Seal's Face Swollen from Bad Fishing Line Entanglement

The terrible wound on this animal visualises the gruesome reality of entanglements. The seal is in a lot of pain as the rescuers remove a few loops of fishing line from her neck. Without help, she would not have had much time left. Her face was swollen up, and she would not have been able to breathe or eat much longer. The rescuers struggle to find all pieces of the entanglement. Some loops are very overgrown and deeply embedded in her flesh. The extra fluids in her head can hopefully drain now, and we will keep an eye out for her on the beach to monitor her recovery. 🦭
