Seemingly inconsequential choices in our daily lives turn into patterns, habits, and eventually lifestyle decisions. No matter how trivial a decision may seem, it sets the pattern for your future actions. From a physical standpoint, choosing processed food for convenience, ease, and speed can easily become a dangerous habit for our health and that of our families over time because of the additives. It’s just as important to have a balanced social diet, prioritizing real-world interactions over screentime.

78% of the American food supply is ultra-processed foods, which are full of preservatives, artificial flavors, colors, emulsifiers, and other additives to chemically alter the taste, consistency, appearance, and shelf-life of products. Customers’ choice of processed foods goes beyond preference; it’s an addiction because these “hyper-satisfying” foods include an excessive concentration of salt, sugar, and fats which are unnaturally appealing. Equally harmful for young people's development is choices made regarding entertainment, pastimes, and screentime. Just as junk food can leave you unnourished after over-saturation, excessive “social” interaction online can leave you feeling spiritually drained. Starting the day with a positive ritual can begin a healthier pattern of making good choices.
