It is a very special day in the Snow Dog house because our sweet, happy senior Memphis is turning 13! To celebrate this incredible milestone, we are going into the kitchen to bake her something truly out of this world. Since Memphis is getting an entire birthday month, we decided a standard cake just wouldn't do—we are making a DIY Galaxy Birthday Cake! From farm-fresh eggs to colorful "space" frosting, follow along as Memphis, Kira, and Eleanor (the chaotic helper!) taste-test their way through this birthday surprise. It is so important to celebrate these senior years, and we are so grateful to have our sweet girl reaching the big 13. Remember, life is short, make memories with your dogs!
GALAXY BIRTHDAY CAKE RECIPE
This easy dog-friendly cake is perfect for birthdays or any special celebration.
Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour (or wheat/gluten-free substitute)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda (floof powder!)
1 farm fresh egg
1/8 cup coconut cooking oil (unflavored and unsweetened)
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup pure pumpkin (NOT pumpkin pie mix)
1/4 cup peanut butter (must be Xylitol-free)
Whipped cream cheese (for the frosting)
All-natural food coloring (pink, blue, and purple)
Dog-safe sprinkles
