and say hi to his dad and then we'll continue to our next destination. Hey how you doing? David, pleasure. Nice to meet you. How's everything? My next place is going to is a like restaurant lane. It's called the Tulsi lane. It's there are like ample of restaurants on the same lane. So there we're We are going to try a lot of food. I think a lot of chicken. Everything will be great. Perfect. Really spicy? Yeah. Oh my god don't tell me that. That's all the restaurants out here. Sorry too much honking but so here we have a row of restaurants. Lots of chicken. Let's eat some We are at the open-air restaurant in Lucknow and basically this restaurant is famous for its Mughlai cuisine. Mughlai cuisine consists of this tandoori chicken, mutton chicken curries and everything. We came here to the open-air restaurant to try chicken tandoori. Chicken tandoori is basically roasted chicken that has been wrapped with many spices and then and cooked in the tandoor with coal. What's up guys? You good? Here we have a chicken tandoori. Look at this. A little drumstick. Looks so delicious. Wow it's very soft. The spices are very light. This is really good. Wow delicious. What do I like the most? The little wings here. I hate saying this all the time but it's like part of the best the best of the best. I've never had chicken this delicious before. The spices they put on it are just so unique. So I'm going to have the chicken tandoori and this looks amazing. Super soft. It's delicious. This chicken tandoori is so fire. Oh man so tasty. Even the bones taste good. Next stuff is like we'll be trying the biryani. Chicken biryani. That's basically chicken with rice. So we are at Noshi Jahan and it's the handi biryani. It's cooked inside a chicken handi and all the flavors go inside the rice and chicken. That's basically in a pot. So it's all cooked in a pot. Chicken biryani in a clay pot. Wow delicious. Oh the rice has all these different flavors. I'm gonna get a piece of chicken right here. So just grab it like this. I love this chicken biryani. It's like jam-packed with flavors. So they have two different versions. They have a lamb version and they have chicken version. We went with chicken because Lucknow is famous for their chicken. It's delicious. If you like flavors and you like rice, this is your dish. Really delicious. The smell, the aroma is like really wonderful. Here at Noshi Jahan they make ice cream live and we're going to see them make it right here in the front. It's like ice cream rolls. They are gonna put milk on a really good surface and they're gonna toss that with fruits and everything and then they'll make the roll out of it. So it will be really fun. The ice cream roll. I've never seen that made before. It looks delicious. There's a few different fruits in here. There's some chocolate fudge on top. Just broke right through. Very good. It's a very fruity vanilla. Wow man. This is delicious. It's amazing. So we are here trying the ice cream. So like it's like really fruity. It's really rice. 100% fresh. Another bite. I don't love ice cream and I like this a lot. Words can't describe how delicious this is. I gotta tell all you guys the best way to get around all of India is by using Uber. It's extremely efficient. I mean this is the best way. They come to exactly where you are. They take you where you want to go. You don't have to deal with taxis. I love Uber. I've been using every single day in India. I've been using every single day for the past two years. So I'm definitely a huge fan. Yeah I've also been using Uber quite often. It's like the best thing to move around the city. So our food tour here in Lucknow is over. We tried five delicious things. We tried in the morning the veg tea choc for the makhan. The makhan which is like a whipped cream. Then we went over to Tunde Kababi to try the most famous kebabs in all of India. We went over to what's the street name? So we went to Tulsi Street and there we tried chicken tandoori. We tried chicken briyani and we tried ice cream rolls. Everything was delicious. My favorite were the kebabs. I also loved the chicken tandoori. I mean every single thing was delicious. Even the briyani was out of control. Sorry that I wasn't so upbeat today. I'm still a little sick. I was sick for the past four days here in India. Just want you guys to all be aware when you come to India get some Pepto Bismol. Take one for breakfast and one before lunch so your stomach can be like ready and coated for all the foods and spices that we're not used to. But yeah food was amazing here. It was amazing.
