【古琴Guqin】民國覺醒青年版《蘭花草》芝蘭之室，悠然自得 A composition adapted from a poem——The Orchid

“Orchid Grass” (蘭花草) was originally a poem written by Hu Shi, titled “Hope” (希望). After receiving a pot of orchids from a friend, Hu Shi eagerly checked on it several times a day, yet the flowers had not bloomed. Inspired by this feeling, he wrote this fresh and simple poem.

Later, musicians Chen Xiande and Zhang Bi revised the poem and set it to music, renaming it “Orchid Grass.” Its melody is catchy and easy to sing, which helped it spread widely.
