The Ultimate German Chocolate Cookie Recipe 🍪 Chewy & Gooey
Get ready to bake the most decadent cookies you've ever had! Today on Snow Dogs Cooking, we're taking on a classic dessert and turning it into a cookie. We're making German Chocolate Cookies completely from scratch, complete with a rich, chewy chocolate cookie base, that iconic gooey coconut-pecan frosting, and a final chocolate drizzle.
This was my first time ever attempting this recipe, and I made them for Jamie's and my mom's birthdays since they both love German Chocolate Cake. So if you're watching this, it means they were a huge success! Join me and the furry kitchen helpers as we prove that even with a more complex recipe, if I can cook it, so can you.
Find out if these cookies taste just like the cake and get ready to bake a batch that will disappear in minutes. These are perfect for special occasions, holidays, or just when you're craving something truly amazing!

⭐ Recipe Tips & Notes: ⭐
💡 Sifting Hack: If you don't have a sifter, a fine-mesh wire strainer works perfectly for sifting your dry ingredients together.
💡 Room Temp Butter: Make sure your butter for the cookies is softened to room temperature so it creams properly with the sugars.
💡 Don't Overmix: Once you add the dry ingredients, mix on low until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula to keep the cookies tender.
💡 Frosting Consistency: The frosting will thicken as it cools. To get the perfect spreading consistency, let it cool to room temperature and then chill it in the fridge for about 10 minutes.
💡 Storage: These are not stackable cookies! Store them in a single layer in an airtight container.
