For our last day in Bangkok, Thailand 🇹🇭, we visited two of the city’s most iconic and must-see temples — Wat Arun and Wat Pho.
We started the day at Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), known for its beautiful riverside location and detailed architecture. Walking around the temple and seeing it up close was something we had been looking forward to, and it definitely lived up to it.
After that, we headed to Wat Pho, home of the famous Reclining Buddha. Seeing the scale of the statue in person was incredible, and the whole temple complex had a very different feel compared to Wat Arun.
This day gave us a deeper appreciation of Bangkok’s cultural and historical side, and it was a great way to experience some of the city’s most well-known landmarks.

Today is our final full day in Bangkok Thailand and to
cap it off we visit two of the most iconic temples here
Wat Arun and Wat Pho
Stay tuned to find out what you should do and bring before visiting these sites
So from our hotel we booked a ride using Bolt which
is one of the ride-hailing apps here in Thailand
Based on our experience Bolt is highly recommended—it's definitely worth it
Now the entrance fee here at Wat Arun is 200 baht person
Open from 8 AM to 6 PM
And as you can see Sel’s costume
is homemade since
there’s a costume rental shop outside the temple Then from there went around wandering
Also you can hire a photographer to take your pictures
They know the best spots and they’ll be the ones guiding you
So our photoshoot here at Wat Arun is done right
Yeah actually it was just one hour
If you're not yet satisfied you can request an additional 5 minutes
So those are our tips for shooting photos here at Wat Arun right
So number one is you can come early while
the sun isn't shining yet That's really the best right
So maybe the lesson here is that we came here before lunch you
know That gives us plenty of time to get dressed that's how it is
So when we got here to Wat Arun itself it was already quite hot the sun was glaring
And sometimes that can affect the shots right
Sometimes we squint like that Yeah it
can mess with your shot and your mood too
When it's hot it's easier to move around and the area you can cover is much larger
So that's tip number one
Second tip is to bring a tote bag
Bring slippers with you — the kind
you can easily slip
on Guys it's huge
So if you're wearing heels your rented sandals are tiny even if they're just a little small
His foot still hurts especially if you're not used to it
It's a very long distance to cover
And then at the entrance water bottles will be provided
So instead just toss it in your tote bag
And then your wallet your cellphone—leave them in the small handbag we'll give you
Third tip is to ask your photographer where your best
angle is because they know the ideal spots around here
They know the etiquette—whether to use an umbrella or not is up to you
But you know your angle best
So you’ll tell your photographer
Fourth tip make sure you eat when you
get here because you might get tired
It depends on the
weather but right
now it's hot so you might get tired
Just keep your mood balanced okay
And don’t be grumpy while getting your photos taken or wandering around Wat Arun
Make sure your container is completely full Because
it's difficult otherwise
Fifth tip is to be respectful
You can hear it too there's announcement
What they can and cannot do at their temples here
If you're hiring photographers and have
a budget they truly know what's possible
But only with friends or family DIY style
Make sure you listen to the announcement
Or you research first figure out what poses and outfits are possible what you can wear
So guys it's currently 146
And we still have an hour left to enjoy our rented costumes
So we'll just finish our drink and then we'll take a little walk around Wat Arun
And then you know
After that we'll head back
And then we're going to Wat Pho too
Alright we'll finish our drink first then catch up with you later
The full name of Wat Arun is Wat Arun Ratchawararam
So that means Temple of Dawn
Yeah he’s actually been here for over
300 years It's been here for a while
And you know it's one of the most
iconic temples and landmarks right here in Bangkok And throughout Thailand
When you say Thailand these are the landmarks that immediately come to mind
Our observation here is that there are truly a lot of people
There were many tourists many locals too
We saw some people filtering in here students
The main thing I've noticed differentiating Asians from Europeans is that we'
re just way more into selfies Europeans
on the other hand are all about touring
While Asians take lots of photos and many selfies
so Yun different culture different preferences indeed
So let's explore other temples and learn more about their culture
The heels are quite high so you really should
bring slippers if you're not used to wearing heels
Also there are signs here that you must absolutely
not touch step on or sit on the relics here
So at the car park along the side of the main building you also have a great view
So if you're looking for views you got it
There aren't too many
people here You lack the
competence Anyway we're heading to the pier
We headed straight to Wat Pho specifically to see the Reclining Buddha
If you're coming from Wat Arun to Wat Pho don't worry
The ferry crossing the Chao Phraya River is also located inside Wat Arun
And every now and then you'll be crossing on a small ferry
It's only 5 baht person
Just wait a moment and then less than
five minutes later you'll be at Wat Arun
Just take it literally
Just walk 10 minutes and you'll be at Wat Pho
The entrance fee here is 300 baht person And remember to
bring cash since that's the only payment method they accept
Hey guys we're at Wat Pho Temple now It'
s the second temple we're visiting today
The key difference is that NASA sees
all the spires all the buildings visible
So if you're tired from climbing at Wat Arun
don't worry here—
everything's at ground level
He has a broad face Also the
entrance fee is 300 baht person
So when you convert it to pesos it's somewhat expensive
That's why you should plan to spend at least 2 to 3 hours here
That's our recommendation for Wat Arun—2 to 3 hours
I still have to factor in the
commute Bangkok can get pretty
congested especially if you're stuck in rush hour traffic
So spend at least 3 hours per
temple If that's not possible then
at least 2 hours Because you really need to get around properly
And you know what's inside here
Also Wat Pho is open until 7:30 PM as well
You can choose your preferred time—early morning or late afternoon
Alright so that's it guys
Let's explore Wat Pho first
And we couldn't miss the legendary Reclining Buddha
Alright so before you enter
the Reclining Buddha you must
remove your shoes No shoes
are allowed—it's sacred ground
Let's put it inside
Take it with you
That’s the highlight of the day The
Reclining Buddha which is genuinely crowded with tourists every
single day Here are a few fun facts
This is the Itong Reclining
Buddha It was built in
1832 CE and represents the Buddha entering nirvana
46 meters in length and as you
can see it's gold-plated We'
re here at the Reclining Buddha
The reason it's lying this way
That's when he went to sleep you know The information we read
said he was in a spiritual rest before
becoming a mentor to enlightenment
So of course in Buddhism their religion
that's their belief
But these beliefs vary
Different religions
So when you enter here just be respectful
and keep quiet
That's why we're speaking softly now
So just roam around here freely
From the ceiling from the walls
Details of their way of praying
and traditions and cultures
There's a rich history behind this statue
and you can also see it reflected in the
murals around here So it's quite the experience to finally see this famous statue
Hey everyone we just finished exiting the Reclining Buddha Another
thing I noticed is there are plenty
of resting areas and benches here
We have our coffee and also a variety of drinks and beverages
Yeah so she was roaming around earlier while I was resting
But that's the good thing about this place—there are plenty of resting
spots plenty of benches I'm not sure
we saw any benches there at Wat Arun
Or maybe just later
You know the place where we're drinking Yeah
that one
Oh totally that's all
Plus it probably helped because there are trees here
so there's shade so you really can't even pretend
So you can rest here after visiting Wat Po
And if you're finishing up with the Reclining Buddha
When you come out there are benches here
There's also a waterfall behind for that extra freshness right
So we'll take a short break for a while— we've
been walking nonstop all day from Wat Arun to Wat Po
For now let's take a break and then we 'll
continue exploring Wat Po in a bit
So I also delved into the roots of Buddhism—just reminded
me really as I was exploring
these temples here in Bangkok
The roots of
Buddhism One common misconception about Buddhism
is that Buddha is their god
No not at all
So Buddha was actually a former prince right
Siddhartha Gautama
That's his real name
That's his human name okay
So if Spider-Man is Peter
Parker then Buddha is Siddhartha
Gautama He was once a prince who saw poverty and suffering
When he left their palace he
was stunned so he searched for
a way to find you know enlightenment and purpose in life
To help these people
And when he finally attained enlightenment
that is when he became Buddha
So Buddha means the awakened one
or the enlightened one right
And another thing that confuses others is that
Buddhism supposedly originated in Southeast Asia right
China he came from India okay
So Buddhism started in India
That's why I've seen many Indians around
here Yeah
They really pray for whatever it is
But we didn't
We just visited
We observed
Yeah
Based on our observations it's somewhat superficial Asians who love to
bargain Europeans on the other hand
actually go on tours and get explanations
I'm just doing self
-study So guys Just
sharing a bit of what
I know about Buddhism
If she knew Hindi she'd know everything right
But from my research you know
I'm a big fan of reading
That's what I've learned about Buddhism okay
Just Ramas actually
Rama I Rama II Rama III and Rama IV
Hi everyone
It's currently 5:45 p m
There aren't many people here at Wat Pho anymore
They close at 7 p m So what you need
to bring and do
before coming here is
Dress appropriately Sleeveless
clothes are not allowed
Tank tops are also prohibited
So you must have sleeves
As for your legs you can wear regular
pants or you can buy
elephant pants here
to look fresher Our second tip is to wear comfortable shoes with socks right
Comfortable shoes of course when
you're here at the temples you'
ll be doing plenty of walking so
make sure you
have good socks too
You have to take off your shoes when entering
the temples proper or
their sacred grounds guys
Meanwhile the others here are walking barefoot and that's
perfectly fine If it's okay with
you then it's okay with me too
But you know if you want your
feet clean and
protected just wear
socks Number three is to bring
cash There are many options here
Food water and drinks
And also remember guys
at the ticket booths
most of them accept only cash
The fourth tip is a lot
at least two to
three hours for this temple Yeah
And for our fifth
tip or recommendation if you're
planning to visit
the three temples
Yung Wat Arun Wat Po
and Grand Palace
So okay
So three routes
we can suggest
that you can take
The first one
You must visit Wat
Arun Okay
After that
board the ferry
to cross the Chao Phraya River
Once you get
down just a few
more steps and you'll be
at Wat Po Okay And then after
Wat Po just a
short walk more
NASA Grand Palace that's where you're going So that's route number one
Route number two is the same way back you'll return the same way
Okay
So don't miss the Grand Palace
After that
walk on over
and you'll be at Wat Po
And then after that
take the ferry
Cross the Chao
Phraya River then head to Wat
Arun by boat That'
s route number
two All right
So routes one and two are the best
If you
start in the
morning around 7 a
m or 8 a you 'll already
be there by then
First temple right Yes
Now if you don't have
that kind of time
you can take route three
which is what we did right
We split up
One day were at the Grand Palace and
then we had another activity
after the Grand Palace
So we headed straight to Wat Po
Then on the second day
went to Wat Arun
and Wat Po
That's it guys
Here are our tips when
visiting the
temples here
in Bangkok:
Wat Arun Wat
Po and the Grand Palace
At night the
streets just outside
Wat Po are alive with energy
Many restaurants
cafes street
food stalls
and even spots
where you can enjoy one of
the best views of Wat Arun
Alright
everyone If
you want an amazing
view of Wat Arun at
night head
over here
Tasubhan Road or street offers a view of
Wat Arun
Temple at night and sunset
is also a great option
It all depends
on your itinerary
The second one which is slightly
more challenging is dining in
here at one of the restaurants
We're going down to another
6th floor So actually that'
s the Wat Pho temple right
over there on
the other side
It's easier now
because it's
downhill But
exercise—Annie'
s exhausted but
totally worth
it Just book early everyone
So guys here
we are After
our tour up top we had
dinner here at Som Tumder
And this is
our final meal
Here in Bangkok
Hi everyone
We've finished
dinner Our bill
came to 1 147 baht
A bit pricey but it's
our last day here in
Bangkok Thailand so
right now it's past 8 p m
So we're still looking
for dessert even past 8 p
m with many places already closed
but hey come on
We still have something to see So come on
Alright everyone So as I was saying earlier let 's
grab some ice
cream first Good thing we found
this place Before Sunset Ice Cream
Same thing at Green Pier Wat
Pho Also just now I checked or
researched and apparently there'
s a fireworks
display later today
8:45
And we have 5 minutes left
So let's see if that's really true
And in the meantime
Let's get ice cream first
Okay
So from Green Pier we just walked a
little bit down the promenade over
here We're at White
Pier now because
it's a bit more sheltered here
Fireworks are lighting up the right side here
And as you can see
Bangkok is buzzing because the
River Cruise has begun
So many river
cruises behind us right In fact the other
river cruises even stopped
just to see the fireworks
So they got the best seat in the house right at the edge of
the Chao Phraya with
a perfect view of the fireworks So there you have it guys This is a great way
To wrap up our
final day here in Bangkok
