大武崙砲台為基隆市定古蹟，規模宏大且保存完整。入口及步道旁盛開大片大花曼陀羅（Angel’s Trumpets），景色醒目。砲台主要分為營房區、砲盤區與稜堡外垣三部分，其中山壁鑿建的洞窟式營舍具良好防禦功能，現僅存石牆與拱形門窗。砲盤區設於西北與西南方，各配置火砲；稜堡外垣則由馬道與子牆構成，環繞全區，展現砲兵與步兵協同防禦海陸威脅的軍事設計。

大花曼陀羅全株具毒，尤以果實與種子毒性最強，含東莨菪鹼與莨菪鹼等成分。誤食可能導致口乾、心跳加快、頭暈，甚至出現幻覺與意識混亂等症狀，須特別注意。

Dawulun Fort, a designated historic site in Keelung, is well preserved and impressive in scale. Along the entrance and trails, large clusters of Angel’s Trumpets are in bloom, adding striking beauty to the site. The fort is mainly composed of the barracks, artillery positions, and the bastion walls. The cave-like barracks carved into the hillside were designed for protection, though today only stone walls and arched doorways remain. The artillery areas are located in the northwest and southwest, while the surrounding bastion walls reflect a defense system against both sea and land attacks.

Angel’s Trumpets are highly toxic, especially their fruits and seeds, containing compounds such as scopolamine and hyoscyamine. Ingestion may cause symptoms including dry mouth, rapid heartbeat, dizziness, hallucinations, and confusion.
