Does Florida's new law attack extremists or free speech?
Marjorie Taylor Greene is replaced.
And Trump declares war on podcasters.
Then more on this week's America Uncovered headlines.
Welcome to America Uncovered, I'm Chris Chappell.
And whoa, it's been a crazy week.
On Tuesday, everybody and their cousin was screaming on social media that the world was
going to end after Trump posted some pretty ominous truths.
Only to scream equally loudly about Taco Tuesday when Pakistan brokered a ceasefire, with a
little help from China.
On Wednesday, the ceasefire almost got blown up after Israel blew up a route in Lebanon.
Iran said the Lebanon attack violated the ceasefire.
US Vice President J.D. Vance said that Lebanon was never part of the ceasefire.
And Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz again.
Today is Saturday.
I've aged 10 years in the last 5 days.
Thankfully, the ceasefire is seemingly holding, at least as of this recording.
And then Yahoo says Israel wants to start peace talks with Lebanon as soon as possible.
But with everything that's been happening in the Middle East, there are a few other
things going on that you might have missed.
Like the world's oldest known tortoise is still alive.
April Fool's rumors spread that the 193-year-old died, but as you can see, he's still around.
Oh, and there appears to be a chimp civil war in Uganda.
This is not the way.
A special election was held in Marjorie Taylor Greene's district to find her replacement
after she resigned.
Coincidentally, just two days after her pension kicked in.
The election was seen as a test of voters' opinion on Trump's war slash military operation
in Iran.
Especially since MTG, a former staunch Trump ally, is now one of his fiercest critics.
Many analysts suspected that between Greene turning on Trump and the unpopularity of many
of his actions, a Democrat could even flip the seat, and nope, Republican Clay Fuller
won with Trump's endorsement.
Maybe Trump's military operation in Iran isn't as unpopular as some say.
But hey, with any consolation prize, Democrats had one of their best election night showings
in the district in recent memory.
By getting absolutely dominated instead of absolutely embarrassingly dominated.
So I guess that's a victory of sorts.
And just south of Georgia, in Florida, Governor and Meatwad from Aqua Teen Hunger Force in
Toupee, Ron DeSantis, signed a sweeping anti-jihad bill targeting terrorist organizations and
Sharia law.
At least, that's how Florida legislators are referring to the bill.
Opponents of it say it's just an excuse to label groups as terrorists and expel student
supporters.
So like I think every time I look at a hot dog, what's actually in it?
The bill gives DeSantis and other top Florida leaders the ability to designate groups as
foreign or domestic terrorists, and strip them of non-profit status.
It also makes it a felony for anyone to provide quote-unquote material support, including
money, weapons, or military training to designated groups.
And students who support the group can be expelled.
Florida leaders say this is being done to stop Islamic extremism from spreading.
Opponents say it's an excuse to silent people who disagree with them.
And orthodontists say DeSantis should really do something about that underbite.
So like beauty, terrorists are in the eye of the beholder.
Though I guess terrorists would remove the eye of the beholder.
Granting Florida leaders this power now might seem like a good idea if you support them.
But if and when Democrats take back the state, what's to stop them from using this law to
say, you know, Islamic extremists aren't the problem.
White supremacists.
Now those are the terrorists.
But this isn't the only issue DeSantis is trying to tackle.
He also wants to ban first cousin marriages.
Is that a widespread problem in Florida?
Is Florida Man crazy because of generations of inbreeding?
I guess it's true when they say the further north you go in Florida, the further south
you are.
So is DeSantis trying to stop first cousin marriage because of genetic issues and societal
taboos?
No, apparently that's also part of Islamic extremism.
Florida doesn't ban cousin marriage.
And that's that's an easy, that's a hanging curveball for us to do.
We need to do that.
Other states have done it.
I don't know why we wouldn't.
But obviously that feeds in to some of the the stealth jihad that we see, you know, when
you're allowing things like that.
It's things that are coming in from other cultures.
Like someone who bought way too many souvenirs on vacation.
There's a lot to unpack here.
First of all, trying to ban cousin marriages.
DeSantis just lost his own support in trailer park communities.
And the royal family.
He probably could have just said, we should ban marrying cousins because ew, come on guys.
Family reunions shouldn't be singles functions.
But if he thinks labeling this as a form of terrorism will help speed up getting the practice
banned, then I'm all for it.
I'm going to do the same thing and start calling screaming toddlers sitting next to me on airplanes
jihadists.
After all, they've ruined multiple flights to New York.
Speaking of things that get under your skin, measles.
Ok, I guess on to it.
There, are you happy, you joke sticklers?
Measles is continuing to spread in various parts of the US.
This is what happens when these backwoods science-rejecting hillbillies refuse to get
vaccinated in deep red states like California.
Hmm.
Yes, measles is spreading in California.
Making this a surprise segment of Really California, Really?
This is a lovely reminder that when you think of anti-vaxxers, you shouldn't just think
of your stereotypical dumb rednecks.
You should also think of stereotypical dumb crunchy hippies.
Wow.
If those two groups can agree on something, then why can't we all just get along?
From a distance.
Otherwise, those two groups co-mingling could become a measles super-spreader event.
The RMS-2 space crew flew around the moon.
And captured this unbelievable view of an Earth set.
Unbelievable.
Because I don't believe it.
You think I'm an idiot who believes the Earth is a round globe.
Roll the true footage.
Yep.
Just like I thought.
Haters will say this is AI.
Alright, we have to talk about the Sunrise Movement.
They're a political action organization that claims to be the climate revolution and wants
everyone to have clean air and water.
Pretty basic desires.
Who wouldn't want that?
That doesn't sound too radical, right?
Well, according to slides obtained by Fox News, this Antifa-linked group plans to structurally
change the US.
They plan on doing this through organized protest, mass strikes, getting their preferred
candidates elected in 2028, then starting an eco-socialist revolution by the 2030s.
Sunrise Movement does a lot of their recruiting on college campuses.
Hopefully, they'll stay out of the Sunshine State, though, because even though this isn't
an Islamic organization, I'm sure Ron DeSantis would have no problem labeling them as terrorists.
Even though the likelihood of their goals coming true makes them less terrorists and
more wishful thinkers.
The plan's more convoluted than how liberals refer to the gay community in Canada.
M-M-I-W-G-2-S-L-G-B-T-Q-Q-I-A plus.
I'm pretty sure if you say that out loud, then hit select, start, you get 30 extra lives.
Speaking of health, US Secretary of Health and Human Services, RFK Jr., now has a podcast.
This podcast is about telling the truth, especially when it's uncomfortable.
I'm going to have fearless conversations with critical thinkers, including independent
doctors, respected scientists, and leaders in medical innovation and research.
I'm shocked he's able to find time to do this, considering his busy schedule of running
the Department of Health and Human Services and cold plunging with Kid Rock in denim like
a never-nude.
Hopefully these conversations will lead to breakthroughs in helping people with various
ailments, and not lead to RFK Jr. being roasted by the President of the United States on social
media like some other podcast hosts.
Yeah, I'm not reading all that.
But basically Trump has declared war on Candace Owens, Megyn Kelly, Tucker Carlson, and even
Alex Jones.
You know, a few years ago when I was on Timcast, I found a tinfoil hat that Alex Jones made.
I put it on, and I could see all potential futures stretching out before me like a vast
web.
The sad thing is, we actually are in the best timeline.
You don't want to know what happens in the others.
Well, now that the US has a ceasefire with Iran, took out Venezuela's leader, and Cuba's
regime is crumbling as we speak, who's next on Trump's hit list?
Well, according to a report from the free press, that could be the Vatican.
Holy crap!
Emphasis on holy.
What exactly is this all about?
The short of it is, the free press said there was this big fight between the Trump administration
and representatives of the Pope in a closed-door meeting.
How did they know what was said in a closed-door meeting?
They didn't.
According to the US Embassy to the Holy See, the Pope's representatives denied the media's
portrayal, and the reporting does not reflect what happened and was just invented to make
a story.
Which is ridiculous.
When have journalists ever done that?
Ever!
