Starter tutorial using the Gibson G-Force tuning system. More videos will be coming explaining the features of this tuning system including, stringing your guitar, calibrating the system, using alternate tunings, creating your own tuning and storing for your future use. Lots more coming.
Hi welcome to a new series of videos. I'm going to try to take the mystery out of the G-Force
that Gibson uses on their guitars since I recently got one. And now I see that there's not a whole
lot of videos out there and there is a whole lot of people getting mad at these systems.
So I'm just going to go step by step through the manual and just learn how to do things and then
make videos on it and hopefully help you all out a little bit along the way. So basically when you
first get your guitar you want to make sure you have the strings on it you're going to play on
and make sure that you have them all stretched out completely. And then I'll show another video
on how to restring this system but for right now I'm just going to show you the real basic
how you tune it. You got two options for tuning on the G-Force. You can just push your button
it's going to flash green and then go to all red letters for your strings
giving you your battery status and you want to make sure your battery is charged and you have a
green menu indicator here. So next you can just strum your strings and it will go through and
tune all of your strings simultaneously all at the same time. Now as you can see it's kind of
stuck on the B string. Now this is not uncommon because it has to decipher all six strings. So
if you just mute your strings and then hit the B string it will make its correction flash and
shut off when it's finished and your guitar is in tune. Okay the other option you have is to turn
it on. Now my guitar is tuned so you have to kind of play along here. Pick each string individually
and mute in between strings. So when you go one string at a time it's going to be more accurate
and flash when you're done of course. So you have two options here you can strum all your strings
one or two times and then pick up the loose strings that it didn't quite catch or you can
just do one string at a time right from the beginning and I don't find any inaccuracies in
the tuning. As far as I can tell so far it's done a pretty good job but I did have to make sure my
strings are stretched out and that you have to calibrate this system to the strings that you're
going to use. So mine shipped with 9s on it but I play on 10s so I had to learn to reinstall the
strings. How do you how can you turn the tuners when you're not supposed to be operating these
when they're on? So how do you get the strings off? So I had to learn how to get all that stuff done
and then learn how to calibrate the system. So I'm moving along and I'm going to try to release
a video every now and then on the things I learned to take the mystery out of the G-Force because I
think it could be a useful tool. It is extremely capable. You can find the manual online and
download it and you'll really see how capable this thing is. So until the next video hope that was helpful.
