http://www.siberescue.com/ What is Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue, Inc.?
Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue, Inc. (TOTTSHR) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to finding homes for Siberian Huskies and Siberian Husky mixes in need, informing the public about the general characteristics of the breed, and educating the public about the responsibilities of pet ownership.
Our organization comprises a network of caring and passionate individuals who give their time to volunteer in a variety of different ways: transporting dogs, fostering, checking applications, performing home checks, raising funds, introducing the public to the wonderful world of Siberian Huskies, training, and much more. Working together and with the continued help of generous people who donate either their time or money to the rescue, we hope to reach more and more people to let them know we exist, that the Siberian Husky is not the breed for everyone, and to help as many Siberian Huskies in need as possible. We hope one day to build a shelter to house homeless Siberian Huskies, to have a vet on staff to keep the rescued dogs healthy, and to have a training facility to work with Siberian Husky owners.

Hi guys! Happy Project for Awesome day!
If you don't know what Project for Awesome is, you can click over here.
There will be a link to a video explaining what it is.
Basically what it is, is it's a day that we take over YouTube talking about different charities.
The past few years, I have done the Huron Humane Society as my charity, but this year I decided to do something different.
As you guys know, we have Huskies.
We get so many emails and questions from you guys asking, you know...
Are they good dogs? How hard are they to take care of? Do they shed? Are they trainable?
A lot of questions about them. Can they live inside? Can they live in warm weather?
Are they good with kids? Are they good with cats? Are they good with other dogs?
A lot of people, unlike most of you who actually ask the questions first...
They must think I have treats!
Unlike a lot of you guys who ask the questions first, there are people out there that just go out and get a Husky thinking...
Oh! I want it because it has pretty blue eyes!
Oh! I want it because I've always wanted one and they look like wolves!
Those aren't really reasons to get a dog, but there are people out there that do that.
Then a year goes by and the dog has destroyed everything they own.
Or has escaped and dug big holes in their yard and jumped over their fence.
So, people get frustrated.
There are people out there who, because of frustrations like that, will give up on their animal.
When things like that happen, something has to happen to the animal.
A lot of times, they end up going to shelters.
Fortunately, there are rescues out there that help many of these breed specific animals that end up in shelters.
The rescue that we're supporting today for Project for Austin is called,
The Tales of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue.
They are a non-profit rescue that helps to rescue Huskies who need to be re-homed.
Re-homing isn't always because somebody got the dog and decided it was too much for them.
There are other reasons that re-homing can happen.
Maybe an illness in the family. Maybe a death in the family.
Nobody wants to take the dog.
There are many reasons that dogs can need to be re-homed.
What these breed specific rescues, such as Tales of the Tundra Husky Rescue does,
what they do is, they screen people when they want to get a dog.
When they want to get a Husky.
They make sure, are you a Husky approved home?
Do you realize that Huskies take all of this work?
The breed has traits that pretty much all Huskies have.
The running, the high energy, the digging, the shedding.
You don't shed, do you?
I get that question a lot. Do they shed?
Yes, Huskies shed twice a year for six months at a time.
The Tales of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue is the rescue that we want to promote today for our Project for Austin video.
They are an awesome rescue.
Their website is Siberescue.com.
I'll put a link in the description down below.
I'll also put the areas that their rescue covers.
There are Husky rescues all across the United States and many other places actually too.
I'll put a bunch of links down below.
If you are looking for a Husky, trust me, you don't necessarily want a puppy.
Puppies are a lot of work.
If you think about it, if you go to one of these rescues,
you have a chance to get a dog who maybe came from a broken home or maybe just didn't have enough love.
I don't have any more treats.
You really have the ability to change their lives and make it better.
That goes for any animal, dog or cat that's saved from a shelter or a rescue.
You really have the opportunity to make their lives so much better with just a little bit of work.
To me, that is more rewarding than just getting the puppy and doing all of that.
To be able to help a dog in need, especially a Husky, I just think it's a wonderful thing.
So anyway, like I said, today is Project for Austin.
The idea behind these videos is that we take over YouTube.
What I want you to do, is I want you to share this video with everybody you know.
Go to the Husky Rescue pages on Facebook.
Share the video. Tweet it out to your friends.
Comment on the video. Comment over and over and over.
The more comments the video gets, the higher up it's going to push us up,
so more people will have the chance to see this video.
All the links down below, the top link is going to be to Tales of the Tundra.
If you got a few extra dollars, go donate to them.
They also have a calendar for sale on their website right now too.
I think it's like $12.
So, you know, you looking for a calendar?
The New Year's coming? Go buy a calendar from them.
Give them a few bucks.
Every little bit helps when it comes to rescues like that.
I know with Tales of the Tundra, most of their Huskies are actually in foster homes,
which is a wonderful thing.
That way the dogs aren't just sitting in a kennel sad all alone.
Most of them are in foster homes.
So anyway, you're probably going to be seeing a lot of these videos today.
Any of the Project for Awesome videos that you see, share.
Share with your friends. Comment on them.
Give them likes. Give them favorites.
All that stuff.
We pretty much want to take over the whole front page of YouTube.
A lot of places pick the bigger charities.
All the years I've done it, I like to pick the smaller ones.
Because the big ones get a lot of promotion.
Sometimes the smaller ones seem to get left behind.
You know, you guys know, as well as anybody,
that we're very passionate about the Husky breed.
We try to educate you guys as much as we can,
about what we know about Huskies.
Like I said, we get tons of questions.
These rescues also do the same types of things.
We like to show our support for them.
If you want, there's links in the description below.
I'll have their website, their Facebook page and all that down there.
Like I said, below that I'll have a bunch of other Husky rescues
that we're friends with on Facebook and that we also support.
We support them all!
Tales of the Tundra is probably just one of my favorite ones.
Yes! Oh! Thank you for your paw! Thank you!
I love you!
Thanks for watching you guys!
If you didn't get a chance, check out yesterday's video.
We're actually doing a t-shirt giveaway.
You have to go to yesterday's video and follow the instructions in the video
to have a chance to win a t-shirt from Shiloh and Shelby's store!
Yay!
I love you!
Happy Project for Awesome Day you guys!
Go out there and search for more videos.
Give everybody, comments and likes and thumbs up!
Yes!
Let's show them, how much we support all these awesome charities
that you're going to see today.
Thanks for watching!
Oh! I hugged you!
I hugged you!
Whoa!
