At the end of a long trip, I always like to kick back and get pampered a bit, and when you’re in the Middle East or South Asia, that means getting a haircut and massage! Come with me as I get a Pakistani haircut in Muscat, Oman!
I love getting Pakistani- and Indian-style haircuts when I travel. They’re so relaxing and the perfect way to unwind. My barber Fahim was going to give me a haircut, a shave, a massage, and a facial. I was joined by my friends and guided Ahmed and Ahmed from Oman Travel.
Fahim is from Pakistan and has been a barber for 20 years. I wanted to look younger for my shawarma tour later. Fahim added some gel to my beard and then torched a razor, which he used to line me up.
While he cleaned me up, we chatted about our favorite Pakistani dishes. He loves lassi, and I’m a huge fan of nihari, chapli kebabs, and haleem. We also talked about how amazing the Omani people are. I loved his shaving skills.
Then, he took electric clippers to shave a bit more off and to fade my sideburns. It was really unique and different.
Then, he sprayed my head with water and added some gel before using the razor to shave off the hair that had grown in the past four days. It felt so good and relaxing.
Next, we did something I’d never done before. He added some wax to my ears and som e more to my nose to take off the blackheads. Then, he took them off after one minute. My skin felt as soft and smooth as a baby’s.
Then, Fahim added some face wash to my head, face, and neck. Him rubbing it in on my forehead felt amazing. Then, hw cleaned it off with a towel and applied a mud mask. While it sent, he started on the head massage. It felt so good on the top of my head and back of my neck.
He even massaged inside my ears and got my back. Then, we went over to a sink to rinse off the mask and washed off my face with soap and water. Finally, he dried me off and massaged my eyebrows, ears, and temples. He did such an incredible job with everything!

As-salamu alaykum everyone. I hope you're all doing well. This is David Hoffman from David's Bin here coming at you from beautiful Muscat, Oman.
Today I'm going to do something really special. I'm getting a Pakistani haircut in Oman. Yes.
I love doing this. I've done it in Pakistan, I've done it in India, I've done it in Lebanon.
I've done it, the first day I got here I did it as well, but now I'm going to do something awesome.
This guy right here, Fahim, my man. Thank you so much.
He's going to do everything, right? Shave my head, shave my beard, give me a massage, a facial as well.
I mean, if you want a facial.
My man, Ahmed, and?
My food.
My food, my food. First time with you.
Yeah, man. Pleasure.
So he's opening up the shop for us today. It is 9.30 in the morning. He's actually renting this spot. He's opening a new spot, right?
Let's go inside. Let's see it.
Pakistan.
Zindabad.
Oh, it's the best. I'm extremely tired. I got in at 2 in the morning last night from Salalah and I'm ready for a haircut.
I need to shave this head, this beard, massage.
Very excited.
It's going to be a good morning.
Last day in Muscat. 10 days complete. Love this country. Thank you so much, dude.
So are all the barbers in Muscat from Pakistan? Most of them, right?
You get, yeah, from Pakistan.
Yeah, from Turkey.
From Turkey as well?
Yeah, Lebanon.
Full shave. Oh, everything, man. You make me look young.
I'm getting a little bit of rosacea right now. Too much sun, you know? Too much sun.
So how many years have you been a barber? How many years?
15 years? And has he been here for 15 years?
You know, for me, the best thing about the massage, I fall asleep, man.
Me too.
So you're opening up a new shop soon?
Oh, in the Amarat area?
Dude, I'm excited for the shawarma tour.
We're going to four places today. Four shawarma spots.
And let me ask you, those four spots, the best, right? The best in Muscat?
So you're just putting some gel, huh?
Yeah.
Oh wow, what are you doing there? What's happening?
He's scorching the razor.
He had alcohol and he just nuked it.
I love getting this straight clean. You get it a lot or no?
So is he going to give me an Omani beard?
Oh, he's going to shape it up, huh?
So basically just clean it up.
To be honest, this beard is very short right now, you know?
It's not as long as it, I usually have it.
That feels great.
I was even thinking of doing laser on the bottom there and the top.
Doing laser.
Just like that, huh?
Looks good. Nice and clean.
That feels so good right there.
So I'm not going to get a full shave.
I'm doing an Omani beard.
I really enjoy doing these videos for you guys.
The Echo ones, I feel like I should do this like every week even though I don't have hair anymore.
I look sharp, right?
Oh, looks so clean.
So my friend here is from Multan, right?
Yeah, in Multan city.
My village is Zila Rehmer Khan.
Zila Rehmer Khan.
Okay.
I'm from Srekhi.
So what's your favorite Pakistani dish? Nihari?
No.
What's your favorite?
My blood is Lassi.
Oh, Lassi.
Makhan.
The Makhan, okay.
For me it's Chapli Kebab.
My favorite two dishes in all of Pakistan.
Chapli Kebab and Nihari.
Nihari for the win.
We have Karachi.
Yeah, Karachi is so good.
I had two delicious Niharis in Karachi.
With some chili.
Nice beef.
Oh, Haleem.
Haleem is so good.
Sindhi Biryani.
Tasty, very tasty.
Oh, tasty.
Food in Pakistan is unreal.
If you're a meat eater, Pakistan is the king.
In Gurjanwala, I had lots of meat.
They have so many good kebabs.
Man is beautiful, no?
Man is beautiful.
People are very nice.
People are the nicest.
We have Mahfuz.
We have Mohammed.
They're super nice guys.
We're talking about you guys.
What us?
How amazing the Omani people are.
Thank you so much.
Peace.
This is only 10 day beard.
This guy has skills.
In Pakistan, everybody has TikTok.
It's crazy.
There was a few parks I went to.
You see all the kids doing TikToks.
They're doing all the trending stuff.
Nice.
I like this.
Feels great.
We're doing Shua later?
Shua experience?
A single lamb.
Mixing it with all the Omani spices.
Covering it with banana leaves.
Dumping it underground for a day.
You're going to have it as soft as possible.
Delicious, man.
This is the most famous dish in Oman, right?
Number one dish here in Oman.
Everyone has to have it.
If you come and visit, you're going to have Shua.
I tried it on the first day in Rozna.
We're going there today.
We're going to see the experience.
They're going to put it in the ground.
They're going to have one from yesterday ready for us to eat.
I like this look.
This is cool.
I look awesome, man.
It went deep in here.
Little excess hairs.
Makes a lot of difference, though.
Amazing.
A little trim.
He's going to trim this into here, right?
He's going to fade it up.
Wild head, man.
Let's do it again.
This is 10 days.
This is more like 4 days.
Beer Omani.
Omani is name.
In English, it's slow.
It's like a beard fade.
It cleans it up, and then it fades it up.
I like it.
It's different.
Omani style, huh?
Feels good.
That sounds so nice.
It's like white noise.
Scissor white noise.
What do you think? Good?
I think it's good.
You?
You think it's good, my friend?
This country is the gem of Arabia.
The gem.
Why? The people.
Next, shave.
Let's do the head.
I shaved
It's a little long.
Actually, 3 days.
Don't stop touching me.
It feels so good.
I'm sorry, but
on the scalp like that,
that's what I like about being bald.
I put some gel on top.
You've been a barber for 28 years.
That's amazing. 28 years.
My age is
33.
My job
is here
5 years.
Also, I'm a barber
in
in Pakistan.
In Pakistan, 15 years.
15 years.
5 years plus 15, so 20 years.
20 years. Okay, got it.
You know how long I've been doing these videos?
I've been doing these videos more than a decade.
It's the journey.
Nice shave.
Easy shave, no?
Yeah.
Feels so good.
Right there feels good.
Oh, the area behind
the ear feels awesome.
So what do you guys think? Better the baldness,
right? I embraced it.
I accept it.
I love it.
It feels so good.
So, so good.
10 minutes of sure bliss
right here.
Feeling that razor against your skin.
Good? My friend, what's next?
Massage? Or facial?
Or what? What do you want to do?
Wax.
Wax?
In the ears? Yeah.
Oh, in the ears? Okay, good.
Oh my gosh. I've never had this experience
before. My whole ear is black.
Checking all the hair, huh?
Yeah. Oh my gosh.
This is
crazy. It's the first time for me.
I felt like
a hair pop.
Oh, it gets hard. This is insane.
You're too much, dude. You're too much.
Oh my gosh, look how hot that is.
It's like scorching wax.
It's going to be good.
I've been trimming those hairs for years. Now
somebody's going to actually remove them.
Oh.
That's hot, dude.
Oh.
So all the hair, huh?
It's definitely going to hurt
when you remove it.
Blackheads.
You're removing the blackheads with this?
How many minutes do we wait?
Wait, wait, wait. One minute.
One minute? So my ears.
Oh, my nose.
Taking off the blackheads.
Hurts so bad, but it definitely
stings a little bit.
Oh.
Wow.
Look at all the hair, guys. All the hair.
Oh. Oh my gosh.
Oh.
Look at all the hair.
Dude, it feels great. It feels like
a baby's skin.
Oh.
Beautiful.
Dude, it's amazing.
Just going to pull some out.
Alright, guys.
That's all wax. Just threw too much
wax in there. All blackheads.
So fresh and so
clean, clean.
This feels too good. Oh my gosh.
Feels like
so soft.
Nothing on it. No blackheads, right?
Just cleaning me up. Making me perfect.
Perfect for the day. For that
shawarma tour. So he just
sprayed me. Cleaning
me up. Oh.
Everything's so good.
I feel like a brand new person right now.
I'm also really tired.
So face wash now?
No.
My ears feel like tingling right now.
Oh, feels good.
Oh, this is nice.
Smells
great.
After that, my nose needs to be
clean.
I feel like a snowman.
Right?
The abominable snowman.
Ah, feels great.
This guy is too much. And this is not even
a massage yet. Feels good though.
This is just the
best.
Going to throw some more on.
Two layers on the forehead.
Feels so nice.
Love the pressure he's applying.
Oh, especially the nose right there.
The nose. The nose is a delicate
spot, you know?
Oh, I need
some karak.
Oh, I love karak.
Of course.
Karak or coffee.
And then we're doing shawarma.
Tonight I'm flying back to Miami.
I have to be at the airport at 2.30.
Well, I'd say 3.30 really.
5.20 is my flight.
Then I land at Qatar
at 6 something. And then right after that
flight to Miami, 8am.
That's a long
flight, bro.
It's a 16 hour flight.
16 hours.
I know it's long, but
I got my two kids and I have to go home.
Oh.
It's like
oh. It's getting
to the throat, bro. Feels nice.
What I love about these massages is they literally put
you at ease. If I wasn't filming, I would have been asleep
half an hour ago.
Oh, he has a great massage?
Yeah.
Oh.
Fahim,
I take it to Miami, dude.
I set up your barbershop in Miami.
You know how much we're charging Miami for this?
We're charging $100 for the ultimate
Pakistani massage, man.
In Miami, you know what a hair
can cost in Miami?
$25 is just
the haircut. If you want a
beard trim, probably $10 more. If you want a massage,
$20, $30 more.
$100. And that's cheap.
It's not cheap, you know? Hot towel.
Hot towel? Yeah.
Is it going to clean me up with a hot towel?
Oh.
No, it's not hot.
That's it.
You got to just clean it.
Mm-hmm.
Do I feel refreshed and I haven't gotten
to the massage? Yeah.
I've been going hard. Like, I've barely
been sleeping these days. That's how dirty
I was, huh? Yeah.
My gosh.
Alright.
It's a lot of the sand, though. A lot of the sand.
And, dude, I've tried
to clean it in the shower, like scrubbing.
I don't know how
many layers are there, actually.
No, but he cleaned it, and I was doing it again.
I think he uses, like, different creams.
Yeah, yeah. Different types.
Like, um...
So, it makes his skin softer
or something? Maybe.
Yeah, I mean... After using that,
after using the scrub,
maybe this is, like, the
normal wash.
Yeah, I think the first one was to
clean off everything. Yeah.
And this one is the real, like,
facial cleanser, right? And then
he also, um, this is a different one
because I can smell the difference here.
Yeah, yeah, actually. Exactly.
Ooh.
This one, this one, like, burns
a little bit. Yeah.
It's, um,
a whitening mud mask.
It's a mud mask, huh?
Yeah.
Alright, here we go. Head massage?
Yeah.
Oh.
You are amazing.
Can I keep you?
Dude, he's, like, dancing on my head
with his hands. Ooh.
Tickle it, too.
Ooh.
It's like he uses his nails, but
softly, like, lightly.
He doesn't really scratch you, it just tickles
you.
Oh, dude, I'm, like, going to sleep right here.
Oh, and the back of the neck.
Oh,
nice pressure right there. Ooh, right
by the spinal cord?
What the heck?
Dude, I've had
a lot of haircuts like this, but
never this feeling.
Because he's applying so much pressure
and it feels...
You have no idea
the feeling right now.
Oh.
His nails, man.
Guys, you have no idea this feeling.
Oh.
I can't even hear anything right now. He just put his
fingers in my ear and it's vibrating.
Oh, he's getting to the back now?
Rip that off.
Take off my shirt. No, I'm joking.
Like the kit? I'm wearing Liverpool,
dude. They just won.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, my
gosh.
That's it?
This mud mask has been on for, like, 15
minutes, right?
Ready?
Cleaner? Okay.
So I'll just put my face in.
Just like this.
Okay.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, my god.
It's so cold.
The water's freezing.
Also, like, the mask,
it was starting to, like,
you know, it obviously itches.
It's cleaning everything off.
But then he adds the water
and it just feels so good.
Oh.
Oh, that's warm.
This guy's too much.
So I guess we'll talk about the prices
after.
What does it actually cost?
Let's go see.
Standard charter
for the investment of a lifetime.
The commercial standard charter, you know?
I always see it on the planes.
I know, right?
This guy did an incredible job between
the beard, the head,
oh, the ears.
Oh, it feels so good. They're clean.
Eyebrows.
Dude, that's crazy.
Man, watching you, like, doing this
is so crazy. Like, imagine
if I'm doing that.
Dude, if I was in Moscow,
I'd do this, like, once a week.
Really? I mean,
I don't know, dude.
What, every other day?
that's a temple.
I can't hear anything.
Alright.
You have the Naiman.
You have the nice day.
Nice day? Yeah.
Ich liebe dich.
It means
I love you in German, dude.
Wow, guys, that was
the ultimate Pakistani
haircut in Moscow, Oman.
We did a
full shave. We did
the Omani beard.
Facial.
We waxed my ears, my nose.
Cleanser.
I mean, amazing. Dude,
your barber is the best.
My man, right here, right here. Thank you so
much. Man over here, come, come, come.
Dude, thank you so much.
Thank you for introducing me to him.
He's awesome. Contact him when you come to Moscow.
He'll do the same for you. Guys, if you love this
