Hey, welcome to Online For Love, your resource for online dating by the numbers.
I'm Amy, your certified online dating expert, and today I'm going to be comparing two of the
oldest and most popular dating sites, Match.com versus eHarmony. I'm going to compare five
crucial aspects of these dating giants and reveal my choice for the better one.
Are you sure that these are even the sites that you should be thinking about?
If you haven't already taken the Online For Love dating quiz to find your perfect dating app,
then what are you doing here? Take the quiz, see which dating app is perfect for you,
and then come back and watch the rest of this video. Link in the description. We're popping up
now. Let's get into the five important aspects of these two sites that need to be compared.
Ease of access, success rate, unique features, the signup process, and the cost of each service.
I would love it if you could please thumbs up this video and definitely hit subscribe and ring
the bell to see more content from Online For Love. The first of five aspects I'm going to cover when
comes to comparing Match and eHarmony. We're going to talk about how easy it is, or not easy,
to use them. The great news is that Match and eHarmony both have excellent user-friendly
interfaces on both web and apps. It's easy to access Match and eHarmony from any device that
you own and they're really smooth on no matter what device you choose to use. eHarmony is actually
beautifully designed and it's more minimalistic than Match, which actually makes it easier to
use, especially for those who are new to the online dating world. After you set up and create
your profile, basically it's hands-off and letting the app do everything for you. You do have plenty
of search options on eHarmony, but the main draw to the platform is its innovative matching
technology that doesn't require you to do any of that extra work. The focus of eHarmony is more on
your matches and your messages rather than further customization. Basically, eHarmony doesn't mess
around when it comes to finding you your perfect match. They pretty much know what you want and
they're going to try their best to give it to you. Match is also a very easily understandable
and user-friendly app and website. The app looks great and anything you need is clearly labeled and
easy to find. There are more options when it comes to Match's design on its app or website, but that
doesn't necessarily mean that it's always harder for people to learn. Match has taken the abundance
of options and laid them out in an organized way for any user to understand easily. And yeah,
abundance of choice is definitely the phrase to use when it comes to talking about Match's
interface. All of the perks of your membership are laid out as well as so many possible
customizations when it comes to your search criteria. Unlike eHarmony, which does most of
its matchmaking work with the extensive questionnaires, Match relies heavily on its
customization tools. eHarmony is better if you just want to find the one you're looking for
right away, but if you want to fool around and search for a million different types of people,
then Match, I guess, would be better. Although, I guess if you're paying for membership for either
of these sites, you're probably not looking to fool around, so I would still give the edge to
eHarmony. If you want even more information about what I'm talking about in this video,
there is a link in the description below and maybe popping up here now. It's actually this
video in article form, but there's so much more information there. You get crafts, more in-depth
information, and all up-to-date numbers and news, all free, and it gives you way more insight than
I'm giving you right now. It doesn't matter how popular any site is if there's no success story,
so who has the better one? Without a question, Match.com and eHarmony are both two of the most
popular dating websites in the whole world. Both dating platforms have over 15 million users
and have members in different countries. Match does have a slight edge on this though because
of the abundance of countries they offer their website in and the abundance of languages they
offer it in too. eHarmony is proud to share that they are responsible for over 438 marriages
every single day in the U.S. Put another way, eHarmony claims to be responsible for 4%
of all of the marriages in the United States. Now, the type of matches that you get in eHarmony are
really catered to your specific needs and preferences. This is because of eHarmony's
famous unique matching system. The matches that you get in eHarmony are fewer, but they're more
likely to be more compatible with you. Unlike eHarmony, Match does not give out specific figures,
numbers, percentages when it comes to the amount of matches or marriages or successes that they
have. They do state, however, that they have inspired twice as many marriages as the next
leading online dating site. With the abundance of success stories about Match.com all over the
internet and the fact that it is the oldest dating website in the world, it's not an unbelievable
claim. Approximately 38% of the members of Match.com state that the way that they find their matches
on the site is through the search options that they have and the ways that they can customize
their ideal type. This is because eHarmony pretty much sends you your most compatible matches,
where on Match, you really do have to utilize those search preferences in order to find
your most compatible match. It's difficult to declare an absolute winner when it comes to
the better success rate between Match and eHarmony, since Match doesn't give out all the details and
specific percentages and everything of the successes that eHarmony does. So for this one,
it's just going to have to be a tie. Now, let's compare the unique features of eHarmony versus
Match.com. Starting with eHarmony, probably the best and most special and unique feature that
eHarmony offers is its extensive personality analysis and matching system. eHarmony helps
their users find their perfect match through their advanced algorithm that utilizes 29 dimensions of
compatibility. Did you even know there were 29 dimensions of compatibility? Because I didn't.
This results in a long list of likes, dislikes, traits, personality types that will help you find
and connect with similar people. They decide which matches show up for you based off of your personality
profile. They're basically saying that they know what you want, and usually they're right. So Match
is different than eHarmony in the way that you are really the one pulling the reins. Match allows for
more options when it comes to search specifics, and depending on your membership, you can even
Match also boasts a wealth of special features like you can even call a dating coach like on
the phone to give you personalized tips, and you can have your profile reviewed by a Match.com
expert. They even have specialized videos on the app that you can watch helping you deal with all
sorts of aspects of online dating. Basically, features is Match.com's middle name. But is that
necessarily a good thing? Maybe the reason why eHarmony can easily boast about its success rate
is that it eliminates the endless options and overthinking that are prevalent on most dating
apps. Well, whether or not it's better for your overall love life in the long term, Match.com
definitely has way more features than eHarmony. Speaking of options and special features,
make sure to go to Online For Love's website to check out all sorts of free online guides to all
sorts of dating tips. You can learn about long-distance relationship dating, what it's like
to date people of different nationalities. You can take your online dating profile quiz.
There's so much online dating information and goodness, and especially specific things about
dating websites like Match and eHarmony, so don't forget to check out Online For Love.
Click the link in the description. You will not regret checking out the website. Match.com and
eHarmony have some similarities when it comes to their signup processes, but also some differences.
The good news is that both sites are LGBTQ friendly, although Match has been for longer
than eHarmony. You can search for same or opposite sex partners on each of the apps.
On both websites, you can customize your profile and change your search settings,
although Match does have more search settings to choose from.
Let's start by talking about eHarmony's signup process. Before you can even sign up to pay for
a membership or anything or get your profile filled out on eHarmony, you have to go through
quite a long questionnaire all about your personality, likes, dislikes, traits, what
you're looking for in a partner, and even some kind of abstract questions. It could easily take
up to an hour to sign up for eHarmony, and this is before you even have to decide
which membership tier you're going to join, if you're going to join a membership at all,
and it's before setting up your profile, your photos, all that. eHarmony definitely has the
longer signup process, but once you get through it and you've got all the questions filled out
and your profile ready and your membership picked out, it's actually less work for you
in the long term because you've done all of it right there at the beginning. Match isn't that
far off, it also has its own questionnaire, and plus you still have to figure out which tier of
membership you want, which you have double the amount to think about, and all this little stuff,
so it's actually a tie for the amount of time and, I guess, difficulty of the signup. Finally,
let's talk about one of the most important things when it comes to deciding which dating app you are
going to get, which is the cost of memberships. So both Match and eHarmony can be used for free,
but mostly what you're going to want to do is pay for memberships for both of these websites
because otherwise you severely inhibit your online dating experience, and it's honestly
pretty difficult to find success on either of the sites without paying. I actually had this opinion
that if there's a paywall and people are willing to get past that, they're serious about love
because they're investing in their love life, and that the prices I'm about to mention are accurate
only at the time of filming this. If you want to make sure that you know the most up-to-date
information and the most up-to-date numbers how much it costs for either of these sites at any
given time, definitely check out the link in the description. We have this eHarmony versus Match
comparison in article form, and in the article in Online for Love, it's always being updated with
the current numbers and prices. Link in the description or above me right now. Match actually
offers more choices of premium plans than eHarmony does. They offer three standard plans and three
premium plans. Standard plans go like this. You can pay for three months of their standard plan
for $21.99 per month, or you could pay for six months of their standard plan at $18.99 per month,
or finally you could pay for 12 months of their standard plan for $17.99 per month. Their premium
plans are of course a little bit pricier, with their most expensive being three months of premium
for $24.99 per month, then their most popular plan which is six months of premium for $21.99
a month, then their best deal of all which is 12 months of premium at $18.99 per month. So not cheap.
As for eHarmony, there are less choices for your plans. You can choose between three premium plans.
Their premium light plan lasts for six months at $17.90 a month. Their premium plus plan lasts
for 12 months at $11.90 a month, or you could get their premium extra plan which lasts the longest
at 24 months for $7.90 a month. If you're in this for the long haul, then eHarmony definitely has
the better pricing. However, if you don't want to commit to something so long term, Match might
actually be the better option for you because you can pay for just a three month membership.
Comparing the six and 12 months options though, it's very clear to see that Match.com is definitely
more expensive. Basically, the cheapest subscription price per month for Match.com
is $17.99, while the cheapest membership price for eHarmony is $7.90, so quite a difference.
So clearly, eHarmony definitely wins this round as the cheaper of the two dating options. By the way,
if you want to become a member on either of these sites for any tier, definitely click our link in
the description to get up to 25% off and save yourself some money. So now time for the final
verdict. Well, eHarmony has the better user interface. Both Match and eHarmony probably
have the both same high level of success rate, although eHarmony is the only one that freely
gives out that information. Match has more unique features and it also has a quicker sign-in time,
although eHarmony arguably has the more efficient sign-up process for the long term. And Match is
definitely more expensive than eHarmony. So time for the final verdict. Which site do I prefer?
eHarmony. If you're done playing games and you seriously are ready to settle down and you're
just ready for eHarmony to give you your love on a silver platter, then it really is the website for
you. It's efficient and to the point and it works. But that's just me. What do you think? Have you
tried either of these websites? Is eHarmony actually just dated? Is Match worth the price?
Which is better? Please let me know your opinion in the comments and let's debate about it. Thank
you so much for watching my Match.com vs eHarmony comparison and review. Please give this video a
