He left the home forest
the mountain the steep
To walk through the shadows
and secrets so deep

where the cold winds howl
Past the caves of the tiger
and the night-hunting owl

Then he reached the world’s
edge a vast ocean blue
With no bridge to cross
and no path in his view

He gathered the branches
to build a small raft
With vines and with wood
a simple brave craft

The waves began to crash
with a thunderous sound
And the cold rain did soak him
with no land to be found

He had to grip tightly
as the raft tossed and turned
For the safety of land was
the only thing he yearned

After days on the water
both hungry and lone
He finally stepped on the solid gray stone

He walked among humans
and learned how they speak
But they had not the answers
that he came to seek

Till he met a wise woodcutter
simple and kind
Who told him a mountain
that's not easy to find

Go to the Heart Mountain
the woodcutter said
Where the secrets of heaven
and earth are all spread

shone with hope and with fire

was his only desire

He reached the high cave
where the silence was deep
Where the mysteries of ages
were waiting to sleep
